Polynesian Pools

Polynesian installed our pool and did an outstanding job with the pool BUT NOT THE CONCRETE. They hired a company that did a poor job. We paid about $10k extra for stamped and colored concrete and it cracked horribly and the coloring was so slippery and chipped it looked bad and was unsafe. We brought an independent expert out who told us that it was a ""hot Load"" of concrete, whatever that means and needed to be replaced. Dennis (the owner of the concrete company) refused and Polynesian told us it was not their problem. Very unprofessional. \r They subcontract the parts (digging,assembly,electrical,concrete and etc.) the other crews were generally professional and respectful but be patient as whatever timeframe Polynesian gives you will be effected by weather and their other projects as well they don't work in coordination so at times this can be frustrating. This turned 3 weeks into 6 weeks (weather played a big factor) . There will be a HUGE dirt/muddy mess in your back yard, driveway and any paths they use for construction for MONTHS! So expect it. After the pool is installed and the dirt backfilled you will need to let the dirt settle for at least a month before they do the concrete and it will be DIRTY!!. The whole installation will be overseen by a project manager. Ours was Nick. Nick went so far above and beyond our expectations of professionalism words cant describe. Nick is a meticulous professional and made himself available to assist us whenever we needed. I would insist upon Nick for your installation but make sure Dennis doesn't do the concrete. If they don't use him I would highly recommend if they do forget it. \r more

I've been pleased with the work of Polynesian pools in the past but the service department is HORRIBLE! Not only was I unable to get a simple answer to a simple question, but he (service-man) continued to cut me off mid-sentence consistently! He seemed to get very frustrated and would repeat himself over and over, as if to hear himself speak. He continued to speak in slang for no apparent reason at all (""that's how we roll"") when asking if a motor could be replaced in my hot tub. When I asked him if I could finish my question, he would put me on hold for several minutes at a time only to return to the phone as if he'd never spoken to me. I will NEVER call this company again, nor refer it to any friends or colleagues. He was enough to make me never want to come back. more

Not sure why some of the other reviews are negative, but my opinion is the exact opposite. They are approximately 80% complete with my installation (as of 20 June 2012) and I can't say enough about their amazing service. Everyone involved has been extremely knowledgeable and courteous. We have always been kept in the loop every step of the way. The crews are respectful and approachable. As they were constructing the walls they noticed a slight crack in one of the panels and brought it to my attention. Without hesitation they immediately ordered a replacement. They also make the extra effort to clean up at the end of each day (I guess most companies don't). Oh, and I can't forget the product quality. From what I can tell it's first class construction that should last for years. We are extremely pleased. ***Will post follow up after completion*** more

Tried to buy and have a new pool liner installed. They promised that the liner would be in on Wednesday and they could install that day or the next. Did not receive any calls on Wednesday saying the liner was in. I finally called them on Thursday morning was told they could install that day and they would call me back, three hours later no call, called again and they said they had set up installation for Friday (even though I specifically told them I would not be home that day). Said they would try and get someone out Thursday night would call me right back. 2 hours later no call. I finally went down and demanded my money back. more

It is a miracle that this company is in business. They have atrocious service. They do not do what they say, show up when they said they will, and are generally worthless. Buyer beware, if you give them your money they will forget that you even exist. Pros: They have a pro? Cons: Service more
