Went to the new location on Murphy tonight for the first time. I arrived at 11pm, they close at 12- some places drop off in service and food quality this late at night, but a coff...

Nice atmosphere 11/29/2005

Portland Brew has coffee and service that set it apart from the rest. They take pride in knowing their customers and the details about there coffee. With shops opening up everywhere there needs to be things that set one apart from the rest, for Portland Brew their services is what does it. more

Portland Brew on Murphy Road 11/29/2005

This does not have the right address on it here but I'll talk about it anyways. It's a wonderful coffee shop. The folks who work there are really nice. They have a rotating art gallery of local artist on the walls. They let folks come in and do swing dances on Sunday night. It's a great little scene. I would highly recommend it. Oh and wireless internet. more

Best Coffee In Town 11/3/2005

... Or so I've heard. I'm not sure if I quite agree, although it is excellent coffee. A bit pricer it seems, than other area coffee shops, but a few cents here and there is all it seems to be. Portland Brew is unique in that there are study cubicles in the building, making it a nice relaxing place for the busy college student to crash after a long, harried day in class. It has a quiet atmosphere which is also unique to this coffee shop. The internet works great!!! The whipped cream on the apple cider is to die for. Highly recommended! Not so interesting if you are wanting to spy on the local culture, as most go to Portland to study or have a quiet chat with someone. more

This is a Must Try! 8/23/2005

If you are ever in Nashville you must stop by and try this place. It was one of the coolest coffee shops I have ever been too. The coffee was fabulous and the atmosphere was even better. It is a great place to be alone or talk with a friend. I wish we had one in Bham! more
