Sundance Rentals

In my year and a half renting from Sundance, I have never had a problem getting things done that needed to be done. I am very pleased with the dealings I have had with them. more

Signed the lease and they said that busted cabinets and missing doors and shelves would be replaced and carpets cleaned before we moved in. We got here only to find out other wise and had my parents come up and do a ton of repairs on the house and the house wasn't touched! We first moved in our front door didn't lock so you could just push it open. The stove leaked gas in the house and we were told it was hazardous called the company only to be told as long as the stove works they do not have to replace it. So we had to buy a new stove. Now it doesnt shut unless locked and thats if we can get it locked. (house settled and they refuse to fix the door). Our shower was rigged by a 6in natural gas pipe and valve not even plumbing piping! Making it very hard for a 5'10'' person to shower. My husband is 5'5'' and he has to squat to wash his hair so imagine that for me! Our first month to pay rent we got an eviction notice and we had paid rent but apparently the computer system crashed to they just sent that letter to everyone. This is why you keep a paper trail as well. And what a stupid thing to do! threaten to evict everyone???? So on top of that this month my husband was in the field and my cousin has opted to not continue with his treatment and so do to his choice we made a trip home so we could see him at least one more time. We gave the rent check to them 3 days early asked them to hold it. Lady insisted they would and didnt. so now they are charging another 150 dollars for a returned check because my husband is a soldier and they didnt hold it as they agreed to. If they were not going to hold it then they should have said so and I could have arranged another plan i suppose. The maintenance people always reak of cigarette smoke and we have to smell it for hrs before. I mean how professional is that. Putting my childrens health at risk due to bad habits. These people are absolutely horrible and I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy. Just 2 more months if I can make it that long1 more

i called about two properties and was given vague information without any offer to see the property or talk to a realtor. i emailed and got a response saying let them know if i wanted to see the properties and i said yes. no response. i called again and set up an appointment and no one showed up. didn't even take my name or phone number in case they were late or had something come up. not sure they were really interested in renting out anything. i really liked two places but have to continue looking through a different company. more

Sundance Rentals blows every other month they try to say they are evicting me and I didn't pay my rent yet I have never been late on the rent so I have to go down there and bring the receipt that I payed ... I have a separate bank account for my rent. I gave them Dec months rent in advance... So they try to cash it early. My bank charges me 25 dollars, so I'm like crap but nothing I can do. Then they call me today and try to tell me on the first (when rent is due) That I owe them an extra 50 dollars. what the hell so I pay rent today on time and owe them 50 freaking dollars because they cashed the check early. I told them I'm not paying that fee she said the will take me to the county clerk and charge me 40 dollars a day that I don't pay 50 dollars when I gave the rent check in advanced! I told her go ahead I pay my rent on the first of every month and am never late, sue me for 50 dollars for paying my rent in advanced... This is what's wrong with our country. This is why everyone is broke companies like this screwing us. It cost me 75 dollars to pay my rent early.... more

ok I have not been here that long and so far(hopefully never) had no problems and have not needed to talk to anyone. I did get and house to rent very fast after the paperwork and payments were made happy about that. Thank you more

We needed a place to live in a quick-short timeframe and luckily found a place and got in with no problems. We were a little disappointed it took us about a week to get any water and when our hot water heated it took two weeks to fix. But overall it was a good experience and most of the staff was very friendly. more

After reading the comments on this Company and others it all comes down to reading, and understanding your rights uner the Landlord Tenant Act and Fair Housing Standards. The real question is should I rent this home and if so have the leasing agent explain all the lease items we are responsible for after all we have more than likely rented before and know the questions to ask. Soldiers who rent can ask the Housing Office for assistance with their lease and have them explain their responsibilities as a renter. They can also have a representive from their Command or Housing present with a member of the management company at the time of move in or out. It;s easy to complain and post comments being a little more proactive many lessen the pain for everyone moving in or out. No matter where we are the requirements are pretty much the same for everyone who rents. Throughout my military career and retirement I have rented many palces and have reduced my pain by asking questions and selecting the best home I could find even if I had to pay a little more. The better properties are going to cost more and Where we choose to live is our decesion alone. We should choose wisely. more

I have rented from them. I also no several people who use them for property management. If your like us, we needed to find a nice home affordable and a neighborhood our kids could play in. Sundance had the most selection of houses to rent or buy. Yes they have to do a back ground check yes they expect rent on time. Yes you pay a deposit. They also are the best rental agency and the largest in lawton. I give them 5 stars because how easy the company makes finding a new home and how easy it was when it came time to move away from lawton. There website made it easy for us to get an idea of rent prices house locations which made it very simple when we arrived in town. We went to there office which is located right off post we got a list of all the available rentals. We used gps to go look at the houses. Then went back to get keys to look at each one we really liked. We filled out our application reviewed there policys and before you knew it we where in a house. Simple. Stress free. more
