Fish Hawk Urgent Care 1/31/2008

The facility is decent, there are clues that they are still updating here and there. The waiting room is fairly small but this place doesn't seem to get more than 2 or 3 people waiting at a time. The receptionist comes off as a little flakey. She speaks in a very quickly and condescending manner. I felt like I was a burden to her just for showing up. I first went there for a knee injury back in early December. \r My most recent visit, the receptionist made me fill out paperwork again, although I?ve been there before. Furthermore, my insurance co-pay is 25 dollars, which is the amount I paid during my last visit. This time, she told me my co-payment is 45 dollars and I owed 5 dollars from my last visit that wasn?t covered by my insurance for a total of 50 dollars. I told her that was wrong and she ?investigated? the situation by shifting through paperwork. She then made a phone call, since it was on speaker-phone, I know she never reached a live person to ask questions. She then indicated to me that my co-pay was 35 dollars and 5 dollars for the last visit, for a total of 40 dollars. Since I wasn?t feeling good and I didn?t want to argue, I agreed to the 40 dollars. She then charged me 50 dollars anyways. I had to bring it to her attention after looking over my receipt. After voiding the 50 dollars, she then charged me the 40 dollars to complete the transaction. \r The wait time was a bit long for the amount of patients. My nurse who greeted me was friendly and warm. The second person to check on me was a student nurse who was very nice and thorough, answering all my questions and didn?t rush me. After the Dr came to check on me, he looked in my mouth or 2 seconds and told me I need medication for Pharyngitis. He literally spent 10 seconds in the room and left. Overall-not a good experience and I didnt like the shadiness with the co-payment prices. Pros: Not too busy, decent parking, nurses and student nurses are friendly Cons: Shady money practices, dr doesnt seem thorough, flakey receptionist more
