The guys at Sun Automotive were awesome. They were all pleasant and they do what they say they're going to do. They stick to the prices in the quote or close to it, so I'm very happy. I had some engine work done on my truck, which had some engine trouble. They're awesome. more

My wife and I have been bringing our cars to the Springfield location of Sun Automotive for about 3 years now. I will admit that I have had trust issues with mechanics in the past, but since we have been coming here, we have never been steered wrong or felt taken advantage of. We actually live closer to the Eugene locations of S.A. but we drive to Springfield for our service because of Brian, who has taken great care of our cars every time, and Tanner, who explains the work that needs to be done, does the scheduling, and makes us laugh. If you are looking for honest mechanics, reasonable prices, and fast, friendly service, you will be happy here. more

I went back to Sun Automotive at the UO campus location yesterday for a windshield wiper linkage break and oil change. The estimate for the wiper fix and the suggested transmission fluid and case flush was $700. I called and ask for them to not fix the wiper or do the flush so I could get a second opinion. I was then scolded by the Service Advisor, and told that I wasted his time. When I picked up the car I was charged $130 ($80 for the oil change which previously cost $30). Jack said the wiper part was $275. I took my car to Edge Motorsports where my total bill was $140 ($70 for the wiper part and 70 for labor) and my fluids were clean and did not need flushed. This is the second time I had an estimate from Sun Automotive far more expensive than other places (the last repair was an alternator that was twice as expensive there as at Edge). NO more Sun Automotive... only Brad and Phil at Edge Motorsports. more

I brought my car in because of an engine light and they told me that there was a problem with my oxygen sensor (this is what the computer says). $540 later I have a new oxygen sensor (and a bunch of other stuff they suckered me into- that's my fault) BUT..... When I get the car back I am suspicious so I take the manifold cover off (takes about 30 seconds) and lo and behold I have a cracked exhaust manifold. This is the root of the problem. Had they spent the extra time (30 seconds) to investigate further they would have discovered that the problem was not an oxygen sensor, but a cracked manifold. Now I have to shell out another chunk of change to fix the same problem. Pros: They Are nice to you Cons: When they pump you for money more
