Good Food and Cheap Eats 10/25/2010

My wife and I enjoy Sunday afternoons here in the summer when Rick's gets a band to play in the early evenings and they serve both cheap eats and nicely priced beers. I loved the homemade meat loaf but others at the table of 6 enjoyed their meals too. Once the ice is thick enough they promise more out-of-doors Sundays with more music. more

Saturday afternoon disappointment. 8/1/2010

Me and a friend went for a late lunch/early dinner and were seated immediately. The main dining room(s) were empty. Walking through to the porch felt like a trip through a dungeon. Pros: Water view. Cons: Questionable cleanliness, tasteless food, drink made wrong. more

Much to be Desired 5/8/2010

We loved the Pond View under its former ownership and this was our first time in since the restaurant changed hands. Pros: no wait Cons: Place looks worn and dirty. No updates with new ownership more

It's not the Pond View I remember 4/17/2010

we went there on a saturday night and got right in, ha ha they asked if we had a reservation, it was empty. twice i tried to get an ice tea it was like dirty water, no taste and they were unable to make one. the diet coke tasted like dark soda water. the prime rib was awful not cheap but awful. once you cut off all the fat and there was more fat than meat, it was tough and i couldn't even get it cooked the way i asked and the waitress never came back to see how it was till much too late. no bread/rolls it says baked potato but it was nuked and even at that it was to hard to eat. just awful. Pros: no wait Cons: bad food, service, and costly more

Rick needs to read these reviews! 2/27/2009

This resturant has been around since I was a girl (35 years ago) and I've been to it many times, but no one can match the meticulous management , style, and care of the origional owner. I've heard her Daughter(s) ran it and sold out to Rick. I was also dissapointed to hear the gazebo is no longer safe for people to go on. I hope it is fixed soon. It's a wonderful and beautiful addition to the atmosphere in the Summer. There used to be paddle boats and ducks out there. Pros: good value, music, tasting food, quaint, interior decorating Cons: long wait for food, loud phone in dining room, needs a little updating on the grounds more

Who's Rick 2/23/2009

I had been dying to try Rick's since it opened last fall. I heard about their grand opening on a local radio station. We were dining with some friends and I suggested we try Rick's Pond View. After all, it was the grand opening, so I expected a lot. I didn't get it. We arrived around 8:30 and there were a few people at the bar in the restaurant area, and a few tables finishing up in the dining room. We were greeted by three pleasant young ladies dressed in black. Our server was very nice, but even though the restaurant was not busy at all, we had to pile up our salad dishes, and put them on the end of the table. The food was expensive, but the service was not in tune with the price we paid. The portions were very small. The flavor was OK, but not great. For the prices it should have been WOW. The thing that impressed me the most though was that I never saw Rick. You would think that at his grand opening he would at least try to get to every table and meet the guests. In fact after the initial greeting from the hostesses we never saw them again either. Won't go back. more

Valentine Dinner 2/19/2009

My girl freind and I went to the pond view for a very romantic valentines day and it was the worst time we have ever had. We will never go back there. We had a 7:30 reservatiion. We didn't get seated until around 9:00. And if that wasn't enough they kept telling us that they were out of everything. We finaly ordered something(not what we would have wanted and only the most expensive things left) we didn't get any water or bread even though we had asked a dozen times. Our waitress was totaly rude. We we got our meal about 10:00 to was cold and distusting(so neither of us even eat anything). All night I was wishing that we had gotten up and left like everyone else was. Anyway I was glad to get home that night so we could finally have something to eat and end the awful night. Pros: Thumbs down on everything more

Last night, February 14th, Valentine's Day, my wife and I along with another couple had a 2/14/2009

8 pm reservation at the new ""Rick's"" Pondview Resturant. We arrived at the Pondview at 7:10 and proceeded to the lounge where we had difficulty obtaining drinks from the waitress. After 20 minutes we asked another waitress for drinks and we were eventually served. We were brought to our dining table on the second floor at 8 pm. Drinks were ordered, followed by ordering dinner. The drinks were served in reasonable time, but from that point forward the meal was a disaster. It took almost an hour to obtain our dinner salad, we asked for bread three times and after about an hour were served stale wheat rolls! Then, the waitress came back and told us that there was no more prime rib (she was almost in tears!). The food was finally served and my steak was undercooked and the three other meals were cold and overcooked. If this is the ""New Look"" Pondview then I suggest you close it now! What a dissapointment! more
