Can we convert you? 9/27/2011

Beautiful place, but all they want to do is convert you, or at least have your contact info so they can do so later. Its unfortunate so many people equate Utah and Mormons, there is so much more to do in Salt Lake City and Utah as a whole than the Mormon experience. The skiing is world class, hence the 2002 Winter Olympics. more

Fantastic 1/28/2004

Visiting temple square is an awesome experience regardless of religious belief. It is an inspiration to see what dedicated american pioneers accomplished. The buildings are very ornate and stand strong showing the commitment and dedication these people put into their work. The tour helped me understand the how the city and state were begun, and some insight into what the mormons beleive. The religious info. was by no means preaching but more an explanation of why those beliefs inspired the people to work the way they did. I also learned how helpful the mormons are in researching my family history. I'm very glad I took the time to pull off the I-15 and find out what makes Utah what it is. more

Heavenly 1/28/2004

I love it. It is probably one of the most beautifully kept property I have ever seen. I love it at Christmas with all of the lights. It is amazing to see little flowers peeking up through the snow. I thought I was seeing things but no they were real. I really feel that it is as close to heaven as I am ever going to get. The protestors are a little overwhelming. I didn't appreciate what they were doing but once inside the walls of Temple Square you don't even notice them. Pros: Beautiful, Peacefull, Nice Staff more

Absolutely beautiful 4/7/2003

I've always thought Temple Square is beautiful in summer. I saw it last December for the first time at Christmas and was blown away by the beauty. The missionaries are always well-informed, friendly and helpful. I'm not LDS, and I've never felt pressured in any way by the missionaries -- you give respect, you get respect. more

Temple Square is so wonderful! I love the peaceful feelings I have when I walk around Temple Square. All of the volunteers are very helpful to answer any questions that one might have. I love the beauty that surrounds the area! If you are in the Salt Lake area, you must see Temple Square! Pros: Spiritual, Beautiful, Friendly more

Very nice 2/21/2003

I really liked visiting this most impressive place. I have been all over the U.S. and can think of no other city in which the middle of town is centered around such an impressive building. It really stands out. The only thing I did not like were those who apparently oppose the Mormons taunting and yelling some rather awful things at other visitors. I would go on days when I could avoid these horrible, fundementalist whakos! Pros: Free, Location, Informative Cons: Protesters, Crowded, Too much to see more

I love to walk around Temple Square. There is such a peaceful feeling on the grounds of Temple Square. The volunteer missionaries are very willing to answer any questions. Pros: Spiritual, Peaceful, Friendly more

Okay 11/26/2002

The outside of Temple Square is beautiful all year, but especially at Christmas time. The visitors centers are quite dull though. Information on the religion is vague and whitewashes the whole religion. If you ask for more detailed information from volunteers they seem to either take it as an indication that you would like to be preached to or they give the same vague information. more

So Spiritual! 11/22/2002

The first time i went the spirit was so awesome. It is such a beautiful place. My non-LDS friend fell in love the first time he saw it! more

Required Viewing 11/8/2002

No visit to Utah is complete without a tour of Temple Square! Be prepared to get the whole nine-yards on the 'spiritual' side of the LDS religion; but be sure to head across the street to the museum for more 'history', as well as to the DUP museum up the hill near the state capitol. more

Heart of the City! 11/8/2002

A tour of tempe square, especially during the winter when the Christmas lights are up, is an amazing experience. Temple Square offers music from the tabernacle choir, beautiful structures and plant life, and an explanation of the beliefs of the Mormon church. Overall, a great experience Pros: Free, tours -many languages more

Not so much 11/1/2002

This is truly worth the time. No matter your relgion. It is a worldwides relgions center right here in Utah.
