My son attended this daycare for over eight months and would still be there if not for my change in jobs that took me to the South Bay. \r \r As my maternity leave started to come to and end, my husband and I started seriously researching day care options for our son who would be two months old when he started day care. Starting a kid in daycare so young really limited our options (especially finding one close to my office), because many places required kids to be three or six months old. We fortunately found two places; one of which was Poway Country Preschool. We made an appointment for a visit, took a tour and shortly enrolled our son. Truth be told, one of the main reasons for choosing PCP at the time was the proximity to my office. But if I had the opportunity again, I'd choose PCP for many other reasons. \r \r My son's primary caretakers/teachers in the infant/toddler room, Miss Christine and Miss Sarah, were absolutely wonderful. I truly felt like they (and Miss Emi and the other PCP staff) cared about his well-being and development, which was comforting to me as a working mom who dropped off her son at 7:00 in the morning and picked up at 5:45pm. They helped with tummy time, getting him to sit, crawl, transition to solids, and all the other things infants do from three to nine months. I think he also loved being around all the ""big"" kids. \r \r If we end up moving nearby in a few years as we hope to, I will definitely re-enroll my son at PCP! more

We had a terrible experience with this so-called children's ""day care"" It takes place during the day but they did a very poor job taking care of our children and did not care at all what we thought about their methods. The director is better fitted to be a director of a correctional facility and not a pre-school. They are very serious about discipline, which is good, but during the time our boys went there, we did not hear any kind or positive word about them. On a daily basis we only heard how the toddler misbehaved and how the baby had a ""terrible day or was ""miserable"". The teachers there would actually write such comments on the daily sheets. Every time we saw that, my wife and I would get upset and would think to our selves, ""what did the teachers do to make their day better?""\r \r The staff at the pre-school was completely unqualified and did not care at all. They would try to send kids home as soon as they had runny noses or coughed a bit, so that they would get to care for fewer kids. I am quoting one of the teachers addressing our baby ""Stops screaming, you are hurting my ears"".\r \r Anyway, you get the point. The place is OK for stay home parents who need a place to leave the kids for a few hours but not for parents working full time. more

We Love Poway Country Preschool! 7/28/2010

Ashne and her team are amazing! My daughter has been there for almost four years, she is leaving for kindergarten this week and we are heartbroken. She started in the infant room and has had the opportunity to work with every teacher at PCP. All of them were great, their caring and loving attitudes and the addition of Miss Emi in the preschool program is phenomenal! They really are ready for kindergarten. Ashne has become like family to us and I highly recommend PCP to any parent who wants to have their children loved and taught during the day! Pros: Staff, Location, Amenities more
