Took my 2006 Chevy Colorado in because of the engine light. They did a great job and cared about saving me money rather than making and sharking like some places. The staff and service was friendly and competent. I highly recommend Preston's Auto Repair. Keep up the great work, guys! more

I took my car there for an inspection. Those guys were great. i just moved here from Arkansas and was looking fr an honest shop, I think i found one. I hope i dont get them into trouble but i was impressed. The worker named Matthew inspected my car and told me that the tires were margnal, maybe even on the failing end of marginal. Long story short they still inspected my car and passed it. They saved me a lot of time and aggravation. They explained to me that when a new person moves here from out of state they have to do a vehicle inspection before they can register the vehicle here in the state of texas. They were very helpful and honest and didnt try to sell me anything when i was there. I will definitley be telling anyone i meet here to gothere for service, and i will be a customer fo life. Or until my job tranfers me again. Thank you Matthew and the ladies in the front office. You guys are tremendous more

I dont normally give businesses enough credit to go out of my way and take the time to write reviews but I was so blown away with the people at Prestons I just had to let everyone hear about it. I have been using a couple of shops in kingwood close to my house on Lake Houston Pkwy but man they all are getting so expensive. So I was talking about it to my nosy neighbor and he said why dont you go to Prestons. He said its a nice little quiet shop in humble and they are the cheapest he has found. I believed him cause boy oh boy is he cheap. If you saw his christmas decorations this year you know what im saying. So anyways I wasnt expecting much with Prestons after hearing how cheap they were but I was so wrong. I walked in the front door expecting a big greasy guy to greet me and was surprised to see a woman there who was super helpful. I could tell right away they were pretty busy but she got one of the guys to take it back right then and there. Make a long story short they came back pretty quick with an answer and a price while I waited. I went for lunch and when I came back my car was already done. I never got that quick of a service in Kingwood. The price was a lot cheaper than I thought it was going to be and it was done fast. Im going back for sure and you should too. You wont be sorry\r Oh yeah I got the mechanic with tattoos. I think he might have been Mr Preston the owner cause he was too clean. I think im going to try to get him to work on my car next time too. He was so nice and he knew what he was talking about. when he told me what had to be done to fix my car I actually understood what he was talking about. Mr tattoo guy im coming back for sure more

Above and beyond 2/10/2012

Our Volvo could not shift out of neutral. Preston's determined a broken piece of plastic in the shift assembly. Pretty routine, the above and beyond part was when the Volvo dealership totally dropped the ball (the part could only be purchased through them) and didn't deliver the part that day as promised. Volvo wouldn't commit to doing so until the next day.\r \r Myra, at Preston's, knew I had to have my car the next day. One of the techs actually went to Volvo and picked up the part and stayed after hours (9pm!) to get the job done.\r \r I am ecstatic to finally call an auto repair place ours. It was such a pleasure working with them. They were fair and kind, very atypical for the industry. I didn't feel like a number and fell I can actually trust them. What a blessing! more

I agree with ""The Place to Go"" 11/28/2011

I took my SUV to a Kingwood Auto Repair shop off of WLHouston to replace a belt that was squeaking very bad. As it turned out, I received a quote for $1130.00 from the Kingwood repair shop because I had a leaking Power Steering hose, had to replace the belt that was squeaking due to the power steering fluid going on to the belt and flushing the lines. I left there without having my suv repaired and figured I would get another opinion. When I went to pick up the keys, I asked them if they got my quote together of another problem I was having with it, and he flat out told me that because I told them I wasn't having my SUV fixed right now, he didn't put me at a high priority and didn't do the quote. When I got into my car, the volume of my SUV was on full blast so when I turned the car on, it scared me and actually hurt my ears.... Half of me believes they did that because after I rec'd the quote, I told them I would leave it squeaking until after I had our truck repaired (major) which was already at Preston's due to a recommendation from AAA. Since our truck was already there, I called Preston's and asked them to quote me on my SUV. I had already called on the price for the line after the Kingwood shop told me how ""expensive"" the part for my particular car was. Turns out the price on the part wasn't bad at all. Preston's quoted me the same amount that I researched - and fixed it for $424.00! They are as nice as can be there... and even ordered an additional part just in case I needed and ended up returning it because they didn't need it. I am very grateful for them and they are honest and extremely nice! We are heading back there for additional work on another issue I have. They quoted me on that part ...which is what I previously researched as well. So far they have been very honest and very friendly. I highly recommend them. more
