Stan's Tech Garage

I don't usually review things, but this place truly deserves a gold star. I consider myself pretty tech savvy, but when my Mac crashed and burned two months out of Applecare, I knew I needed professional help. I sought to find a place that would do a good job getting me back up and running and more importantly, be reasonable. I came across Stan's Tech Garage through an alumni network list where they came very highly recommended, and I now know why. Not only were the guys I dealt with smart, they actually cared, taking time to answer questions and offer help. The work was done fast & correctly, the first time. Customer service like this is so rare these days, I felt compelled to make my raves public. This is a local business worth supporting. more

I heard about Stan's Tech Garage from a co-worker who raved about them, so when I got a virus I paid Stan and his crew a visit. They had me back up and running by the end of the day virus free. This is definitely a business where you can tell they actually care about their customers which is very cool. Great vibe about the place too. They charge a set fee and not by the hour so you know upfront exactly what it's going to cost. Pros: Service, vibe, people Cons: Sometimes the parking lot get crowded more

I hate computers, I hate IT people like Al Queda hates democracy. Seriously. The Geek squad is crap. I know nothing about this tech stuff and I always avoid getting it serviced because I don't want to get screwed. Then I went to Whole Foods on Fairfax, and I stumbled on to Stan's Garage. I had my laptop on me, and I was going shopping at WF anyway, so why not? Thank God for happy little accidents like this. Stan is knowledgeable. His staff is super cool, the place is warm and inviting. The prices are cheap, and the service is kick ass. No waiting in line, no waiting in line in a corporate big box retailer for help that doesn't come from people who are too cool to care. The place is awesome. Big TV's with the Laker game on. I told them my problem, they gave me some options and the whole time, they talked to me in PLAIN ENGLISH. Like I was an equal, like I was a HUMAN BEING. They fixed my laptop fast and cheap. One on one service. Such a good discovery on my part. And they have a dog! It feels like hanging out with a friend, not a business transaction. Can't recommend them enough!!!!
