I have been going to the Roadside Grill for the last year. I am from West Virginia and just went this week. The new menu selection was great. Dinner menu was above par for most places on the Outer Banks. I had the ""Beet Vinagrette and Puppy Drum"". I was looking for something different than the usual fried fish/buffet of the Outer Banks and this place delivered on every level. It came out with flavor and portions. The waiter was very observant and friendly. Matt my waiter had an extensive knowledge of beer and wine that was available. The head chef (I think Benjamin) came to our table to ask about the meals that we had ordered. This was also a nice touch which capped off a great evening. I am going to leave a 1-star rating due to it seems like the first rating given to Roadside Grill. Please give your own opinion on this. I will be back every time I visit the Outer Banks. I do recommend this for a great dinner. I also asked to view the lunch menu and I am excited to give it a try. Pros: Great value, Fresh Quality, Quick attentive service! The Roadside was once a secret. Now there are lines. That's for a good reason...the food, service and atmosphere (upstairs) are the best in town. Start with a couple appetizers - the chowder rivals that in New England and the shrimp and grits plate is different (in a very good way!). The cooks take great pride to make sure each plate leaving their grille looks and tastes great. The fish is caught locally. Their sauces are Roadside secrets. The combination of fresh food and unique accompaniments creates a great meal time after time. I suggest you try the special...it's always their best creation! Every time I go to the OBX, I visit Roadside. Friendly, fast, and quality food, not to mention the value price tag. My girlfriend got the Prime Rib Sandwich and I got the Blackened Tilapia Sandwich, both were mouth watering and the homemade potato salad is out of this world.
