My family had a post-wedding brunch at Star of India and the owner, Vir Singh, took every opportunity to squeeze money out of us by conning us. We had spoken with him several times about the arrangements prior to the event. We were expecting around 50 people, so we figured he'd give us a decent deal. His deal: free water and Cokes. We arranged with Mr. Singh that if any of our guests ordered alcohol, lassis, coffee, etc. that the server was to tell them it was basically a ""cash bar"" option. \r

The servers made a point of offering these other drinks, but neglected to inform our guests that they would have to pay for them, so we got stuck with $150 in drinks that our guests might not have ordered had they known it was a cash-bar arrangement. When we asked why our arrangement, that we had discussed for almost a year, wasn't honored, Mr. Singh's reply was, ""They're your guests. You can pay for them."" \r
\r
On top of that, we had a guest list and we crossed off the name of everyone who showed up for the brunch. We did a head count and arrived at a figure of 42 guests. Mr. Singh charged us for 55 guests and basically called us liars, saying he did his own head count. With the extra drinks that were sneaked into our bill and the cost of our phantom guests, Mr. Singh basically conned us out of more than $300. When we guestioned the bill, the staff was snide with us. \r

Vir Singh is a money-grubbing con, and we don't recommened anyone visit his establishments (Star of India, Bombay Grill, Holiday Inn Express).
Cons: Terrible customer service, grossly overcharged
