My boyfriend and I drove to SCS all the way from Orlando this past Saturday, figuring it would be a great ""full day"" activity. Arriving at the thing they call stables, we found it to be very unkept and dirty looking. They have pigs roaming next to the road and there are no clear signs as to where to park or go once you do. I called the phone number, where the guy told me in a rude manner, to go to the trailer. Mind you, there are about 5 trailers on the property, all of which are very run down and trashy looking. We decided to give it a try anyways. After wading through mud and water, we got to the ""office."" I refused to go inside because it looked super dirty. The lady gave us the form that we were supposed to put our information on. We did, and she took our money. We were given 2 horses. Both who turned out to be stubborn and not very cooperative. We were out on our trail for about 20 minutes and my stirrup broke completely. The saddle I had looked like it was on it's last leg as it was. We decided to try and keep riding. The horses had a mind of their own, and though you may reign them one way, go the way they want. We ended up at the gate, and when we tried to go back, the horses would no budge. Frustrated and with a broken stirrup, we headed back to the ""what should be a barn."" This was exactly 1 hour into our 3 hour reservation. Explaining what had happened, the lady asked us what we wanted to to. I told her that they were the most uncooperative horses I have ever ridden and that it is their responsibility as a business to have horses that are easy to ride and have equipment that is not faulty. She proceeded to tell me that there is no refund and that 25 people had ridden that day, and that I was the only one to complain and that 1 out of 25 is very good. I was livid, and left. I have ridden and shown horses for 15 years and I have NEVER seen anything like this. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: Country setting, quiet
Cons: unprofessional, ill trained horses, rude staff, very trashy
