i could die today.... 5/26/2006

as a very happy woman. I forgot how great this place is. I'm not feeling very creative today to write, so I'm just going to list out what I liked: Service - Excellent. Recommended good food/wine and wasn't overly attentive. Drinks - Sangria was great. Waiter recommended the Montes Alpha Cab, reasonably priced and delicious. Tapas - Loved the Bistec and the Crab/Habenero Ceviche. Dessert - El Diablo. The dessert chef brought it out too. It was soooo good. I would go back there just for dessert. and - it's only $7! Things I didn't like: honestly, I cant think of anything except that I ordered a dirty Martini and it wasn't very dirty. Other than that, I cant complain, I loved it. I don't know why I dont go there more often!!! more

SINFUL-ISHIS DESSERT 4/4/2006

I HIGHLY, AND I MEAN HIGHLY, RECOMMEND THE CHOCOLATE EL DIABLO CAKE FROM "TANGO." IT'S A PARTY IN YOUR MOUTH AND EVEN IF YOU GET IT TO-GO AND EAT IT FOR BREAKFAST...IT IS STILL A WINNER! more

LOOSEN THAT BELT... 3/16/2006

NO DANCE SKILLS REQUIRED TO ENJOY THE "TANGO." THIS DINING PARADISE WILL INDEED SALSA IT'S LITTLE BRAINS RIGHT INTO YOUR BELLY. HELLO?  ANY APPETIZER CONSISTING OF 4 SPANISH CHEESES BAKED IN A CAZUELA DISH AND GLORIOUSLY ACCOMPANIED BY CROSTINI, APPLES AND SALAMI CAN AND WILL, REMAIN A MAINSTAY IN MY DINING LIFE. C'MON...THEN, AS IF THAT WERE NOT ENOUGH, REGARDLESS OF THE PRIOR PORTION INTAKE, NO ONE IS LEAVING UNTIL I GET MY "DIABLO (SOMETHING OR OTHER) CAKE." THERE REALLY ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE MY LOVE AFFAIR WITH "TANGO," BUT DINE IN THE BAR...IT OFFERS FAR BETTER SERVICE AND PLENTY MORE ATMOSPHERE. | | more

Tasty Tapas 3/6/2006

Tango has a lot of things going for it, warm ambiance with original artwork, a large and fairly authentic menu plus its convenient location-near all the good pike/pine bars and just blocks away from downtown. My favorite dishes on a recent trip were their signature croquetas (appetizer) and the tenderloin & lamb from the carne selections. We skipped dessert and opted instead for a cheese plate which is an a la carte selection with a heavy focus on goat cheeses. The only drawback would be price. I found it a little expensive for what you got. Tenderloin (tapas style-about 3-4 ounces) was about $17 and you need 2-3 tapas per person depending on how hungry you are. A few tapas and your bill gets steep. Fortunately the wine selection was big and they have many moderate bottles which balanced things out a little. more

Yeow! Top Notch 12/8/2005

One place where even if the bill starts to add up, you could care less. Very interesting dishes, nice staff who leaves you alone and does not hover. Nice wine list. We will be back. Not a place for those with picky taste or a bad attitude. more

best tapas in Seattle! 8/18/2005

Tango is the best! You can go there for a romantic evening, or with a group of friends and have a great time. We go there for every special occasion and we've never been let down. Their wait staff are always friendly and extremely knowledgable about the menu. The advice that the staff gives us concerning wine and food has been exceptional. They have a very large wine selection, and the drinks are top notch. Every dish is cooked to perfection and the prices may seem a little high, but they are well worth it. The desserts are original and delicious! I love this place, and I will be going back as long as I can. more
