Standish Heating & Air Cond

They installed a Carrier hvac sys. 10 yrs ago , nothing but problems with it ! I let it go for a while but found out yesterday by a cert. service Tech because the Blower motor & circuit board blew for a cost of another $ 800 . Yesterday was the last straw so I decided to post this , the A/C unit they installed is 2 tons I was told my house size requires a min . of 4 tons . Know wonder the AC runs so long , don't be like me & trust them DO YOUR HOMEWORK ! more

When you book an appointment they give you a 2 or 4 hour window. My appointment was for 8:00-12:00. I called at 8:00 to find out what number appointment I was. They said they could not help me. At 12:15 I called to ask about the service and the woman said the service man is right around the corner. He arrived 20 minutes later. He left my house at 1:00 in the Newport RI area and told me he was already 1 hour late for his 10:00-12:00 appointment in Connecticut. We all know that service people run late and that they are overbooked. It would help the consumers if the business would inform the customer whether the appointment is # 1 or # 5 if the customer calls the day of the appointment. Their service work is good, but their customer service needs much improvement. more

Job was to retrofit central A/C in an older home at the beginning of the summer. They showed up promptly and left no mess. It was very expensive. However, we discovered the following winter that they had moved insulation in the eaves to install ductwork and had not put the insulation back where it belonged. After 15 years in this house with no problems, we had a pipe freeze and burst which caused water damage to a ceiling. The plumber who did the repairs blamed the problem on the displaced insulation. When we contacted Standish about this problem, they were less than helpful and pretty much dropped the ball completely. Additionally, we are now in only the third season since the installation, and currently, one of the units (they installed two) is not working at all. We are awaiting service. Pros: Fast, clean up after themselves Cons: Careless with insulation; follow-up service not great more
