Best

Every time that my husband and I have family or visitors come to town, we go to Primanti Brothers in the Strip District. Sure - there are closer Primanti's, but the suburban locat...

Not everyone likes a meal held together by two slices of bread. My wife bragged about these sandwiches so I tried one, my last one. I still like to pick what goes in my stomach. ...

Needs more than a gimmick... 10/22/2002

PB bases it's reputation on a cute gimmick....a fast food meal between two slices of stale italian bread. After the novelty wears off, you're left with another unsatisfying, low quality meal. more

Blah 10/16/2002

This food is highly over rated. They use cheap quality ingredients. It's just famous for some reason. Sandwiches are bland. Pros: good concept Cons: over crowded, cold in winter, over priced more

slaw and fries 10/3/2002

Everytime I go home I tell my family and friends ""Oh, you guys gotta try Primanti's. It's awesome!"" Pros: CHEAP, Nice atmosphere, good people more

The best sandwiches in Pgh! 10/3/2002

Pittsburgh in a Nutshell 9/22/2002

This restaurant has the atmosphere that accompanies everything that Pittsburgh lives on...the wonderful everything on a sandwich, 'slaw, fries, Pittsburghese, and great walls. THIS IS WHAT PITTSBURGH IS ALL ABOUT!! Pros: Great Food, Awsome people Cons: Tough Parking on Sat. more

Primanti's can surprise you 9/2/2002

All my family lives in Pittsburgh, so when I went there a couple of years ago, my aunt took me ona grand tour of the town. We got a guided tour, went to Mt. Washington, Kennywood, the Strip District, it was great. The last stop was dinner at Primanti's. It was my first time at Primanti's, and my aunt didn't tell me about what was coming. Finding my coleslaw and french fries on my sandwich was a little startling, but it was absolutely fantastic. I'd recommend Primanti's to anyone visiting Pittsburgh, and it is absolutely fabulous! Pros: Inexpensive, Great Atmosphere, Wonderful Food Cons: Poor Parking, Slightly Crowded more

Best sausage sandwich anywhere 8/24/2002

Talk about a sausage sandwich - what a meal! It comes piled high with french fries and cole slaw - way too much to eat but ooooh so good! Service was great and friendly, nothing fancy but the sandwiches are GREAT! more

The only place where you can make a mess 8/15/2002

So you walk in and right away you know that you are in a room with alot of good people. The sevice is great and when you eat there sandwitches you know that you are going to make a mess, but it is okay because you see around that other people having the same poblem. You see there is so much on two slices of bread, you can not be clean! But when it is all done you feel stuffed and you are just happy. Pros: service Cons: location more

Best unusual sandwich 8/11/2002

sandwiches include fries and cole slaw on the same bun for a really fast and filling meal more

Pride of da Burgh! 8/8/2002

Primanti's is an excellent place to enjoy a unique sandwich and a clean, sports bar like atmosphere! Whether you're there for $1.00 slices of pizza and drafts during a Penguins game, or just looking for a sandwich that can only be enjoyed in Pittsburgh, Primanti's is the place to be. Pros: quick service, locations in suburbs, free use of P-P-View Cons: gets really crowded, no parking downtown, only afford 1 sandwic more

an acquired taste... 8/7/2002

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. Spent my hours hanging out at Primanti's with friends that managed and worked there. My favorite local used to be Oakland. It's the best place to go after drinking all night. 2 favorite sandwiches; roast beef & cheese and bacon, egg & cheese. Don't really understand that whole 'steak & cheese' thing, but to each his own. more

Best in the Burgh 8/7/2002

Primanti's has the BEST sandwiches with cheap prices. Nothing better then a great sandwich and a few drinks for an affordable price! more

Primanti's sucks 8/1/2002

Primanti's is gross. I'm from Pittsburgh and have NEVER been a fan. The bread is soggy, the cole slaw messy, and the fries are cold. The meat inside doesn't even look like real meat, let alone taste like it. So why is this sloppy sandwich a Pittsburgh legacy? You tell me! Pros: inexpensive, lots of people Cons: bad food, bad atmosphere, limited parking more

not with a 10ft pole 7/29/2002

If the original Primati Bro's. restaurant serves food the same way as the new one on Rt. 51, then I won't go. What we got was grey, boiled meat topped by soggy white potatos and cole slaw cut so thick it was inedible. My guess is that you have to be really drunk to eat the swill they call a sandwich, hence the bar. I would never recommend it to anyone. Pros: easy to get to, good service Cons: nasty food, nasty food, nasty food more

yumalicious 7/29/2002

I'm from the Central part of PA. My parents live down around Pittsburgh and let me tell you, I crave Primanti's sandwiches all the time. So needless to say, when I'm at my parents I go to the West Mifflin location and get me one of those fantastic sandwiches. If your not from Pittsburgh, you got to get there and try one. Pros: meat, french fries, cole slaw Cons: crowed more

All Food Groups on one Sandwich 7/26/2002

Yes the sandwiches are loaded with calories and some people like to refer to them as a heart attack waiting to happen, but other than pizza how can you get all the food groups on one item. You cant go anywhere in the United States and at least one person you meet has stopped at Primantis to try one of Pittsburghs famous sandwich shop. Also, try being away from the Burgh and not have one of these mouth-watering sandwiches for six years. When I moved back I ate there everyday for at least two weeks. Also, where else can you get a full meal for less than 5 bucks and walk away with left overs? Pros: Employees are great, Forget manners, Friend gathering plac Cons: Smtims loose order more

Great food, all day and all night 7/24/2002

A traditional Pittsburgh restaurant. The food is great and the fries come in the sandwich!! Pros: Inexpensive, Open 24 hours Cons: Crowded more

IT REALLY IS A 'BURGH THING... 7/22/2002

ANY TRIP TO THE 'BURGH IS NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT A PRIMANTI SANDWICH AND AN ICE COLD I.C LIGHT. WE DRIVE THE 65 MILES FROM WHEELING,WV AS OFTEN AS WE CAN, ESPECIALLY FOR ONE OF THOSE SANDWICHES. Pros: VALUE, LOCATIONS, PORTIONS Cons: AT TIMES RUDE STAFF, STRIP DIST. RESTROOMS more
