Awesome! 2/3/2008

I took a school group and the tour was fantastic. The children loved the entire experience. The tour guides were understanding and tried to answer all of the students questions. The finale was the best part for the children. This tour peaked their interest in exploration and geology. The bathrooms were clean and the gift shop was a hit. more

Beautiful falls, long, cramped walk 4/30/2007

The falls at the back of the cave are beautiful, but the long, narrow walk in and out is pretty miserable. This is a very crowdy, very touristy location. If you're looking for a relaxing, natural cave opt for something like Cathedral Caverns in Grant, Ala. more

Nice tourist attraction 3/22/2006

We recently visited Ruby Falls. It was okay, but I had read on yahoo that you get herded down into the caverns and back like cattle. And yes to confirm, YOU DO!!!\r \r The tourguide was so generic. Nothing spectacular. The tickets were included with our hotel stay. So the price wasnt too bad. But it wasnt all that great.\r \r It kept the kids busy. I dont like the way they get you down in the caverns and first thing, take your photo and as soon as you come out they run show you your photo and request $15.\r \r Other than that it was okay. PROS: Keeps the kids busy CONS: Souvineer photos not great and its so rush rush more

Fun family outing-can be scary for young children. 11/30/2005

We took our in-laws here when they came to visit. It was interesting if you like that sort of thing. I think its a do it once only activity and I don't see myself going back. It was fun being underground, but my child was pretty scared going down on the elevator. If you are at all claustrophobic, you may want to think twice. I hear they have a great christmas light show and we are debating checking that out this year. more

Incredible sight! 11/28/2005

I've taken my children to the underground tour of Ruby falls a couple of times now and it hasn't failed to delight either time. An elevator takes you deep underground where a knowledgable tour guide takes you through a cavern full of incredible rock formations. At the end of the tour you are rewarded with an up-close view of the falls itself, and you can get close enough to get wet. Wear some comfortable shoes and bring your camera! more
