Love the workout! 11/28/2011

I've spent years in the gym trying to build muscle and get strong but never got the results I wanted. Then I started taking Muay Thai classes at Progressive Martial Arts in Queens and the rest is history. My fitness and coordination have improved, I now have strength and power, and I have great muscle definition. I love the workouts and PMA has a great group of people to support you and help you achieve your goals. Call them today, you'll be glad you did. more

Bye bye Gym! 11/23/2011

Forget the gym, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing are two of the best workouts you can get. The combination of strength, power, endurance, coordination, cardio, and flexibility, give you a complete workout like no other. Ditch the gym and the long hours spent there and get into martial arts instead. You're not just getting a workout, you're also learning to protect and defend yourself if the worst ever happens. Take the 30 day free trial at Progressive Martial Arts in Queens today, and fight your way to a brand new body. more

Best thing Im doing. 11/14/2011

The Foundations classes in Queens are awesome. These classes teach you street defense and the kicking, punching, trapping and grappling skills give you a great workout. The conditioning phase really increases your fitness and strength and the combative skills improve your power and agility and work every inch of your body. Most importantly, you learn important defensive skills to protect yourself. The best thing you can do for yourself is to sign up for total defense classes at Progressive Martial Arts. more

Wonderful place 11/8/2011

We were looking for something for our little ones to do during the day and found the Little Dragons class at Progressive Martial Arts. Now, Jeremy and Jordan look forward to their class days so much that they have our angst filled teen considering joining the teen program as well. He signed up for the 30 day free trial and thought he would just check out a couple of days. It's been 3 months now, and he's completely hooked. He's learning so many great skills, and new friends. It's wonderful to see the positive change in him. If you have kids, check out PMA in Queens! more

A family that kicks together sticks together!! 11/4/2011

My entire family has been going to Progressive Martial Arts and when I say entire family, I mean all of us! My husband and I have been going for years as well as my sister and her new husband and one brother in law. My mom just started her 30 day free trial period, and the first of my kids is just now old enough for the preschool program. We love coming down here together, working out in our various programs and then leaving as a family. The Wilson Family more

Thank you so much!!! 10/24/2011

My son was once a sullen, angry, pasty faced bully. I got calls from the school telling me about his behavior, and I didn't want to believe them. Then I caught him. He was taunting children smaller than him, saying such ugly, nasty words and then he hit one of these smaller kids. A counselor suggested a kickboxing class, ironically enough. So, we came to Queens, New York to Progressive Martial arts. He is now a member of the Youth Leadership team and volunteers as a teen mentor. more

Intense! 10/19/2011

Who let the dogs out? The Dog Brothers let the dogs out, that's who! My brother Nick and I started in MMA at Progressive Martial Arts and then one day we heard about this crazy thing called Dog Brothers Real Contact training. We watched men training there and saw these guys just going right at one another. We had to join. Yeah, it's real, it's intense and yeah, I can still kick Lee's butt any day of the week! more

Age specific classes make a difference! 10/12/2011

I am glad that there are so many age specific classes at Progressiv!e Martial Arts. I have four kids, all in different age groups. I could drive all over New York, taking them here and there for their activities and sports, or I can drive them here to Queens and allow them to take their classes. I have one Little Dragon (age 4), two in Juniors (twin 9 year olds) and a teen who is 14. I may even start working on my own fitness as well. more

Changed my life ! ! ! 10/6/2011

college and became a teacher. When I was younger, I started doing martial arts because my mom wanted me to do something active. Now, I have been told that I can combine my love for teaching with my love for martial arts. I may learn how to do just that, but for now I am a member of the Swat team at Progressive Martial Arts School. That means that I help with the classes and get to use my skills as a teacher to help others. more

Best martial arts school in the Metropolitan area! 10/2/2011

I have been to several different martial arts schools in a number of different states. I have to say that Progressive Martial Arts is one of the nicest fitness facilities that I have been in and didn't really need to have the 30 day free trial to know that I was going to love it. I am going to continue my training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and may move on to one of the other disciplines as well. What a great place this is! Dave Andrews more

My twins love it 9/26/2011

I have twin boys. My wife and I have been pulling our hair out trying to get these kids into a preschool program because they are just wired all of the time. They are really starting to have some major behavior problems and blew one preschool interview already. After one particularly nightmarish day, my wife announced that my kids were just enrolled in the Little Dragons program at Progressive Martial Arts. They are going to learn how to control their energy in a better way. Thanks! more

Got my body back! 9/12/2011

Mine is a typical story: woman gets married, has a baby and gains weight, has a second baby and gains more weight. The end, right? Or worse, you end up with one of those fluff and filler, girly-girl workout tapes with the Barbie doll instructor. Not for me, let me tell you. I went to a gym, sprained my ankle getting into a machine that I later found out was meant to work my butt. I found Progressive Martial Arts and my solution was found. I am training in MMA- now I dare anyone to call me fat girl. more

Great place for your teenager! 8/30/2011

Moving to Queens was a blow to my teenage son. He had established himself in his old school as both a scholar and an athlete. Within weeks of moving here, John found himself at Progressive Martial Arts, checking out one of the Muay Thai kickboxing programs. He asked to join and after checking things out, I was satisfied that the program was well taught and focused on the right training aspects. He is back to being my golden boy once again and that really matters to me. more

Safe environment for teens!! 8/21/2011

One day, I caught my son on the street corner, smoking a cigarette and drinking a can of beer with a group of boys much older than him. He said that they made him do it and I believed him. Two days later, I caught him with those boys again, and the filth that was pouring from all of their mouths was making me sick to my stomach. I dragged my boy away from those others, ignoring the foul words they were shouting. I shoved him in the door at Progressive Martial Arts and told him for the 30 day free trial, he would be there training. At the end, he could agree to keep learning MMA or kickboxing or whatever or he could go back to the thugs and hoods on the street. He is a smart boy and every time he gets a new belt, I will be able to tell him that once again. more

Great atmosphere 8/8/2011

My daughter Alison started at Progressive Martial Arts when she was in the junior classes. She has continued to step up her training and it shows in the way she carries herself and in her actions at home and at school. She is graduating out of the teen programs into the adult programs and has talked of becoming a fitness model and instructor. She has always said that the training she got her was more than just exercise and I believe it. more

Change it up! 7/29/2011

What does an aerobics instructor do on her day off? She comes to Progressive Martial Arts and works her butt off with kickboxing classes and trains in mixed martial arts. That keeps me fit and strong but also gives me the work that I need to be able to lead my classes. Yep I leave my job at a fancy gym and I come here to work. Being in the fitness field I know what is quality and dedication more

PMA Kids! 7/16/2011

I am glad that I am bringing my kids to Progressive Martial Arts for the kids classes. They were having some problems in school unfocused and really unmotivated but now they are doing well once again. They don't just teach these kids to punch and to kick in these classes. They teach them about being polite and respectful as well the things that really matter in this world. I strongly recommend PMA in Queens for your kids especially if you're having a hard time getting them to do anything. They might rebel at the thought of taking up mixed martial arts but once they get involved they'll be hooked. Try it! more

Diamond! 7/6/2011

There are not many places that teach you real MMA- they show you a few watered down techniques or offer you a fitness style kickboxing class that is nothing more than a bunch of dancing around with a few kicks tossed in. That was not what I wanted or needed. Progressive Martial Arts has been far different because everything I have learned and will keep on learning is real and nothing but real. I signed up for the Total Defense classes and was amazed to find a structured system that worked in phases. This is exactly what I wanted and was looking for such a long time. Check out PMA in Queens and you'll know what I'm talking about! more

Great martial arts! 6/29/2011

I just could not get my wrestling team to take it to the next level. I seen potential in these kids but they could not see it in themselves for some reason. I wanted them to really let loose and be everything they could. A few of them came back after a school break with more intensity, more drive and more skills. They had been going to Progressive Martial Arts. I checked out the programs and found out that not only were there kids programs but adult programs in BJJ, kickboxing and even grappling techniques. Plus, there was a 30 day free trial. I suggested it to the rest of my team and hoped that they would follow the lead. more

So much fun! 6/18/2011

When I was a fitness model, I was not allowed to do anything that could cause injury. I was stuck doing the boring stuff, stuff I hated, I made add just to keep my fitness level up and my body toned and tight. When I retired, I went straight to Progressive Martial Arts and signed up for kickboxing classes. Since then, I have taken other MMA classes and have found my inner drive is higher now than when I was modeling. It's easier to work for fitness when you are doing it for yourself rather than for just the camera. more
