Rr Express Janitorial

My husband and I recently purchased a home and after extensive research into material and labor costs we set aside a budget for 400 sq. ft of laminate, installed. We called several different companies and received in-home estimates over 3 days. Since we already knew there was a great deal of difference between quality and prices of material, we made certain the Express Flooring representative gave us specific details on the product they were attempting to sell us so we were able to determine actual costs. First. we felt the salesman was very abrasive and unwilling to discuss options other than the 4 products he presented. And, secondly, the quote we received was so out of line with the other companies that we were able to tell him immediately that we were not interested in doing business with them. He would not let it go at that. He wanted to know what we'd be willing to pay or if we'd just buy the materials from him and do it ourselves. We found this completely unsatisfactory behavior. Their high pressure pitch appears designed to get you to make an emotional decision and the offer of next day install keeps you from backing out. By the way, we went with another nationally advertised company and were able to upgrade the flooring and underlayment, installed within a week, for almost 1/2 the lowest quote from Express. And, our new flooring is guaranteed for 50 years. Now I just shake my head when those annoying commercials are aired. more

When I questioned him on the other Shaw distributors telling her that the flooring she got was worth $1300, not over $5000 like she paid, Neil explained that it is not uncommon for the competition to say derogatory things about other companies to make the other companies look bad and themselves look good. This makes sense as my husband who knows carpet confirmed the quality. Since I do still need flooring and would like to get new when I can afford it, I asked him about the BBB. He laughed and told me they have less than one tenth of 1% complaint ratio - it's all relative to the amount of business you do and to go to You Tube and search "20 20 bbb investigation". I did so and it explains why you can't believe what the bbb has to say. Anyways, I asked Neil how long it would take for me to be issued a check and he told me up to 20 days. This was a little disappointing but since I won't actually need the money for about 30 days or so I could live with that although I was not as happy with that answer. Today is the 14th day and it came in the mail today. I was excited and decided to write this. more

My husband and I too had made a purchase from Express through Neil Hoffman. My husband who used to own his own flooring store agreed with the sales rep (Neil) that the quality of carpet we were getting was indeed far better than other places we were looking at. Unfortunately, later that day a family emergency had come up and I was going to need the money we spent on carpet for this emergency. I immediately tried to get a hold of Neil but I got his voice mail. I left a message about the problem and hoped he would call me back. One hour later - no call! I got nervous and decided to look up reviews on this company as the deposit I gave him was a lot of money to me. I saw the above report where the customer in Sun City said Neil told them "it was too late – the check had already been banked." Now I was extremely upset to say the least. That evening I get a call... It was Neil Hoffman. I told him what had happened with the family emergency and told him I would like my check back. He started to tell me that he is not allowed to hold onto the checks he received and had deposited the money in the bank. I became extremely emotional. It looked like I was going to be forced into a carpet purchase I no longer could afford. His next words, however, were "We will have to issue you a check and have it mailed to you for the full deposit". I started to cry. I know this sounds silly but that is how I get. He asked me what was wrong. I told him about the complaint the Sun City customer wrote and thought for sure he was going to tell me it was too late. He told me he knows about that complaint (said the customer posted everywhere she could think of), but does not understand it as he told her the same thing that he told me (that Express would issue a new check to her if that's what she wants), but she was unsure if she wanted to cancel and then decided to go ahead with the installation. I told him that is not what she said and he told me that he told her exactly the same as he told me. more
