I went with a friend and we shared an insane amount of sushi. more

I love that I can get my own salad and soup. I love miso soup and I can drink several bowls of it. I also love the fried calamarie. So many sushi choices - really great. They keep it coming - which is so nice and fresh! more

Good, not great 7/18/2011

I have been goign to this place for 6 years now. It does not have the best sushi, but it does have the best prices and the food is really good. The buffet is great if you want to try and bunch of different menu items. I have eaten at this restaurant dozens of times and never experienced anything like the bad reviews that were given here. The bathroom could use a little sprucing up. The booths could be a little newer. The food is good. The service is....ok. Sometimes it is hard to get a check or to get your drink refilled. Years ago, it was much much better and a very booming place on Friday and saturday nights. more

STAY AWAY, seriously 10/7/2010

horrible horrible place. Just went there on Saturday. I am being nice by giving them one star for the crab sticks but everything else was horrible. I ordered the teriyaki lunch special and it did not taste like teriyaki so I sent it back. After I sent the meal back, a cook (who turned out to be the OWNER!!) came over with a rude demeanor asking me why did I send this whole plate back? I said because it wasn't good. The cook/owner continued to badger me about why would I send back an entire plate of good food and mumbled as he walked away- ""Just a waste"".... WHO DOES THIS TO A PAYING CUSTOMER. As this point, Ill bad mouth this place every time I hear its name. I will be going to the other locations, not this one in Marietta. more

Food and Service Horrible........STAY AWAY 9/1/2009

My partner and I went to Ru'San's on Windy Hill Rd twice in one week and service was still the same each time. We walk in and we are seated and the server's forget you're there. They don't smile and they're not attentive at all. We thought it was just the 1st time this happened, but it was both times. If you ask for lemons, they bring you limes and don't ask for an extra one, they look at you like you're crazy. Then you don't get everything you ordered. They just throw the plate on the table to you and don't come back to make sure you're ok or see if you need something. We only order Tempura (fried) stuff because we just didn't trust the raw stuff. And after all that, they expect a TIP.....PLease.....Never GO TO RU'SAN'S WINDY HILL. Why are they still being allowed to use Ru'San's name if it's not the same owner. This location gives them a BAD NAME. But I must say that the Ru'San's on Moreland is very GOOD. Cons: Place is old, servers not nice at all, food not hot more

Amazing service... 12/18/2008

Went here for the first time w/ a group last weekend, and I coudlnt get over how I had lived in the neighborhood for so long and had never heard of this little gem. Located in the Kinko's shopping center off Windy Hill and Cobb, I must have walked by it 1000 times before and never paid much notice. But the food was good, the atmosphere merry, and we had a great time. You can choose to sit around the grill, and watch the cook personally prepair your meal--which I recommend, because they put on a show at the same time...awesome and very entertaining!! But what really made this RuSan's stand out against other Japanese restaurants that offer similar services was the Manager...he walked around to every table, checking in w/ everyone, laughing w/ everyone, and making sure everything was exactly as we wanted. He really made the experience... Pros: attentive and personable service Cons: was a little cold (temperature wise.) more

Crawling creature at Rusan's-marietta 12/5/2008

I ate at Rusan's in Marietta today. I was sitting at the Sushi bar when a creature (this site will not let me write the what exactly it was, but let's say it is large and they typically run away when you turn the lights on) crawled on the counter where my plate was. I told the Sushi chefs and they laughed and pretended to stab the ___ with a knife one was holding. I walked up to the hostess, told her there was a ____ on my table and left the restaurant. I almost threw up several times on the way to my car. I was a frequent diner at this restaurant-at least twice per month. I will not go back there. more

Great food, but.... 11/12/2008

The food I've had was great every time: spinach gomai, kimchee, hamachi kama, futomaki, Asian salads, but single diners beware: the chefs won't shout a ""welcome/hello"" greeting to you while certain waitstaff treat you like an annoying interruption to their day. I believe it's because they know I never consume more $15 worth of food although the minimum is $10, so they're not making the tips they want, though I do tip a minimum of 20%. If that stigma was not held against me as a single diner and they would lose the greedy attitude, then they would have my business every week. Instead, I just stopped going. Too bad, because I miss the food. Pros: Great food, great menu variety Cons: discriminating service, bitter waitstaff more

Became Non-Rusan's after the place was sold 9/17/2008

This Rusan's was already sold to somebody and not owned or supervised by Rusan, the original founder of Rusan's franchise to keep the quality of food and service good. So food is less fresh, service and server's attitude is bad, There are always something they don't have on the menu, but they keep the same menu without the inventory anyway. After this Rusan's sold to somebody, we no longer have any pleasant experience here. more

Fresh, tasty sushi/a pleasant place to eat 4/15/2008

I have eaten here several times and I've really enjoyed it. The food is excellent, the sushi fresh and delicious, and the service friendly and efficient. The prices are low and it the menu is incredibly diverse. This is a very plesant place to enjoy fresh sushi for a very reasonable price. Pros: food, service, price more

Bad experienced 3/30/2008

We are a sushi lover and we always go to sushi place all over the town and we prefer go to Rusan's restaurants. Rusan's Buckhead and Kennesawis still the best. Windy Hill is the worst. Since they have a new management that place is going downhill. I taste the fish is not fresh (It could be happen if they used frozen fish), the manager over there is very rude (old man) and they have raised mostly of the price but they don't maintain the food quality. Stay away from Sushi Buffet!! It's better you eat at the hibachi table or order from the kitchen. I wish Mr Ru can do something about this matter. Pros: Other RuSan's Cons: Poor Food Quality more

Best sushi and good atmosphere..! 3/26/2008

I eat Rusans windy hill very often. food is always good but i dont believe on the above reviews written by former employee. he only work there three weeks. i saw there some chef work very long time and very friendly also. i went to restaurant and told about the bad reviews to sushi chefs. they told me that he got fired coz he make nasty sushi and alot of complain from customers about his sushi. Reason he wrote this bad review coz he got fired and upset. To everybody, Rusans food is great and price is reasonable. more

Always recommended. 3/26/2008

I was just going through the reviews posted in city search and was so surprised to read the review given by jongen about my favorite restaurant Rusan's. I was really surprised to see it. Because I have been going to Rusan's for almost 3 years since I moved to Atlanta. I always sit in the sushi bar where I get to see the chef making the sushi from a clear view. I have always found them very attentive and professional. And trust me their sushi is the best . And their price is always great. I would recommend this place for the sushi savvy who are seeking for a hip and happening environment. Pros: Great value more

Great sushi, Happy staff 3/23/2008

I eat here about once a week and really like it. I don't understand the above reviews, other than that one is obviously a disgruntled former employee, and another is written in language that is remarkably similar to that one. I am ALWAYS seated promptly and cheerfully. I have found the staff to be consistently attentive, when needed, without being gratuitously obtrusive. In my experience the food has always been served promptly, and is consistently fresh and delicious, made in the kinds of unique preparations RuSan is known for. And the prices are quite reasonable. It's a homey, happy place. I highly recommend it. Pros: good food, pleasant staff, friendly ambience, lots of parking convenient location more
