NO HELP, VERY LITTLE COMPASSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4/1/2009

On January 31st 2009 my girl friend put down $7000.00 and leased a brand new Acura MDX. On Feb 3rd. 2009 she pass away. I dealt with Zeke the manger and Mike Maross the salesman, who were both very friendly and helpful during the whole selling us the car process. When I called Mike and Zeke to tell them about what happened, They said they were sorry to hear about it, and gave some typical car salesman song and dance about tax, licensing and drive off fees, but there was nothing they could do and it was out of there hands. they passed me off to the Acura leasing dept. I think it is Honda America. So basically the car was driven 20 miles and leased for 1 month. for $7000.00 I believe her family is owed some kind of refund. Best Dealership I've Ever Been To. Best Prices, Honest Salesmen, Great Staff, Great Cars. 1/18/2009

I just bought a gorgeous certified 2005 Acura TL, and my experience at this dealership was great. From doing my research, the cars at Acura Santa Monica are the most affordable I've seen in terms of used car dealerships like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Acura, etc. The service was impeccable! My husband and I actually worked with two really great salesmen by the names of Michael Maross and Amir, and both were very honest about the cars and made the application and purchasing process a very smooth process. I definitely recommend either salemen if you come to this dealership (they were even there to answer questions after the transaction was finished, which is rare). Pros: Great prices, great service, honest salesmen. more

Sabotage! 7/8/2008

After purchasing backup sensors with installation at the Acura online E-Store for Santa Monica Acura, I contacted the dealership to confirm and found out the the online deal was much cheaper than what they normally charge. I went in for the service and got the backup sensors, but the car was scratched all over the trunk and side panels, and grease was all over the area too. I came back and Acura had a body shop buff out the scratches and fix it, but, they also buffed a plastic part around the fog lamp, which made it look horrible. So I went back to get that replaced, and they did. Days later it started raining and I noticed my windshield wipers were gone. I believe there is sabotage going on at this dealership and it started from the moment I got my "good deal" online. They scratched my trunk on purpose, and stole my wipers too. NOT a good place to get service done. Apparently they have no control over their repair staff, who get away anything they want. more

Santa Monica Acura ripped me off. I trusted them for service and now they are refusing to honor a warranty agreement. I paid 1800 dollars for a clutch and that went bad in THREE months. Now they are refusing to replace it. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. more

What a nightmare... 4/24/2008

I've had the absolute worst possible experience purchasing a car from Santa Monica Acura. Everyone at this dealership gives you a different answer depending on who are you talking to. They called me non-stop before I made my purchase, now if I have a question I have to call and leave message after message and am lucky to get a response. The car I purchased wasn't even detailed, had scratches all over it (not visible when I purchased it at night) and still had glue stuck to the panels that is applied for shipping purposes. They also didn't follow through with what was originally promised for my trade in by doing some crazy car salesmen number manipulating. Every car I've purchased was a Honda/Acura product and I know that my problems have been with this particular dealership and not Honda themselves. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this dealership! Learn from my mistake and shop at the next closest which I believe is in Glendale. No dealership is perfect, but take a look at more

Rude, unprofessional, and dishonest. Not recommended. 4/4/2008

I agree with the others who gave negative reviews and suspect that the dealership wrote the positive ones. I had trouble getting any one to help me, either on the phone or when I came in person. The sales people seemed inexperience, unprofessional, and just rude. I was given false information about a car over the phone, I suspect just to get me to come in (similar to what another reviewer reported). Generally, the place seems a bit 'slimey' (for lack of a better word). I wouldn't give them your business. They certainly lost mine. The one positive thing is that the general manager did apologize for the treatment I got, which I appreciated. more

BUYER BEWARE! 3/5/2008

I bought a ""new"" sports car here that had in fact sustained front end damage as well as engine damage before it was fixed up with replacement parts and put on the new car lot. I only found out when I decided to sell and had it inspected by a major appraiser near the airport, who showed me all the tell-tale signs. The car was worth about $8,000 less than it would have been without prior damage. Pros: Convenient Location Cons: SELL REFURBISHED CARS AS NEW more

I WAS A LITTLE SKEPTICAL WHEN I WENT IN AND THE FIRST PERSON I MET WAS KRIS GARWICK, I WAS SHOCKED, HE WAS ONE OF THE NICEST CAR SALESMEN I HAVE EVER MET, VERY LOW PRESSURE AND VERY HONEST, I LEFT AND CHECK EVERTHING HE SAID, IT WAS ALL TRUE AND WAS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIANCES I HAVE HAD. more

Only Good Experiences 3/8/2007

I have to wonder about some of the mean-spirited reviews in this list. It's like they were written or arranged for by another (competitive) car dealer. They certainly don't resemble my experiences. I purchased my TL from Santa Monica Acura because they offered me the best deal and even though my particular package wasn't in their inventory, they found the car for me within six hours. Robert, the service rep I use, is always helpful and knowlegeable. My overall impression is that they go out of their way to accommodate customer needs, are courteous and provide outstanding service. What more can you ask for? more

Worst Dealership Ever. Rude. Unprofessional. 1/8/2007

I had the worst customer service experience in my life at Santa Monica Acura. The salesman, financial manager, and car manager Kris Garwick was full of lies, was disrespectful, and rude to me and my family. I was ready to purchase a vechile at their dealership but they refused to keep their word on a deal, lied about a car they had in stock just to get us there, and treated us poorly. \r \r I strongly urge anyone looking for a new or used car to avoid Santa Monica Acura, espcially their manager Kris Garwick. I've honestly never experienced such disrespect and rude customer service in my life. They don't deserve your business. Stay away! more

2002 3.2 tl type s acura transmission 6/26/2006

Bought my car from them 10/05 with 44k on it. Its now 6/06 and I need a new transmission because this one has gone bad. Transmissions should last longer than 54k. They checked it and will be replacing it for free and giving me a loaner for the week. Seems like a long time to replace a transmission. PROS: Good service, prices are standard for dealer. CONS: Transmission fails at 54k? Not the dealers fault. more

Pushy sales people 6/1/2006

He was the most annoying pushy car saleman i have ever met. Yes they have to push the sale, but to a certain point. I mean we test drove this car and the air conditioning didnt work! I mean that is a red flag there are problems with the card. He would not let us leave or call later. Do not get roped in here! more

Santa monica acura salesroom is a bit ghetto. In order to try to get the biggest cut out of the sale as they could, they said there was no such type of car with leather seats and that they would gladly give us leather seats for an extra fee. That way they keep all of the sale and make more money from the seats. Greed lost them their sale that day. more

good service department for the most part 3/14/2005

Depending on which 'service sales guy' you get, the service department is reliable. For a dealership, the oil change prices can't also be beaten. (usually around 20-27) I've gotten almost all of my oil changes and maintenances done here for the past few years. For the most part - I've gotten what I requested. Be sure to call ahead for an appointment and a quote on exactly what you're bringing your car in for. A few times, I've gotten a sales guy that adds on to my 'recommended' services that he's tacked on after I arrive at the dealership. more

I bought my first car here. It was pre-owned though. Let me tell you; everything broke on that car! e.g. the transmission, starter, ignition, CD player, and some other parts that I didn't even know that cars had, like ludnuts and water pump cap. I almost purchased another vehicle there, but the salesman didn't offer me a test drive, so I went to a different Acura dealership. more
