Go anywhere else! 7/2/2013

Quite a few jerks on the staff. Recently, I was looking to purchase a Liberty safe. I tried to connect with Trevor for a week but only spoke through voice mail. I was purchasing this for my husband on his birthday. When we went to look at them in person, we were lied to multiple times. Lie #1- the black chrome costs $300 more on a Liberty Safe. Lie #2- the digital combination lock costs more than the manual one. Lie #3- this safe isn't a second it was just damaged in transit. Lie #4- shipping is free. The safe had a tag which arrived on it and stated what was wrong with the safe from the factory. Target World knowingly buys factory defective safes. The price on this Liberty Lincoln 35 was $3000 with steel gouges and paint defects. The explanation was that it had the black chrome and digital combination which made it worth more. I got the exact same safe with black chrome hardware for $2700 at Gander Mountain. Reason why I didn't order one from Target World? I called and asked for Trevor and the hours he said he would be working were incorrect. I spoke with the largest "business killer" employee at the place. I told him what I was looking to order. He mentioned that they have a safe like I want for $3000. I told him I was not willing to get a damaged safe for $3000 when I can get a new one from Gander Mtn for $2700. He asked if I could hold...came back on and told me that Trevor would be back in tomorrow. I told him I needed to order it today as it is my husband's birthday. He told me to "order it from Gander Mountain then!" Target World runs a shady practice when it comes to their safes. Don't fall for the free shipping. I am getting the safe and delivery cheaper than a defective safe with the exact same features. Go anywhere else! You will be treated better, not lied to, get a competitive price, and an overall better buying experience. more

One of the better Gun Stores 1/6/2013

After reading positive and negative reviews, wasn't sure what I would find. Got there late on a Sunday evening. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tim, in particular, took time to tell me about the available stock, which was pretty picked over. Not his, or the store's fault, given the times. He took the time to root through the back to see if there was anything else he could show me. He took time to understand my wants and offered a couple options I had not considered. Told me to think it over and check back when they get some more stock in. He treated me like a valued customer even though I've never benn there before. Sold me a couple mags I have been looking for and some ammo. I will come back. more

Helpful and Informative 10/16/2012

Joe was very helpful in choosing a revolver and answering every question I had. He was very informative and helpful. The experience was excellent. I am a seventy-five year old woman and was made to feel confortable with gun I was trying to select. He gave very useful info on safety. more

Thank you Jeremy 10/2/2012

When we stopped into Target World I really was not sure what I wanted. I cannot thank Jeremy enough for the time he took with us. He was a great help in the decision making process. Thank you. I will be back! more

bad customer service 8/14/2012

I have a gun on laway and went in to make a payment today. i patiently waited at the counter for ten minutes with no help. i saw five guys working behind the counter and the place was not very busy. I approached one who want doing anything and asked to make a payment. he told me only two associates were able to do such a relatively easy transaction, nevertheless i waited. After another twenty minutes of standing there and no one else approaching to help i finally left. these guys work slower than my grandmother and she has been dead six years. there is no customer service here, and ni motivation to help anyone. i guess the only way they stay in business is the insane markup on all there products. btw the gun i had on layaway is a walther p22, target world price 480.41 including tax... more

Worst customer service I ever seen 3/13/2011

Worst customer service I ever seen. I was in line waiting for a lane when the clerk at the front desk asked the gentleman behind me if he could help him. Even though I was clearly next in line the clerk continued to help this man behind me and acted like I was invisible. So I walked out the door and will take my money elsewhere. This place is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR AFRICAN-AMERICANS. more

What does the largest select help... 3/11/2011

... if there is nobody to sell it or even interested in selling it. Have been standing there for almost 10 minutes and did not even hear a "with you in 5 minutes", "just need to service this one before you". Nothing to expect in regards to customer service. The shooting range is dangerous. People are given a gun that never had one in their hands before, I do not go there any more because I got afraid taking a bullet from people that have no clue about firearm safety. Targetworld only cares that nobody is a second over their time and that it was paid. It was much better many years ago. more

Could not have asked for anything else.. 2/1/2011

I had never even fired a hand gun before deciding to purchase one. I went to a gun store in Fairfield with 1000.00 dollars in my pocket to buy what i wanted. The sales guy shued me off like i was a nobody just browsing in the store. I drove right to Target World where I was greeted by Joe. I told him my situation with the other store and let him know that i had never fired off a hand gun. I told him that i was interested in a Glock but didn't know anything about them. He proceeded to take me into the range with a Glock 45mm and gave me a 20 min instruction on how to properly handle the firearm. He then stated that if i could fire off the 45 i could easly handle the 9mm i was interested in. Did i mention that he did not charge me for the lesson or rental or ammo for the lesson.. I spent 1,200.00 with him that day on the Glock 9mm ammo, upgraded sites, glasses, holster, finger print safe and cleaning kit and i still continue to go there to practice in their range. I don't go regulary but when ever i do get a chance to go, if Joe is working he always says hi and the rest of the staff is very helpful and kind as well.. I have read plenty of bad reviews of Target world and just can not understand how people can rate them any less than 5 stars. They have great staff who not only help you but also know what they are talking about. There prices are not always the lowest in town but always fair to good and generally have whatever it is your looking for. Great Job Target World.. Yet another customer for life..... more

Target World - Don't wast your time 11/5/2010

Target World claims to have the largest collection of firearms in Ohio. This is true. Even though a log of it is low end, used or both. The salesmen are rude and act like you are just wasting their time. They actually scare customers away with their self righteous attitude. The only exceptions are an elderly firearm salesman and the archery guy. The entire place is always a mess, especially the range and archery work area. Their prices are very high and higher than any other store I have been to. I can't find anything good to say about Target World. I have taken a couple of classes I signed up for through them. The classes were good but that is the result of the professional trainer who doesn't work for Target World, thank god. more

Thank you Target World 7/30/2010

Good: My first time in there I was surprised how much stuff they sell. They even have a lot of safes. I like the range and everyone made me feel welcome.. Bad: The parking lot was full.. Improvements: Have gun sales more often.. Other: Really enjoy going there.. more

Indoor Shooting Range 11/14/2005

This is the only shooting range I have been to, so can't really compare to what else is out there. But I have to say, it's pretty well organized. Lots of ammo for sale and the staff is quite knowledgeable. If you purchase annual membership you get unlimited time and can get priority in case there is a line. The place is very busy. The only thing I didn't like is that often at least 1-2 lanes are out of order, so sometimes you do have to wait your turn. more
