While they did an OK job on my repair, they were three times as much in cost as other places. We "had" to use their services because they were the only be in town with the proper tool. They had us over a barrel and they knew so, therefore they charged high. I could not recommend this jeweler. Pros: null Cons: null more

My husband purchased my engagement ring at Shallows and I have gone back and purchased several gifts for family and friends since then. The staff is knowledgeable and very nice. They always have a great turn around time on everything that I have had done from appraisals to resizing to special orders. This is a great local business selling quality products! more

About the person that said Shallow Jewelers exchanged their watch case back. First we never send watches out of our store. After repairs we commonly polish all watches to remove scratches, this makes a old watch look new. I have never seen a watch made of 24k gold. The watch would be too soft. This is why rings and jewelry are 10k, 14lk, or 18k gold. We are a honest, family owned business for over 75 years! Thank you, Dean Shallow owner more

Beware of gold repairs 1/5/2011

We took our grandfathers watch in to be repaired....we were assured it could be done but would be sent out. Little did we know that when it was returned.....the 24kt gold backing was replaced with 10kt gold and awfully shiny for a watch over 80 years oldworn every day by 3 generations. Of course the jewleler hadnt written down any proof of the kt of gold so we were screwed royally!!!!! We didnt realize gold was being pilfered due to its high value right now. Now, maybe the jeweler didnt steal it but whomever they sent it to......did. Make sure you have them mark everything down possible to avoid being cheated. more

Great Jewelers 10/16/2008

My husband purchased my wedding ring there. I go in every six months to have the diamond checked and cleaned. I also had another ring made from some small diamonds my mother had. They clean both rings. A very friendly staff. more

watch 10/8/2007

My mom bought my dad's watch here. She just recently gave me his watch and I took it in to have a battery replaced. They cleaned it up for me and even made the band smaller for no extra charge. It was in pretty bad shape when I took it in. more

Best Place to Shop 12/29/2005

We had gotten a necklace appraised there and the turn around time was fast. The appraisal was very detailed and even laminated. They do examine your wedding rings ect when you are there & they noticed my stone was starting to come loose and I promptly had it repaired before the stone was lost. The sales person on another occasion had asked us when we were getting married & told us to keep the sku's of the rings we liked because they were going to have a sale a month before we were getting married & we could save some big $ by waiting. more
