I had my Mark Levinson preamp serviced by Technetron, and they did an excellent job in the repairs, in addition to a quick turn around. Great job guys, keep up the good work.

Excellent service center 1/18/2011

First of all I disagree with the review below by Phillipo. You are exaggerating about this completely. I used Technetron for many years and they have been around for many years in business & are a factory authorized McIntosh repair center. McIntosh just doesn't use any random Joe schmoe to fix their products. Let's start by asking you how old is your McIntosh unit??? What really is the condition of the machine?? You have to expect that older equipment does go through wear and tear and certain electrolytic components loose their value over the years like almost any amplifier equipment. Also I believe that you requested an estimate for the repair, which why I can't find why you are shocked to get a call for the diagnoises!!! You also state that the machine has a short-circuit what do you think it just miracelly happened... Obviously the unit has wear and the unit has electrical failure of some sort... Technetron knows what they are doing, and everyone has the right to shop around. But knowing from experience if you send the unit into McIntosh it very costly for shipping alone, and McIntosh labor rates are also high hourly.... like any older amps labor is costly and very time consuming with amplifiers. I believe that you sir are a scrupulous penny pincher and a wisenheimer..... If you know better than why don't you fix the machine yourself...?? Like any industry when you own expensive items you needtomake sure you can afford both to buy it and have money to fix it. As far as Technetron is concerned they are very honest and have an excellent repair reputation with many high-end audio manufacturers. more

Not Great 12/27/2010

The customer service in the place really isn't great and I suspect the integrity of the pricing. I think they've cornered a market in the city and they overcharge people. I also think they are good at what they do and can fix whatever problem they come up against, but you'll pay for it. Tough to trust these guys. more

Would not recommend this place. 11/18/2010

I brought a McIntosh product in for servicing. I asked to speak to a technician and in walks in a small foreigner with short sleeves looking like he just came out of a session of weight lifting. He didn't understand me and thought I had kept misinterpreting what I said. He looked sort of slimy but I tried to over look this. He tried to look at any and every detail of the product to see how he could point out its's flawws. Luckily the product was in flawless condition except it had short circuited and that was the reason I brought the product in. Bad unscrupulous people exaggerate any flaws. He trying to find something so he could try to fix it and anti up the price. I was surprized. He didn't even inspect the thing for an estimate. more

Great and on time repairs to complex electronics 9/10/2008

I've had two different McIntosh audio electronics repaired here. They were friendly, helpful and their diagnosis was correct the first time. The repairs were delivered on time with no problems or issues. more
