I am new to the Sugarhouse area and thought that I had discovered a gem when I first went here. My first visit was for lunch and I immediately came back with my wife and we both ...

Thanks for wasting our time and money! 11/30/2010

My wife and I used to love this place but in the past year the quality of food, and service, has deminished. We will not be going back! We went in on a Monday around 5:30 waited 1 hr and 15 min for our food which was luke warm at best, and very low quality. Our waitress, kept telling us that the long wait was because it was Monday night football at Fiddlers Elbow( the restaurant attached to SLPP) so I guess if you go on Monday go to Fiddlers Elbow to get your food and maybe descent service! To top it all off we had ordered a pizza to go, we ordered a 14"" pizza, we were in such a hurry to get out of the place, we didn't even look at it till we got home it was a 10"" pizza and looked like an 8 year old had made it. more

Sunday Breakfast a winner 3/29/2010

Love the basic Sunday breakfasts, especially the veggie omelet. It's consistently well prepared (loaded with artichoke) and served hot, and comes with fresh fruit. Toast is fresh and tasty and generously buttered - I suggest you order butter on the side. The music is sometimes hard to bear, though, and it's loud enough to not be able to ignore. Some Sundays it's loud and obnoxious distortion guitar and neo-garage metal band, other Sundays it's reasonably pleasant oldies pop. I guess you can't please everybody, but turning it down would go a long way toward that. Pros: consistent quality, hot and reasonably priced Cons: background music in your face, sometimes more

Good food, terrible service 2/5/2010

We just went to SLP&P for the 2nd time in as many months--we had terrible service the first time, but the black bean sauce pizza is interesting. Our friends told us it was an anomaly so we gave it one more try. And one more time we had appalling service. It wasn't bad, it was *terrible!* We didn't get waters after 20 minutes, the appetizer was delivered with no side plates, the server didn't bring meals out together w/many minutes in between loads and appeared to have misplaced one meal completely (with no apology.) When I asked for side plates and water at the bar when our server was out of site, I was ignored. Even though it was clear to multiple employees that our table wasn't pleased, no one asked us if things were okay or if we needed anything. *Never* again--I can go to a competing pizza restaurant (sette bello, Vinto, etc) and make black bean sauce at home! Pros: Cool black bean sauce pizza Cons: Appalling service--not worth it more

I love this place 6/26/2009

I love this place..the service is always the best and the food is always so delishious. I am a fan of the butternut squash ravioli when they have it and they have kids meal for the kids. I always look forward to going there. Pros: Best pizza in town more

Great Micro Beer selection 6/11/2008

I thought the service and food were great. They also had a very good micro brew collection from around the state. The place is relatively small and cozy. I would recommend this to anyone looking for great pizza or salads. Pros: Brew ha has more

You are kidding right??? 5/31/2008

After reading some good reviews about this place my family and I decided to check it out. The other reviews stated that this was the best pizza in SLC and they had all had NY and Chicago Pizza and it ranks right up there. Well, it must have been the owner writing that review!!!! To be honest, if you want good pizza, this is NOT the place to go. I would agree they have a good atmosphere, however, the Pizza is on Par with Little Ceasers or Tomestone frozen Pizza. There is a few good places in Draper if you really want Pizza that is close to Chicago or NY style. I grew up in Chicago and lived in NY for sometime. Both cities have excellent Pizza, SLC does not. Do not waste your time. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Pizza more

A great place. Go? Yes! 3/21/2008

We were in town to ski and looking for a great pizza in a relaxing atmosphere. We didn't have a car and we were relying on the TRAX and bus. We called for directions and the manager, Pepe vectored us in. We jumped on the light rail, connected with the bus and arrived in about 30 minutes. The restaurant was crowded so we asked to sit at the bar. We sat, ordered quickly and in within minutes we had a great salad and cold drinks. We ordered a large pizza (1/2 sausage & 1/2 peperoni) that came within 10 minutes (restaurant was packed). The pizza was fantastic...NY style crust, thin but still plenty of body that was topped with just the right blend of marinara and cheese. The topings were fresh and real. Atmosphere is as good as the pizza, nice buzz but not too loud. Not sure if I will ever be back in SLC but if I am, Salt Lake City Pizza and Pasta will be one of the places I visit. Pros: Great Pizza more

Just okay... 11/21/2007

Nothing really stands out at this casual pizza joint. The pizzas are okay but better, brick-oven styles can be found throughout town. A couple of the pasta dishes pass but this is probably a place best-suited for teenagers or non-foodies who are on a budget. Pros: Ample parking behind Fiddler's Elbow Cons: Food is just so-so more

Amazing food - Terrible Service (understaffed?) Not worth the headache if you are entertaining 12/27/2006

I am new to the Sugarhouse area and thought that I had discovered a gem when I first went here. My first visit was for lunch and I immediately came back with my wife and we both loved their food for dinner (esp. the wings!). However, we have been getting consistently poorer service every time we have gone back. I now have attempted to take 2 different groups of friends and both my family and my wife's, and all have left utterly frustrated at the lack of attention from the waiters/waitresses. On our last visit, we even stood at the entrance and watched where each waiter's sections was and sat with the person that we thought could redeem our displeasure from previous visits. Pros: Pizza (dried tomato and garlic, BBQ Chicken) Great for a game Good beer selection Cons: ""We're short staffed tonight"" is everynight. They'll forget the wings, and drinks, and silverware... more

Comfort food and relaxing atmosphere 11/3/2006

I've been to SL Pizza and Pasta many times since I moved here. There are many things to love. You seat yourself in the comfortable booths. Their soups change daily and are divine. I have never had a bad meal. This is a great place to visit when you are tired, don't feel like cooking, and want to have a really low-stress, comfortable meal. more

Best Wings and Best Service in Utah 7/23/2006

My husband and I have gone here countless times: as a couple, with large groups of friends and family and during all different times of the day- the service and the quality of food never falters. The Wings here kick butt!! Forget Wingers- if you want the best spicy buffalo wings in Utah this is the place to come. And the pizza has always been top notch. The best part is- It is so reasonably priced!! I high HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant and small- never gets too loud or too crowded. I love this place and will continue to go back many many times. Pros: Price, Wings, Service more

the best of the best 11/30/2005

WINGS ARE A MUST 8/12/2004

Once you have had the wings from SLP&P you will never be able to find any others as good. My husband and I make it a point to try wings wherever we go - only because the wings at SLP&P are THAT GREAT. We've been all over the US and we have never had wings that are as good. We can't suggest anything else because we get the same thing every time - tomato basil linguini with a side of wings. If it ain't broke.....!!!!! Pros: HOT WINGS!, TOMATO/BASIL, HOT WINGS!!! more

YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE! 6/24/2004

Visit: Friday, June 25 2004. 8:45PM SLP&P is hard to find, but it's hooked on to The Fiddler's Elbow so just look for the big neon ""Fiddler's"" sign. I had the 14"" mushroom and pepperoni pizza. It was amazing! The crust was thin just like pizzas in Italy. The mushrooms were fresh, not from a can. The flavors were outstanding. The pizza was light and crisp, not heavy and saturated in cheese and toppings like Pizza Hut or Domino's. My wife had the 9"" spinach chicken. It had an alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce, red and green onions, bacon, chicken, spinach, garlic and cheese. It was an amazing combination of flavors: creamy, smoky, garlicy. It was so good! Pros: prices, menu selection, atmosphere more

ohhh so good!!!! 12/19/2003

This place is the best... We love to go as a family and even when it just my husband and I. The food is great and so is the service. They alway fix a special pasta greek pasta that is wonderful.. They had it on special once now we ask if they can fix it all the time if you want something wonderful ask for the greek pasta and you won't be disappointed. more

Where's Our Radio? 12/27/2002

I'm from out of town, but lived in SLC for awhile. SL Pizza and Pasta was one of my favorite places! I would travel there just for the wings... I've never had any like them. They are delicious! The Buffalo Chicken and Barbecue Chicken pizzas are mighty tasty and the atmosphere is fun. However, last time we ate there, our stereo and all our CDs were stolen out of our car... So, my advice would be to park near plenty of light and where there is plenty of traffic. This is not the best part of town. Pros: Delicious Wings!, Wonderful Pizzas Cons: no more stereo more

Unique and tasty food 11/15/2002

Great service - ask for Erica! Some of the best food I've had! The Elk sausage was terrific! They have the best Calamari I've had since I was in New Orleans! Pros: Great food, Unique dishes more

perfect pasta/ great service 11/6/2002

My husband and I dined here for the first time in years and it was fantastic. The pasta (fet. contadina)was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spices. I enjoyed the wine list and my husband enjoyed the wide variety of micro brews. I really enjoyed the booths and atmosphere there with historical photos of the Sugar House area on the walls. I commented to our server (who was great by the way) that the portions were too large to finish and she said that most people say that. So in closing, great food, great service, nice atmosphere, and value as well S.L. Pizza/Pasta is my vote for the best restaurant in Salt Lake! Pros: Inexpensive, Intimate, something for everyon more

Fun ..Adult hang-out 10/24/2002
