My wife and I went there along with another couple last Saturday. We were in town to see the Vikings play the next day and were looking for something fun that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. This place delivered nicely on both. more

If you enjoy a classic bowling experience this is a real gem in Minneapolis. Unlike some retro ten pin centers that seem a bit too obsessed with being kitschy and snarky, Skylanes has managed to maintain its '50's ambience without becoming a cartoon. People still bowl in leagues here and kids are welcome too. The staff is friendly and helpful. From the names of high-scorers on the walls to the cheap pitchers of beer, Skylanes is the real deal. The place is a great deal of fun, it's a bargain, it's clean, and it's close to some nice restaurants in the Keewaydin neighborhood of East Nokomis. Skylanes is a true original! Pros: Friendly service and a very fun atmosphere Cons: When busy, you may have to wait for a lane. The lanes can sometimes be a little tricky, but that's part of the fun. more
