I received a giftcard to Tangerine and have been going ever since. The salon is so trendy and stylists are very knowledgeable. Amy is very good with my hair and Kimberly gives the best pedicure ever. more

I have been to the best salons in Memphis, Nashville and Atlanta. Edwin Milraney, at Tangerine, is as good, if not better, than any stylist I have ever been to. Great color, great cut, great guy! He's an artist. I highly recommend this stylist! -BB more

Since I used to do hair it was very hard to rely and depend on someone else to do your hair and well...do it nicely. People don't realize the stress they put on hairstylist. The only thing they have to go by is how you describe what you want...and sometimes...you don't do such a great job. So when you blame the stylist...you might as well blame yourself. The first time I went here I told the stylist what I wanted...I brought pictures to show what I meant also, talking more in depth about the stlye I wanted helped us to connect on different level...she achieved just what I was looking for and it was very reassuring. I suppose since I am a former stylist I knew just what to say, but I have faith that even if I didnt...they'd know just what to do. Sometimes people put way too much pressure on just one person...it's just your hair...it's easily fixed...calm down and quit being so critical. Its ridiculous how many negative things can be said....when obviously you, yourself are the one to blame. This is a great salon, and you should definitely go there. If you are unsure of exactly what you want schedule a consultation before making the actual appointment....you won't be dissapointed. more

When I first moved to Murfreesboro, I was thrilled to find such a trendy Aveda salon. Tangerine was my favorite salon I'd ever been to, but over the past year, I have noticed all of my favorite staff members slowly disappearing...and being replaced by a bunch of Smyrna pageant queens. It's not exactly upscale and hip anymore. After jumping from stylist to stylist for a while, I finally found my match. A few days ago, I got an extremely unprofessional voicemail from the receptionist informing me that my stylist is now gone. No, I do not want to make another appointment, Tangerine. I have been going to Tangerine since 2002 on a regular basis and have not been disappointed yet. Throughout the years, I have had several stylists, the most recent, David (co-owner of Tangerine). David has been really good about what I want for my hair regarding color, cut, and style. I find it helpful to bring a photo in of a haircut I like and a photo of haircolor I like and he works with those so that it looks great on me. David is willing to spend time with me consulting about my hair, will bend over backward for you if you don't like it (color revisions and cut). The pros are that the receptionists are nice and willing to bring you anything to drink. Sometimes the massage therapists do complimentary hand massages (weekends), and my favorite is that all the stylists do neck and head massages while shampooing. Also, if your stylist leaves, Tangerine will give you next haircut for half price with any stylist there with an opening. The cons is that sometimes, the stylists take a little too long with foiling (perhaps the stylist could use an assistant?), and also some of the workers there can appear to have snobby attitudes. The biggest con is the price tag afterward. For a medium foil, cut, and style, I spend upwards of $160. Ouch! That's why I only go every 7-8 weeks. Also, it's hard to get an appointment there when you need it. Important to schedule several weeks ahead. Walk ins may not be able to get in. This is the best salon I have ever been to. Everyone is so friendly and they treat you like their best client. I have always received the best hair cuts, color and styles. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The stylists I went to did not have the basic knowledge of the color wheel. I spent well over 100 and it looked cheap, and the hair cut was nothing what I asked for I could have cut my own hair that way. Overall bad, very bad. Cons: Knowledge more

They made me feel like I was so unimportant. It was all about how much money they could get out of me. Pushing there products on me, and telling me they wouldn't stand behind there work if I didn't. When I lived in the 'boro I used David at Tangerine for 4 years and was thrilled everytime. The salon staff was always friendly and my hair was always great. David listened and took his time to make sure that I was happy. I don't think I appreciated how wonderful they are until I moved to Nashville and had a horrible color job done at Trumps. I could not possibly go to work - it was so awful. I called Tangerine and they worked me in for a color correction. David really went above and beyond to work me in even though he knew I moved. To me - that speaks volumes for the quality of people who run this salon. Needless to say I will be making the drive back from now on. Many of my friends use Tangerine and I know they are happy also. I would recommend this salon to anyone and i mean absolutely ANYONE. i learned and grew so much while working there and i really miss being around such a positive, energetic, sweet natured atmosphere. call now and make an appointment with any stylist, you will not be dissappointed. they truely know how to treat their guests along with their staff. :) Pros: super friendly, genuinely caring, and amazing receptionists! ;) more

i went to tangerine for the first time last week. i have had more than a few bad experiences with massage therapists that claim to know what they are doing, but end up bruising me or making me feel worse. not jeni!! when i was telling her what i needed, she actually listened to me and did exactly what i wanted and needed. AND MORE!!! i have never felt this good after a massage. she really cares about her clients and you can feel it in her work. i will tell everyone i know about her! my search is finally over, i have found my new massage therapist!! thank you jeni! I am a client of Tangerine and the service I recieved over the years is second to none, and the way that Jim has continued to update my look is just amazing with the cut or the colors that are used. I would recomend this salon to anyone in the area. They give the best shampoo that I have ever recieved, I wish they could teach my husband just kiding as I said before, just go and you won't be disipointed. more

I moved to Murfreesboro 2 years ago and dreaded finding someone to cut my hair- it's like finding a new OB/GYN! Not fun! Anyway, I had Tangerine recommended to me and lucked out to get Kelly H as my stylist. She is amazing! I give her an 'idea' and she gives me the perfect cut every time. I recently had my first highlights done- ever - and constantly get compliments on my hair. No one asks if I have it colored, they just rave about the actual color of my hair! Thanks KELLY! i went to tangerine upon deciding to chop all of my long hair off for locks of love. i was very nervous since i have gone to so many stylists and had my hair screwed up. i saw lila, who was EXCELLENT. i brought in a few pictures and asked her to put them all together.. she did such a wonderful job and i looked like a totally new person! it was even better than i thought it would look! thanks! i will forever be a customer. I had a wonderful first time experience today! I've been to the same hairdresser for 5 years and was ready for a change. I went in and introduced myself about 2 days ago. I was greeted with a smile and friendly greeting and was offered help immediately. I explained this would be my first visit and I was a little nervous. I was given an appointment with David for 2 days later. David spent much time with me before jumping into my hair. He talked with me about my face shape and the qualities and condition of my hair and made recommendations. Then, on to the hair wash! An experience all its own! I left feeling confident, comfortable and ready for my next appointment. The surroundings were fun and upbeat. There was every kind of hairdresser and every kind of client. I had my haircut there, brought a picture in, and even a brief description on "how to" get this particular cut and I asked the person (it was a guy) several times if he is positively sure on how to do this cut, and he assured me it was a piece of cake. AND IT WAS 2-3 inches shorter then what it was suppose to be! This place looks good for nothing. I spent well over $150 that day too. Don't believe these inexperience wannabe "hair stylists". They'll tell you whatever just to make some chump change. It's their lost because, everyone knows you make the most money if you make your customers happy. Pros: The place seemed cleaned. Cons: They didn't offer me anything to drink. I had to ask if I can have something to drink since I was there awhile. And they gave me water in a dirty lipstick stained cup! more

I have been going to the Tangerine for over three years now (every month) and have been completely satisfied. Each of the five stylists I have seen have done a wonderful job highlighting and cutting. My favorite part is the wonderful neck and head massages given at time of wash and rinse. Sometimes I get a free hand facial as well. The staff are friendly and willing to serve. Do Not Go Here!!! I got the worst hair cut of my life. The girl told me she had been cutting hair for 20 years, but my child could have done better. I had to go to another salon to get it corrected and they could not believe how horrible my hair was cut. Nothing was even, there were huge gaps and the sides didn't even come close to matching. I will never go back to this salon. Maybe the girl was having a bad day, who knows. Regardless, that was my first and last trip to this salon. Just Beware. Pros: none more
