old-fashioned barber 8/17/2005

scissor-hand not only has a great name, but also the great atmosphere of a good, old-fashioned barber shop, complete with the candy striped poles. unfortunately, they don't give the greatest haricuts, and the prices are a little high for men's haircuts - about twenty dollars. they're better with shorter men's haircuts than longer ones. more

scissor-hands 8/10/2005

So I finally talked my boyfriend into growing his hair out, and by the end of the summer it was inching towards his shoulders. So we went in to get "just a trim" as they say...long story short, he walked out with an 80s mullet--no, not the big frizzy Adam Curry kind, but the slick shapely Duran Duran version. Of course, I've had worse haircuts, so they still get 2 stars. more

Scissor-Hand 8/8/2005

Scissor-Hand is the only place i have gotten my haircut in providence, and they do a good job. However, I am not used to paying this much for a haircut (cost around 20$ for the basic), but I suppose it is average for prices around here. People are very friendly, and they have a wide selection of hair products as well. No need to call ahead. more
