Christmas Lights or Flowers = kiss 10/10/2002

When I step into the gates of Temple square, I feel that I have stepped into another world. It is so beautiful, and peaceful there. All my cares slip away, and I feel happiness. I want to be with the ones I love. I want to kiss my husband, and tell him how much I love him. We think, together, about the day we were married there. It is very romantic. Pros: Free, Very beautiful, Close to fun places Cons: parking not great more

Architectual Asthetics 8/14/2002

Temple Square is home of the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons). It also houses the Church's tabernacle (home of the renouned Mormon Tabernacle Choir), visitors centers, beautiful gardens, and other buildings. The Salt Lake Temple has been shown in many photographs and videos, especially during the Olypmics. It is a beautiful white building that was built by the early pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley under the direction of Brigham Young. Its amazing to behold, and the grounds are stunning as well, especially at Christmas time. Everything is free, and if you are in Salt Lake you should definately visit. Pros: No Fee, Beautiful, Peaceful Cons: sometimes crowded, road construction more

This is the place 8/14/2002

Still the highlight of SLC. If you visit Utah and miss Temple Square, you missed it all. I am not a member of the LDS church, and I definately don't subscribe to the ""Mormon"" way of life, but this is the Golden Gate bridge of Utah, if you don't take time to tour this place, you have missed what Utah is. more

Heart of Salt Lake City 8/7/2002

Whether you are visiting Salt Lake City in spring, summer, fall, or winter, Temple Square should be your first stop. In spring, the square is coming alive with world renowned gardens. Through the summer months, the gardens are bursting with color, and you can always cool down in the visitor centers, while enjoying beautiful art and other exhibitions. In the fall, trees are bathed in golden colors. But perhaps winter is the most lovely time to visit Temple Square, when tens of thousands of Christmas lights create a wonderland for all ages. With Christmas music lilting in the air, and a beautiful Navity, it's aperfect way to spend a winter evening. You can even take a horse and buggy ride just outside Temple Square for a romantic touch. Temple square is also surrounded by many shopping facilities and wonderful resturants. It truly is the heart of Salt Lake City. more

Legacy of Faith 7/26/2002

Temple Square is a wonderful site to behold any time of the year. One certainly stands in awe when gazing upon the Salt Lake Temple. By today's standards it is an impressive building, but when compared to the buildings of mid 1800 America, it is a miracle. One cannot help getting misty eyed when the toil, persecution and struggle are revealed concerning the Mormon pioneers. From much struggle comes a great reward. You will certainly feel uplifted about the human spirit when you take time to visit the Salt Lake Temple. Pros: Beautiful environment, Friendly guides, Easy access Cons: Cannot enter temple more

You'll never want to leave 7/14/2002

Probably one of the most single most factors that made my wife and I decide to move to Kaysville, Utah (not far from Salt Lake City, a.k.a. Mormon City) was the wonderful feeling we got when visiting Temple Square and simliar sites in the Salt Lake area. We liked it so much, we moved here and have loved every minute of it. TIP: TONS of free, high quality concerts. If you love music, you'll love Temple Square. Pros: Friendly people, Everything is free, High quality entrtnmt Cons: Not-so-good parking more

Christmas in the Square........ 7/7/2002

Temple Square is an interesting landmark and exceptionally beautiful at Christmas. Everything is adorned with lights and an evening tour was one of the highlights of our trip. My family lives in Utah and my brother-in-law works at the Temple so we had our own personal tour guide. I am not Mormon, nor am I reglious, but I enjoyed listening to a part of American history. The buildings are beautiful and there are plenty of people on staff to answer questions. This stop is definitely a must when you visit Utah. more
