A Great Bookstore 4/1/2009

Yes, they've been around a long time, and yes, the rise of the Barnes & Nobles and Borders has probably hurt them.\r \r But they hold their own. They do have a better selection of periodicals, and local authors come by from time to time to sign new releases.\r \r If you want a place to stop by and relax, browse, and enjoy a milkshake at the bar, you can't go wrong. And if you are in the market for a new book purchase, you should strongly consider supporting this locally owned Tulsa business. more

Timeless 4/3/2007

This is a timeless place in Tulsa. I love getting a shake or malt in the back, and walking to browse the books. I don't think the selection is as big as the major stores, but they always have what I want or need. more

great selection 11/29/2005

This is the only place in tulsa I can find one particular trade magazine. Staff is nice and helpful. I even call and ask if the magazine is in yet and they are always helpful to look for me. I will be going back many more times. You can park right at the door and you don't have fit the "mall" crowds at this bookstore more

nostalgia, revisited 11/2/2005

Who can remember the last time you could get a milk-malted at the back of a bookstore? They still serve 'em- and some lite entrees too. Even a coin-operated stamp machine- remember those? The stamps don't stick (use glue!) still it's loads of fun! PROS: lots of memories CONS: not the best selection ,due to space limits more

Old Fashion Book Store 9/12/2005

I have been going to this bookstore since I was a young child and long before we had the big discount stores and bookstores. I think they have every book possible or can find it for you. If you call them with a question, they know the answer without consulting their computer. I am not sure if they still have the soda fountain in back, but I know they still have books and can help you find the perfect gift or new book for your own collection. PROS: Very personalized service CONS: Not competitively priced more

Not that impressed with Steve's Sundry 8/4/2005

A lot of people who grew up in Tulsa remember when Steve's Sundry was THE bookstore. But being part of the younger generation... I'm not very impressed. Their selection is poor, the store is dimly lit, and while it's clean, it needs to be updated so badly that it looks dirty. Still, the place has some nostalgia for older Tulsans. But when I'm looking for a particular book, there are bigger (and cheaper) bookstores in town wiht a better selection. Then again, shopping here will support one of the last locally owned bookstores in Tulsa. I'll browse thru their selection, but I rarely find what I'm looking for. more
