Amazing People amazing work 4/17/2007

I had a horrible experience at a another salon where my hair was literally raped. I was so upset that I walked into the nearest salon I could find which was sirens and they were so comforting to my situation. I had really long hair, and all I wanted was a few blonde highlights and two inches off the bottom. What I got from the other salon was orange streaks and a mullet thing. Sirens helped me with getting me back to my blonde self, and they cut my hair to help cover the hole on the left side of my hair. \r \r They are such great people that I highly recommend going there, they listen and are more than willing to do whatever it takes to make you feel good about your hair. I am totally sold and will be a return customer more

RED VELVET CAKE HAIR! 3/26/2007

Boy, was I lucky to find this site and this salon! Everyone @ Sirens is *SO* nice, especially Kristen & Kirsten! They were able to fit me in right away on no notice, got me in and out in really quickly given my naturally dark and thick hair, and I got to wake up on my birthday with the most fabulous hair ever! I've gotten tons of wonderful compliments from friends and strangers -- my favorite being the red velvet cake one! It is honestly the first time I've left a salon with exactly the haircolor I've wanted -- Kirsten is the greatest! Pros: Friendly, fast, professional service! Parking in the back! more

i had the hardest time finding the right place and the right stylist until my friend referred me to kirsten cook at sirens salon. she was great! she listened to me and what i wanted, worked with my hair type and fixed the bad haircut i came in with. and my blowout lasted for 3 days! i am sending all my friends too. i would highly recommend kirsten and sirens!! Pros: very comfortable atmosphere and great service more

NO NEED FOR ANY OTHER SALON 2/8/2007

I had always wanted an afro- And Now I have one!!! I am a japanese male with stick straight hair. Jovan is so fantastic with his perms. He spent atleast 3.5 hours wrapping my hair on small pipe cleaners. He was such the trooper- All I have to say is my hair is fantastic- Honestly speaking- You cannot even tell that it is a perm as the curls start from the root to the end. I would recommend his service to anyone without any doubt! Pros: TALENT Cons: NONE more

Christin Knowz Dreadlockz 12/17/2006

Its a thursday and its been a while since I had my dreads maintained and I lost the number to my old dread spot which turned out to be a blessing because I had job training the next day and needed them to look clean, christin was so kind she opened the shop early just so she could make them look as good as she could in the hour we had, my hairs thick so i had to go back and she did an amazing job. On top of that its a cool little spot to hang out on melrose, very relaxing and easygoing cuz why be hardgoing? Now they look great and her technique is great for any head of dreads, she takes her time and is not looking to screw you at $60 an hour its the premier spot for anyone looking for those natty dreadlockz!! more

Hair ARTISTS!!! 8/18/2006

Hair ARTISTS!!! need I say more? Not only does this place have a great energy of creativity and a welcoming atmosphere....but the designers that work here are fantastic! Jovan is a talent for sure. I have been dreaming of different shaved in paterns and pictures done in on my head and he produced it flawlessly. I've never seen someone so effortlessly draw with a clipper before...and then paint it. I highly recommend this guy! I am scheduling my next visit right now. Burning man is coming up and the ideas are flowing on both sides. I can't wait to see what they have in mind this time. I give free artistic expression. I know that it will come out great. Yeagh sure I have some ideas...but I am not the artist in this department. You must go...tell all your friends. See for yourself if you don't believe me! This shop is definately on it's way to becoming the new hot spot. There will definately be a waiting list happening at this location soon enough. Supply and demand of true artistry is in the making! Pros: a establishment where you can find artists to design your hair...not just a regular cut more

Best haircut i've ever had! 8/15/2006

My hair is ultrafine...i've always had a hard time getting not only a decent haircut, but something that fits my personallity!!! Until Kristin! She works wonders with fine hair and always recommends the best products for my hair...until Kristin, my hair cuts looked raggedy and unappealing and i was never told the correct products to buy(my other stylists sold me products that weighed my hair down...). She gave my hair the pizzaz it's been waiting for all of it's tired life:) more

Have you ever gone to a salon and walked out completely unhappy ? I'm sure you have as we all have . As I walked into the door of Sirens I was instantly at ease . No uptight pretentious Hollywood salon attitude , the stylists are so friendly and courteous . The vision in my head of how I wanted my hair , Paul perfectly played out before my eyes !! Not only was it exactly what I wanted but was far beyond my expectations (or hopes) . My color has never been so bright and vibrant and my cut is amazing . I have never had so many people compliment my hair . Cars are slowing down to look at my hair and ask where I go to get my hair done . \r So if you're looking for great hair at great prices go see Paul at Sirens !!!!!!!!!!!!! Super cool, Super funky, Super fab! 8/8/2006

Just to let everbody know, Kristin (Mermaid Miss K) has the funk that everyone in LA is looking for. She will do what most stylists shy from - you name it, she'll do it better than you imagined. I recently got extensions, color, and cut done by this fabulous stylist and have not heard the end of how amazing I look! I am so happy and will never go anywhere but Sirens. if you are looking for the perfect stylist with the best personality, most funk, and your new best girlfriend, Kristin, Mermaid Miss K, is the one for you! pretty pretty hair! 8/3/2006

I don't know about you, but I am freaking terrified of finding new hairstylists. When I was ready to get rid of my dreads of three years I hadn't been to a hairstylist or salon in over 5 years. EEK!\r \r Fortunately I wandered into the right place and found Kristin! We spent, oh about 8 hours (or more) combing out my dreads and I walked out with the most amazing, perfectly coloured, healthy, and above all stylish hair cut... and some new shampoo and conditioner (quite a feat considering I hadn't owned conditioner in almost 4 years!)\r \r I've been back to get my hair done by Kristin 3 times since then and we've done everything, crazy colour, extensions, mullets and mohawks! I can't wait til my next appointment!\r Pros: amazing sense of what will work for your style, great prices, friendly friendly staff and overall just a great place to hang out! Cons: I live in Washington state and Sirens is all the way in LA! more

Highly Recommended 8/3/2006

With Kristin I never worry when I get in the chair. At other salons my hair didn't always come out the way I had hoped my instructions and general wishes would either be lost on the person or they would try to follow instructions so closely that the result was as if I had cut my own hair, and I'm not a stylist or a barber! But with Kristin I can relax and trust her skills and her sense of style to give me a great look. I just provide a basic, very general idea of what I want and I can rely on her creativity. The results have been great, I've never received so many compliments on my hair! more

This is the L.A. salon I've been looking for all my life: a great haircut with no snotty Melrose attitude or ridiculous pricetag. Kristin, the owner, is sweet, funny, fair, and highly skilled. She listens! She doesn't rip people off! She knows how to cut hair beautifully! She can do any kind of cut or color and make it look great. She knows how to hire good people, also. The salon itself is stylish, comfortable, and not affected. Art by local artists is on display. Save yourself some time and don't bother looking anywhere else. Pros: ambience, service, attitude more

Best hair stylist ever! 7/22/2006

I went to Sirens and had my hair cut by Jovan, HE IS AWESOME!!! Jovan was very nice, he knew what he was talking about. Every question or doubt I had, he knew just how to answer them. My haircut is awesome, I am very much looking forward to letting Jovan create new styles for me. I highly recommend him! Pros: Great stylist, very experienced, highly knowledgeable! Outstanding Service! 7/22/2006

We were visiting LA from Seattle and Kristin was very accomodating with our schedule. She did dreadlocks for our 13 year old son, and did a fantastic job. He's had so many compliments on them. She was great with our son and he really enjoyed the time he spent with her - he said the 4 1/2 hours went by fast. For dreads, she's the best! Her shop is very funky - I loved it. Pros: My son's dreads look better than any we've seen around (for a white kid! ). more

This place delivers premium creativity. It's cozy and brilliantly colorful. Jovan's cuts & colors are one of a kind. He has been my stylist for 3 yrs and i get at least 5 compliments a day on my hair...(not kidding- people will cross the street to compliment my hair)... Living in the world of fashion requires me to be distinguished from the crowd while simultaneously being within it. Jovan has a knack for putting his own twist on the ""in"" look. This way I have a fierce current style while still highlighting my own personal style....\r See him and everyone sees you! my hair has never looked better 7/19/2006

Kristin has been doing my hair for about 6 months and my hair has never looked better! In other salons i've paid up to & $600 for my hair and it could never compare to what kristin can do with it. Ill come to her with tons of idea's of what i want and she always know's what to do and what would look best. I have recieved so many compliments on my hair since kristin has worked on it. The salon has a great funky vibe, the art work is amazing , and so are stylist. more
