Best

My wife and I went to Spadyssey for massages on our 1 year anniversary!! Little did we know that 90 min later we would have experienced the best massages and the nicest therapist...

Worst

First for the atmosphere....pathetic! A little tiny shop that was so dark I had trouble filling out their masssage form. The bathroom was clean enough but had damaged ceiling tile...

Best Spa In Providence 12/11/2007

I received a gift certificate from my sister for a massage and facial at Spadyssey. It was just what I needed! I have never felt so relaxed in my life. The services were great and so were the therapists who took care of me that day (honestly, it was the best massage of my life). Pros: Best Spa In Providence, Great Massages and Facials. Helpful Staff more

Not a great experience. Not a good experience. There are more spas around the area with lower prices and more to offer than this one. 11/9/2007

I have been to many spas and this one was the worst. The only worst spa. You have to pay for parking. The good news is they pay for half, using their chosen lot. I know it is downtown and parking is a hassle but once you step in you start to wonder was the parking worth it. The spa was not so welcoming. I like a spa that is comforting, clean, organized, and has a vibe. The deco was off, old flooring and the rooms were basic. No candies!! I did not feel the comfort. After arriving I felt bad. I was 5min late. (Due to parking). The receptionist gave me something to fill out. I rushed through it thinking I was the hold up. Come to find out the therapist was running late. (was not told until 25 min later) I understood at first but 45 minutes later I found myself laying on the cold bed, in the room, waiting. Once the therapist arrived (no warning it was a male therapist) I tried to relax and understand. Half way through the massage I realized that this was not the massage I wanted. I was hoping for a hot stone and got a basic. I did not want to ruin my massage so I decided to mention it after. He was good but way to fast. When he started I looked at the clock. (highly recommend one should always look at the clock, its your money) Well my massage was only 45min rather than 60. Then I got a facial. It was a package deal. I thought of leaving but it was not fair for the facial therapist. The facial was good but had better ones. The therapist was very nice but talked to much like she was trying to sell the product. When the treatments were over I went to go pay. I told the receptionist about my experience and that the massage was not so long. She just stared and I ended up paying for the treatments full. Nothing was offered to me for the mistake they made. Well the best advice I can give you is to go to ELITE SPA in Rehoboth MA They are amazing. They offer you wine, food, parking, great service for FREE. Its a 10min drive out but its worth it. Pros: its downtown Cons: parking, service, not worth the price, more

The greatest massage ever! 8/7/2007

I work at a law firm in downtown providence (stress is a big part of daily life), and I first went to Spadyssey about a year ago very much in need of a massage. I had just returned from a business trip and had received an 'ok' massage while away on my trip. I was still so stressed when I came back, that I looked up day spas in providence and found that Spadyssey was just a few blocks away. After the first 5 minutes on the table in Spadyssey, I could have cried because that is how good the massage was. My tense back, neck, shoulders and legs completely melted! I was in heaven and now I am a regular customer there. Pros: Great Massages, Facials and Nails, Great Prices, Awesome Spa Parties more

Highly Recommended 7/6/2007

We had a wonderful and relaxing day! I heard many good things about Spadyssey, and now I can join those spreading the word. While Spadyssey is small, the rooms are fairly large and very relaxing. Pros: Best Massage in Rhode Island, Beautiful Rooms ~ Cons: On the Small Side for a Spa, but very much worth a visit (or two, or three :) more

Unsanitary and Unprofessional 5/23/2007

My 2 friends and I recently went to this spa and we were all very unhappy with our experience. We felt the staff were unprofessional, did not find the place to be relaxing and most importantly felt the spa was very dirty. The bathroom floors and sink were dirty, there was no hand soap in the bathroom, there were nail clippings and other small debris on the floor in the room where we had our pedicures, and the sheets and towels were stained. In addition, the quality of service was poor. During my massage, the therapist had to leave the room to go get something and then later another staff person walked into the room. The aesthetician who gave my friend a facial was unable to answer her questions and after waiting over an hour for our nails to dry, they were still tacky and dull. When I mentioned this to the receptionist as I was paying my bill, she seemed unconcerned and did not even look at my nails. She made excuses and did not apologize or offer to repaint them. She only offered to take a small amount off my bill. Cons: Unsanitary, unprofessional, poor quality of service more

Great Service 6/22/2006

I always hesitate to book massages at spas as my past experiences have usually been mediocre at best... I truly believe that to be a good massage therapist you must LOVE what you do and genuinely want to help people. So, off I went for a Swedish Massage (deep tissue) at Spadyssey. To be honest, I wasn't thrilled with the environment, as it didn't have that relaxing, zen atmosphere I expect from a good spa. I figured I would look past appearances and wait and see. Fortunately, I was mistaken! My experience was AMAZING....I had an incredible massage...the best ever. I also had a Europa facial, which was exquisite as the facialist massaged my face and neck for what seemed an eternity. I was like buttah! I would recommend Spadyssey...you are there for relaxation, not a decorating show. Pros: Friendly and skilled staff, able to fit clients in last minute, worth the money spent Cons: Waiting area lacking a certain professionalism, soundproofing and hall noise needs improvement more

Cloud 9 - Best Massages and Facials 6/5/2006

I recently graduated from Brown (Yeah!), and one of my gifts from my mother was a two's company spa package to Spadyssey. My mother is an avid spa-goer, and I've been to many with her back home in New York. We had their Massage, Facial, Signature Mani and Pedi packages, and LOVED EVERY MINUTE of it. Spadyssey isn't a mammoth spa by any means, however, they are true artisans of their craft. My mother said it was the best massage she has ever had (those words don't come easily from her). We loved our facials and nail therapy as well! My boyfriend is still in Grad School at Brown, and we will go together when I am back in town. Pros: Best Massage/Facials, Signature Nail Svc's, Professional Staff more

Uncomfortable and Unprofessional 5/22/2006

I did not enjoy my experience at Spadyssey. I felt as though it was unprofessional and thrown together. The atmosphere was not relaxing and it did not seem like a good value. My massage was mediocre at best and was uncomfortable to me. All in all the place seemed a bit weird right off the bat and no one in our group reported having a great treatment. Pros: Price was affordable Cons: Unprofessional, Uncomfortable, Poor service more

just ok 2/11/2006

I had a massage, a pedicure,a facial and a manicure..package. Cost quite a bit but I expected that. While the staff was professional..to an extent..I felt that there were areas where they lacked. For instance, the manicurist did not cut my cuticles (big part of a manicure I thought)..the owner/manager asked (out loud) how much of a tip he should add to the tab..""it's up to you""..he said from across the room..I thought he could have been more discreet. That was my experience..among other things I don't want to get into. My advice: Keep it PROFESSIONAL if you want professional crowd. I will not be returning as first impressions are hard to overcome. Pros: friendly staff Cons: maybe too friendly more

Encore! Bellisimo! 12/8/2005

We just celebrated our 6th anniversary, and each year we go to different spas (several in the U.S/a few in Europe-Asia-Africa). This year we decided to stay local and visit Spadyssey. It was an absolutely wonderful time (90 minute Hot Stone Massage, Microdermabrasion-Facial, Seaweed-Wrap [I showered after the wrap], and a Mani/Pedi. My hubby had a Deep-Tissue-Massage, Men's Hot-Towel-Facial, Shiatsu and Men's Mani/Pedi). What we loved about Spadyssey is their attention to detail, the quality of each service provided (hands down, the best massage and facial that we've had anywhere) and the high level of service that we received from the very first call to the impeccable care given to us. I have high standards, and Spadyssey lived up to those standards. We've traveled the world, yet never knew we had a gem like this right here in RI. I know what I'll be expecting for Christmas/Valentines/Bday. :-) D. Wells Pros: Great Room for Two, Great Services, Customer Service Cons: didn't want to leave more

Firendly people but mediocre experience 11/10/2005

Very nice staff, and decent massage but overall we left disappointed. For one, we had to wait about 30 minutes for our appointment. The masssage was decent, but my friend also got a facial and brow wax that were not so great. In addition to the body massage, I also got the reflexology (foot massage) and this was a big disappointment. The other frustration was there was no place to shower after the massage, so you end up leaving with the massage oil still on. The massage rooms also were too cold. I had to ask for an extra blanket. The most positive thing I can say is that the people are very nice and accomodating. I've been to many spas in several parts of the world. I won't be going back to Spaddysey. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Timeliness, Quality of massage more

Spa-tacular! 10/2/2005

The services and staff were great! I would recommend Spadyssey to anyone! It was the first spa experience for my boyfriend, and he thought it was great too. Now he is totally into the spa thing. I will be going back again, and again! P.S. We wanted to get in on a saturday or sunday, but they were booked, so we ended having to go on monday, so book early if you want weekend appointments. Pros: Incredible Services, Never more relaxed, Best Spa in RI more

Best Day Spa in Rhode Island (Providence) 9/14/2005

For my birthday, my boyfriend, my best friend and her fiance went to Spadyssey for a day of pampering and absolute luxury. The spa is beautiful and each room has uniquely decorated destination themes. The services were tops in my book, and I have been to spas in the US as well as Europe. Pros: Best in Providenc, Beautiful, Great Staff/Service more

Best Spa in Providence 9/7/2005

A visit to Spadyssey was one of the best experiences I've had. I've been a licensed massage therapist for 13 years during which time i have been a colligiate level departement head for 8 years. Through all my years in the field, and all my travel this has been the BEST massage I have ever received. Spadyssey is a beautiful spa, and they are truly skilled professionals. The facial that I had completely clear up a small rash that I had developed on my face. The esthetician knew exactly what I needed. Pros: Great Service, Charming, Clean more

spa experience 6/11/2005

My husband and I decided to purchase our longtime friend a gift certificate for her birthday. The website for the Spadyssey Spa was wonderful and we just thought that this place would be beautiful and luxurious for our friend to experience. However, when she arrived at the spa, she said that it was way too small and that it didnt look so clean. She had to wait forever to use the bathroom and I believe she also said something about the ventilation being quite poor. She appreciated our gift but she said she had to be honest with us so we don't experience that ourselves. more

Friendly but wasn't impressed 5/1/2005

This was my first experience with a spa. Though the spa was very nice and clean and the staff was amazingly friendly, I just wasn't impressed. My boyfriend and I signed up for a couple's package that involved a facial, massage, manicure, and pedicure. Though the facial felt great, when I left the minor breakout I'd come in with was red and inflamed. Two days later, my face is drier than it was before the facial and the breakout is not much improved. My boyfriend enjoyed the massage, but I'm too ticklish to properly review it. It left me more tense and sore than I'd started. The manicure/pedicure were nice but the clear coat they put on my fingernails is already chipping and every one of my fingers hurts where they cut the cuticles away. Overall, the staff was very friendly and accommodating but the services just didn't seem worthwhile. Pros: Clean, Friendly, Attractive Cons: Noisy, Cramped, Not worthwhile more

Perfect 10! What a wonderful experience! 4/5/2005

I first attended Spadyssey last year and received the best massage of my life. I've been a regular since then. The real purpose for my comments today has to do with the Spa Party that they hosted for myself, my sisters and several friends. They COMPLETELY exceeded our expectations and treated us like royalty. It was beyond any pampering experience that I have ever been a part of. The attention to detail was amazing! They covered every base, and offered every bit of assistance imaginable. Everything was perfect from the Limousine, the catered food, the instant camera's and photo album (yes, a photo album!), the BudgetingSpreadsheet, your website (that's how we selected you in the first place), your amazing staff! You made us feel at home, you made us feel like family. We are still basking in the afterglow! See you again in a few weeks! GinaFalchi (Providence, RI) Pros: Incredible Staff, Wonderful Services, Amazing and Relaxing more
