Consistently Good 10/7/2002

One of these days I'll break away from the burger, fries and beer scooner rut I get into when we dine here. But probably not the next time. This is a friendly large tavern that does incredible repeat business because of their wholesome menu offerings and warm service. Pros: The burger menu, Full Bar Cons: Sans romance more

The burger of burgers 8/8/2002

You have not truly experienced a burger until you've had a Red Coat. The Red Coat burger is what a burger was meant to be. It juicy, flavorful and hands down the best burger in Michigan. There is no other experience like it and take my word for it, I've done the burger tour and found nothing that compares. Pros: The Chili Fries, Inexpensive, The Onion Rings Cons: Always crowded, A little too dark more

Vegetarian Review 5/27/2002

Being a Royal Oak inhabitant so of course I had heard that Red Coat had some of the best burgers in town, but being a Vegetarian I didn't pay it much attention. Until I had to take my parents somewhere that I knew my dad would like the food. So we went to Red Coat and being the adventurer I tried a burger. I have to say that it was hard to stick to my vegetarian diet after having one. I still have cravings every once in a while and I still the rents there when they're in town. Pros: red lighting, fast service Cons: crowded, not much parking more
