Since, they moved to new location, I guess their expense gone up too !! as they have raised their prices almost by \r 30 % percent,, which probably would be okay\r if their food was as good too, well , its not, as a matter of\r fact every body is complaining about the food taste...\r All I could say, is that the Décor !!! is nice , and that's all.\r So I wish 'em good luck ....... more

Best Persian in Atl by far.... 2/28/2012

I have been to Rumi's monthly/weekly for years. The quality and consistency of the food exceeds most fine dining restaurants in Atlanta. Preparing Persian food takes quite a bit of time so check times are longer here than other places, but it is worth the wait. I personally have not had a service problem and the rare instance when a dish is not correct it is fixed immediatly. My family is very picky and the staff has always gone out of their way to meet our requests. If you haven't tried Rumi's you are missing out on something special. more

Great Persian Food 10/3/2010

I went here with my sister and loved it. I would totally recommend Rumi's Kitchen. The ambiance is cool and the service is excellent. If you have never tried persian food and would like to venture off the path, I would tell you to start here. Their eggplant appetizer (Kashk Badenjoon) is the best. And for the main entree - order chicken kabobs - yum! more

Great food 12/19/2009

I am a regular at Rumi's and we are always treated like a guest in someone's home. They have some great sandwiches for lunch and the shrimp at dinner are some of the best we have ever eating. The only thing is for dinner sometimes even when we make a reservation we have to wait but it's worth it the food is that good! I suggest you try it , some of the best food in town. Pros: Best persian restaurant Cons: Hard to get a reservation, the place is always busy more

Great Experience 12/19/2009

I just came from Iran about a year ago. I've been looking for a great Persian restaurant and I came across Rumi's. It honestly is the best Persian food in Atlanta. The atmosphere is very lively and positive. The servers couldn't be better and everyone is so friendly and warm. The food and the service is absolutely Exquisite. I highly recommend this restuarant. more

BEST IN TOWN 12/17/2009

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service and even better food. Expect complimentary valet parking. Enjoy!!! Pros: food, atmosphere, service more

Exceptional Food 12/15/2009

This place has amazing food. I was a little skeptical about eating at a Persian restaurant but the lamb fell off the bone and the rice was awesome. I also tried some Kabob and that was amazing as well. Pros: Food Cons: none. more

Awesome 8/1/2009

What a great amazing surprise for our lunch.. Will be back for more. Pros: Such a great place, great food, great prices more

fabulous food 4/3/2009

I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but the ovecrowded ness in such a small place with waiters running around and management and hostess constantly running around the tables with worried and confused faces gets to be very annoying. But the delicious the food is soooo out of this world that we go back over and over again despite those issues. They are consistent in quality, taste, and presentation. Pros: consistency in food excellence Cons: inconsistency in management service and booking more

Great food, terrible service 3/20/2009

When this place first opened, it was so great. Reasonable lunch prices with high quality food. Dinner has always been expensive, but the quality of the food kind of dictated it. Service was never great, but it used to be acceptable. Then prices started going up. If prices go up, then OK service doesn't cut it. But I would settle for OK service considering how amateurish the service can get. What was inexcusable was the service getting worse and inconsistency in the quality of the food. They would cut corners in areas like the baby spinach that would accompany your kabobs. The quality was definitely down. Also, while most of the time, the lamb kabobs would be great, there were a couple of times in recent months when I was shorted on the quantity and one time the quality wasn't as good. Still quality of the food is really good on the average. Their CHICKEN BARG is excellent with a rich flavor and is easily better than the similar chicken kabob which is also served. In response to one of the reviewers here, you are not alone. One of my friends got an extra charge for lentil rice because he said ""OK"" when a server asked if he would like lentil rice instead of white rice. He was never told it was extra. The waitresses are inattentive. They seem overwhelmed. Rumis needs to hire a couple more waiters considering that despite the bad service they still get a tremendous amount of business. Upscale clientele. You will see a lot of luxury cars in the lot. I find the bad service odd considering the owner is very personable. But he has done a bad job passing that on to the day to day managers. Pros: The meat Cons: Service, Price, Service, Congested, Service more

Okay- okay for food .. 3/15/2009

We went there on our anniversary and it was such a dumb choice we made to go there, for the first and the last time ever !! Our food choice was okay but ofcourse service was pathetic. There is no one server for one table. You ask for one thing to one server and someone else bring's out the thing. Ofcourse, that is not a problem till they start charging you for the thing you asked as a replacement. We asked to change the rice and our understanding was that they are replacing it but they charged us for 2 different rices. Than we asked for a spicy sauce/dipping sauce and they brought out something like a pickle and on top of that they charged us for that. How ridiculous !! Definitely, would not go there again... Please , make sure you look at your bill and take care of it there itself...or better off, not going to the restaurant. Go to some other place.....lots of the out there .. Pros: Good for nothing !! Cons: Waste of money .. more

From a Regular's Perspective... 3/8/2009

I have been a huge fan of Rumi's Kitchen from the very beginning. I love their food and always get exceptional service from the friendly staff. The owner is very passionate about what he does and it is obvious in the excellent presentation. If only he were around to supervise more to see that his restaurants image is being destroyed by who he puts in charge. I am appalled by the new management. It seems as though he has no clue what is going on or the beauty of persian cuisine and fine dining service. ""Hans"" (CLEARLY not his persian name) is oblivious. I was dining with my wife and children when this ""superior"" was running around the dining room yelling at every server to find a server to take a to-go order. In the five minutes it took him to find a server (who were respectively busy with tables), and bother the customers, he could have taken it himself. The restaurant is too intimate to have such chaos and have him rattle everyones names. It disturbed me so much I asked my server who he was and that's when she said Hans was the new manager. I couldn't help but continue to notice him all evening and his ridiculous outbursts. It is very apparent he has NO idea how to run a restaurant. The owner needs to be very careful with who is in charge because at this rate, customers will decrease. Food is great, but not worth coming into that chaotic, unprofessional, unpeaceful environment. When I pay for a $20+ meal I shouldn't have to deal with a boss running around the small restaurant looking for petty things. Before this ""new management"" we were all fond fans of Rumi's Kitchen. I'm praying that the owner opens his eyes and realizes the decline in quality service. We would love to come back as regulars under new management, but for now we will choose a more relaxing atmosphere where the manager has been trained to be professional so I can enjoy my meal. Pros: Food and wait staff Cons: Management, ambience, too much commotion, not peaceful more

Rudest service in world taints food 10/25/2008

I've been to this place a few times before and enjoyed the tender kebabs, appetizers and fresh Persian bread. My last experience there turned me off for life though. We made reservations for an early dinner, sat down and engaged in our meal. We'd been there about 35 minutes and had just finished our meal when our server cleared our plates. He asked if there'd be anything else. We stated that we were fine for now and expected him to leave us to finish our drinks. Instead he said, ""We have a large group with a reservation and we need you to finish up."" Holy moly! I was so surprised and appalled at this comment that I just wanted out, so I paid and even left a tip to that insolent person called a waiter. If I hadn't been so surprised, I would have spoken to the manager and complained vehemently about the fact that we indeed had a reservation before the ""large"" group showed up. Not to mention, we had only been there about half and hour. Unbelievable, really. Never go to this restaurant. They are greedy, money-grubbing and constantly declining in quality of food and service. Pros: Appetizers Cons: Service, Parking, High priced hunks of meat more

stay for the food, not the service 8/23/2008

went for a friend's birthday with a party of 9. we had a reservation and was 10 minutes late but had to wait an additional 30-40 minutes to get our table. they ran out of wine glasses so my wine came in a tall tumbler drinking glass instead. my other friend didn't even get the wine that she ordered and the waitress was not quick to fix it. the major problem was that she only concentrated on 3 out of the 9 members of our party. I think the manager even told her at one point that she needed to go check in on another table. not all was forgiven when our food arrived but the food was excellent, the platter appetizer is excellent. everyone liked their main dish too and we pretty much got one of everything on the list. bottom line, go for the food not the service. more

The worst Persian Food + horrible service+raw food = bad restaurant 7/27/2008

Me and couple of friends of mine went out last Friday and wanted to have dinner before we went out to the bars the bars..so we decided on a Persian restaurant located in Sandy Springs call Rumi's Kitchen..now i have been to many Persian restaurant and specially ""Prespolis"" on Roswell which happen to be on of my favorite place The food The staff and The service is excellent..but my friend wanted to go there so off we went..we got there the parking spaces was limited and on top of that we had to pay valet to park but that was ok comparing to the nightmare that we encounter after worse\r First we waited for 20 minutes for the waiter to show up and then another half for the food to get to our table and it was not even cook all the way so we send it back and still was not cook enough my friend had a Kabob and he got sick later on and i had the diareah and i think the food we had got us all sick..so we contacted the owner and spoke with someone other then the owner and they said they will get back with..but nothing happened and no one got back with us,,i will never go back to that restaurant and i told all my friends about the bad experience and the nightmare we had overthere.\r we should have went to ""Prespolis where the food is great and the service id top noch""and the prices are very reasonable ..That shows you that Fancy Decor and Valet Parking such as Rumi's Kitchen does not make a restaurant.Sorry Prespolis we will be back to see you soon.\r BE AWARE more

The Absolute Heavenly Experience in Dining 4/8/2008

After almost a year and a half of dining at Rumi's Kitchen at least 3-4 times a month, it's amazing that my husband and I still can not choose our favorite items on the menu. We have to admit that all the meals we have had at Rumi's have been exceptionally delicious. The exceptionally delicious meals along with the attentive and personable wait staff as well as the cozy and romantic atmosphere truly create a heavenly dining experience for us which we obviously can not get enough of...Rumi's Kitchen is our most favorite Restaurant and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is up for an exceptionally wonderful dining experience which is by the way, exceptionally affordable too! Make sure to call in your reservation, especially on the weekends, if you don't want to wait too long because apparently Rumi's Kitchen is no longer the secret hideaway of Sandy Springs. We often run into our friends from all over Atlanta. See you there. Pros: Food, Ambience, Service, Valet parking, Great prices Cons: Seriously, I can not think of any! more

Great Customer Service and Cultural Dining Experience! 4/8/2008

At first glance, Rumi's Kitchen seemed like any other restaurant in metro Atlanta. To my surprise, within the small locale, the operator and staff managed to offer a great dining experience with exceptional service and attention. From beginning to end, the cultural exchange was fantastic--the food was great, the atmosphere was surprisingly very friendly, inviting and cozy, considering such close quarters. Rumi's Kitchen successfully meets and exceeds expectations, from service to exceptional attention to detail, and their ability to add a personal touch to every dining experience. For those hungry for something different, Rumi's Kitchen is an exceptional experience that brings all things Persian, right around the corner. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Parking more
