Glad I knew about Urgent Care 4/28/2011

I recently had some problems with my left ankle after I fell done from riding my bike. When I went into Urgent Care I was very happy with how nice and clean the place was. The staff and customer service in front were very nice and professional. I explained the problem I was having and they looked at my swelled ankle. I was seen by a Doctor shortly after and did a full examination on my right ankle. Turns out it was severely bruised which was was mainly my fault because I continued to ride on it after I hurt it. The Doctor did an outstanding job with helping me and was very knowledgeable about my ankle. I give Urgent Care an Easy 5 stars. Thanks for helping me. I will tell all of my friends to use you guys. more

Thankful to not go to the E.R.! 2/3/2010

My family and I just moved to the Fishhawk area a couple of weeks ago. During the move, our seven year old slipped and hit his head on the fireplace, then fell awkwardly on his arm. Naturally, my wife and I were in a panic. Our first instinct was to go the the E.R., but one of the movers informed us of the Urgent Care around the corner from our home. After seeing his condition, the staff took him back immediately and suitered him right up. Everyone was very courteous, especally the nurse staff. The doctor did a fantastic job. Although I have a plan with a deductible, I only paid 125 for the entire visit, including an x-ray on his arm that I requested! I spent less than 2 hours for the entire ordeal, and our son left with a smile on his face and pleanty of lollipops. I am very thankful this facility is located so close to our home. My family and I will definitely go back for our medical needs. \r more

the recommendation for a sinus infection was to go to and emergency room, and thank you for your co pay, then, shorted my co pay by ten dollars and made a collection call for it!!!!!, absolutly should not be call urgent care for anyone. Cold receptionist, and doctor. Pros: very little wait only two people on a Saturday morning Cons: doctors and staff more

TORTUROUS ""CARE"" 10/28/2008

One doctor in particular has NO bed-side manners. This is our second encounter w/ him at this Urgent Care facility. He is definitely NOT a people person. He is abrupt, shows no empathy & made NO effort whatsoever to put my child at ease - very cold personality. I can overlook these traits if it weren't for the fact that he KNOWINGLY, PURPOSEFULLY & NEEDLESSLY inflicted tremendous pain on my child. My child had an infected ingrown toenail on his big toe. Initially the doctor said he was going to numb the area. He walked out of the room and we were moved to another room w/ two other assistant &/or nurses. When he came in again his only words were ""I'm going to try something."" I didn't have time to say anything before he (what I thought at the time was that he was going to clip the side of my childs toenail) used an instrument to plunge under the top corner of the toenail to the bottom, then RIPPED it toward the middle of the toe. This was done W/OUT numbing!!! He didn't even have the decency to say a few calming words to my child much less give us the choice/ option to do this procedure without numbing the area as he initially said he would. THIS WAS TRULY TORTURE INFLICTED ON A CHILD.\r \r \r Pros: Office staff Cons: One particular doctor is HORRIBLE with children & has a COLD personality. more

Fish Hawk Urgent Care 1/31/2008

The facility is decent, there are clues that they are still updating here and there. The waiting room is fairly small but this place doesn't seem to get more than 2 or 3 people waiting at a time. The receptionist comes off as a little flakey. She speaks in a very quickly and condescending manner. I felt like I was a burden to her just for showing up. I first went there for a knee injury back in early December. \r My most recent visit, the receptionist made me fill out paperwork again, although I?ve been there before. Furthermore, my insurance co-pay is 25 dollars, which is the amount I paid during my last visit. This time, she told me my co-payment is 45 dollars and I owed 5 dollars from my last visit that wasn?t covered by my insurance for a total of 50 dollars. I told her that was wrong and she ?investigated? the situation by shifting through paperwork. She then made a phone call, since it was on speaker-phone, I know she never reached a live person to ask questions. She then indicated to me that my co-pay was 35 dollars and 5 dollars for the last visit, for a total of 40 dollars. Since I wasn?t feeling good and I didn?t want to argue, I agreed to the 40 dollars. She then charged me 50 dollars anyways. I had to bring it to her attention after looking over my receipt. After voiding the 50 dollars, she then charged me the 40 dollars to complete the transaction. \r The wait time was a bit long for the amount of patients. My nurse who greeted me was friendly and warm. The second person to check on me was a student nurse who was very nice and thorough, answering all my questions and didn?t rush me. After the Dr came to check on me, he looked in my mouth or 2 seconds and told me I need medication for Pharyngitis. He literally spent 10 seconds in the room and left. Overall-not a good experience and I didnt like the shadiness with the co-payment prices. Pros: Not too busy, decent parking, nurses and student nurses are friendly Cons: Shady money practices, dr doesnt seem thorough, flakey receptionist more
