Premier Fitness

Our family had membership back when Premier was located in the Galleria. After moving back to NOLA we decided to rejoin. This was a huge mistake. The majority of their machines (elliptical, treadmills, etc) are broke or in VERY poor condition. The fact is they're old and need to be replaced. For the machines that may happen to work, there is supposed to be a 30 min time limit which isn't followed by the members nor is it enforced by the employees. Even after complaining, they refuse to do anything to correct the problem; doing something would cut into their gossip sessions. Our kids were added to the plan and we were being billed for them to attend, although no one ever put them into the system thus they were refused entry. We complained and they attempted to visit a second time only to be refused again. When we complained again we were told they would be added at a later date because the ONLY person that could correct the error was on vacation. My husband had a heated conversation with the owner and he said, ""if you don't like it, quit""......... only after you finish paying us for the balance of your annual membership. That would be the membership the kids were refused to use. Save your money and frustration. Join another gym. Being we've lived in several states, we've been members of several athletic clubs. I've never quit a club until now, then again, I've never held membership to a place so poorly maintained and managed. more

In my opinion, anyone looking to join an area athletic club, should be wary of this place, or at least be absolutely positive nothing will change in your life for a year, once you sign their membership contract. My girlfriend and her fiance joined, and unfortunately have to move to Houston, but Premier refused to let them out of their membership contract. Thing is, if they were members who had been there and used the facility often I would understand, but they weren't even members for a month, they could see her fiance had only been in there twice, she hadn't been there once, not once, and the only thing they would do for them is reduce the contract to 6 months. So they have to pay for 6 months of a membership they'll never use, and that's only if we send them PROOF of their Houston residence or they'll charge them the full year. I can understand keeping the sign up fee, but making them pay the 6 months, for a membership never used, and very recently signed up for, adding further aggravation to a move not planned for? C'mon! Yes, they have the right to make them pay for a year, and yes paying 6 months is better than 12, but something about this rubs me the wrong way, even the cable company isn't making them pay the full extent of their contract, and they're 9 months into a 2 year contract. The cable company! And those guys are horrible. $600 bucks for nothing. This kind of thing is ridiculous. more

Premier fitness has offered me the absolute best experience at a health club that i could possibly hope for. Their staff from top to bottom is always responsive , always sensitive to my needs , and always willing to give whatever it takes to make absolutely sure that i accomplish all my fitness goals. I've tried some of the other clubs like Elmwood , French Rivieria, and NOAC . I can say that the two major factors keeping me from joining these establishments has been overcrowding { too many members and not enough equipment or trainers} and an impersonal atmosphere that doesn't even care what happens as long as i pay their monthly dues. My past and current experience at Premier has surpassed all my expectations and i can confidently recommend Premier to anyone intrested in enjoying the best fitness experience possible. Pros: personal, responsive service, friendly staff , great value, numerous training options Cons: might not remain New Orleans most best kept secret more

There have been a lot of improvements at Premier with the addition of a new weight room and a basketball court with a volleyball net. The staff is friendly as usual. It's turning out to be a pretty good competitor. There's still a little more to desire but overall not too bad.
