SO RUDE. AWFUL TREATMENT AT THIS LOCATION by both the store manager and the employee. What happened? Jaime (manager) and Micaela (employee) were a terrible mix of rude, dumb and irresponsible. Zero sense of wanting to keep customers feeling good on a basic level. Zero basic manners while solving a problem.
There used to be super-helpful people working here, especially the previous manager. Not anymore.
He (Jaime - manager) didn't care that his employee had no idea that they actually DID have the product I needed in stock OR that she had no idea where the next closest store was.
She (Micaela) was sending me, empty-handed, out the door because she was too lazy to double-check on the item that they actually did have, and she was too rude to help me find the 14th St. location.
When I asked her where the nearest Radio Shack was, she mentioned a bunch of stores that were not right nearby. I said, ""Isn't the closest one right on 14th Street?"" Deadpan, she looked at me and quipped, ""THIS IS 14th Street."" I said, ""I think there's actually a store only a few blocks east, ON 14th Street. This one here is actually on 7th Avenue.""
How can you work in a store and not know where the next closest location is?
She tried to look it up on the computer in a way that I could see wasn't going to work, and she kept rudely insisting that there was no way to obtain that info. Huh? You're working in a Radio Shack unable or unwilling to help your customer find a store that's likely only blocks away? Then she told me I was giving her attitude (!) so she wasn't going to help me. The manager was in earshot and let this baloney play out.
Finally, he came over. Actually, the next closest store is ON 14th Street & 5th Ave, and actually they DID have the product here in their own store, anyway.
You'd think he would've apologized for his employee, but no. He didn't care that I had such a negative experience. I told him my concern that I was treated so rudely and by someone who was actually totally in error, but he refused to simply and genuinely apologize. Instead, he just kept interrupting me as he rang up my purchase! I felt so cheap to buy from him that I voided the purchase and got the heck out of there.
There's really no excuse for this. Five minutes earlier I walked in to The Vitamin Shoppe and was helped by perfectly normal, polite individuals, who helped me with a similar type of problem in a friendly way. Radio Shack Corporate clearly doesn't give a crap how poorly trained or rude their store personnel are.
