Dr, Kitchen is the most thorough eye doctor I have ever had 5/22/2012

I have been going to Dr. Kitchen for my annual eye exams for 3 years now and I always leave knowing more about my eye health that I ever expected. Dr. Kitchen utilizes the most up to date technology and equipment to determine my eye health, is very thorough and meticulous in determining what is the best treatment for me and I have been utterly amazed at the detail in which he explains his assessments. The staff at Tech Ridge Vision are amazing. They all have been friendly and knowledgeable and have always met my expectations of being professional as well as helpful. I trust Dr. Kitchen with my eyesight and will continue to refer friends and family to him as much as I can. He is a wonderful doctor. more

Feel upset and cheated. 11/1/2011

Not happy with the service. My children went in for an eye exam. They saw Dr. Wolf who specializes in pediatric eye exams. He was asking my daughter to look a certain way, and when she didn't understand him, he knocked on her head with his fingers. It would help if the doctor explained to the kids what he is going to do before he does it. Also, my daughter bought a pair of designer glasses which came with a cute black case with pink in inside. She was given a bulky faded blue boys case with a different brand, a bottle of cleaning solution but no cleaning cloth. When we went back to get the correct case we were told they only had one case for her brand and it happened to be a cheap plastic sunglasses case. We plan on buying her 3 more pairs of glasses this year, and a new pair in January when we are covered again, just not from this place. Pros: null Cons: null more

Helping me through MD 8/25/2011

Recently diagnosed with macular degeneration, I've come to care very much for the people at Tech Ridge Vision. It's a difficult thing to lose your eyesight, and they've been nothing but wonderful. From diagnosis to treatment they've consoled me and lifted my spirits each time I go. Great doctors, warm-hearted people, excellent medical care. I truly appreciate them. I recommend this optometrist office for sure. more

Exceptional service 11/9/2010

I went in for my annual exam, my appointment was right on time! I had some eye tests done, and then saw Dr. Wolf. We talked about the things he was seeing and what steps would help me, it was explained very clearly and he's easy to talk to. I then checked out some frames and talked about what lenses I wanted. The women who helped me was awesome! She will give you good advice. (thank you!) more

Best Kept Secret for Healthy, Inexpensive Eating 10/30/2010

It is hard to find a fast food place where you can eat healthy, tasty food, but this is it! They have several hot wraps under 9 grams of fat and 8 smoothies under 230 calories. The smoothies are made from fresh fruit right in front of you rather than mixes and they are very tasty. The wraps are really good, too. Their combo deal is a great deal. It's a 16 oz. smoothie, small wrap (which is not small at all), and bag of chips (including regular and BBQ baked chips) all for $6. The service has been friendly and prompt every time I've gone and this is going to be one of my new favorite places to grab something healthy, tasty, and cheap fast. Check it out! more

Don't Get Ripped Off (like me) !! 10/20/2010

I took my family there for the standard annual glasses exams because they said that they accept VSP. A couple of weeks after, I was sent invoices for an extra $136 - $189 per person for the exam, AFTER medical insurance. more

Delicious Smoothie 9/10/2009

I stopped in for a smoothie... and discovered they have so many great flavors for smoothies. The one I orded we delicious. I also learned they serve food too! That's great! Excellent service is still out there 6/26/2009

I'v been to Dr. Kitchen's office twice. Once to have something removed from my eye. I had no appointment, and they worked me into their schedule by seeing me 15 minutes prior to their office opening. The second was for an eye exam for glasses. Everything was explained to me in detail, and my glasses were available in less then a week. the optician Valerie was extremely helpful in choosing frames that fit my face and I'm very glad I listened to her input. Terra at the front desk was very personable. If you are tired of unpersonable, inefficient, unprofessional medical treatment, then Tech Ridge will be a welcome change for you. Pros: Professional, informative and caring Cons: Other doctor offices don't operate like Tech Ridge Vision more

Awsome Doctor, Great Manners 6/1/2009

I've been with Dr. Kitchen for 1yr. I was recommended there by my mother in law who has been going there for maybe 6 yr.s. He is a good Dr., he knows his business and he doesnt try to sell you what you dont need. In fact if your paying in cash he very helpful and inexpensive. Didn't have my eye exam done there, but found this place when pricing contacts. They easly had the lowest price (25.00 compare to 39.00 from my other dr). They have a good clean office with great information. Dr.Kitchen seems to have been around for a good while and has lifeling customers.!! Great service, friendly staff, best selection of frames 5/18/2008

Wow! If you need new glasses, this is where you need to go. I've been going to Dr. Kitchen since I moved to austin a few years back, and the service is unparallelled. Valerie, the optician, truly has a gift for helping you find frames that will look great on your face. I get compliments on my glasses almost every day! Despite the small size of the office, there is actually a greater selection of unique frames than I have ever seen in a large chain like lenscrafters, ect. Dr. Kitchen has a great bedside manner, kind, with some jokes thrown in. He lets you know what he is doing and why, and is concerned with your long term eye health. All in all, they recieve my highest recommendation. Pros: small office makes visits very personal, you don't feel like a number, service, selection Cons: limited hours and appointment openings. more

Best Eye Doctor's office 4/3/2007

I have been having trouble with my eyes since I was 17. Now ten years later after seeing 3 different doctors I was turned on to Dr. Kitchen in Austin. I live 250 miles from this office but I have made the drive several times because I have never felt just care from practically any doctor. After my first visit I was amazing my how clearly I was able to see. I didn't realize how much certain things can damage your eyes. Dr Kitchen takes the care of your eyes as if they were is own. He educates you how to protect and prevent damage to your eyes. His staff is very well trained and I never have any worries. There is one woman there I count on for everything involving my eyes, glasses, contacts, sunglass, even a really bad sty or 2. She has framed styled me with the most beautiful glasses that random strangers compliment me on, which makes me feel so great. I have referred others in my area and they now travel to visit this office. I recommend this doctor and his staff to anyone seeking be very best of eye care available in Texas! Pros: Clean office well trained caring staff. Cons: that unless other wise needed you only see them once a year. But its worth it. more

Have always had a great experience with Dr. Kitchen. He explains everything to you and treats you like a person instead of a number. He takes his time to make sure you have the best care and doesn't push you out the door. Would recommend him to anyone wanting to change Doctors. Pros: Service more

What's with all the hostility? 1/24/2007

When I called for an appointment I was treated badly. The receptionist was rude. I deciced not to make an appointment at that point. I didn't think an office that shows this kind of face to the public would be any better once I got there. Pros: I could be wrong. Cons: Rude staff. more
