forget the cupcakes! reasons to come here are two fold: better than brad pitt brownies and the peanutbutter squares. WOW. the brownies are by far the most dense baked chocolate concoction on the island of manhattan -- heavy like a brick! though dense they are somehow lush and moist. when cold they are like CANDY. when warm they morph into another entity altogether -- both supremely delicious. flavorful without being too sweet. the PB squares are also out of this world. area amazing cold and ethereal when warm. worth the trip...no matter where you live. check it out! Polka Dot is only three blocks away from where I live and I am a big fan of their brownies. With chocolate icing, their brownies are very rich and delicious. more

FANTASTIC!!!! 6/1/2003

I gave 9 for food just because their coffee is mediocre... I am a coffee lover, so a bit picky. BUT!!!! what they lack w/ coffee, the more than compensate w/ their cakes and pastried. Well, afterall, it is a Cake Studio, not a Cafe. ;) They would warm up your chocolate bread pudding, and serve it w/ fresh whipped cream. YUM YUM YUM!!! more

Fantastic 12/16/2002

This charming little cafe is instantly inviting. The aroma of fresh pastry seems to envelope you the minute you walk in the door. We have been there several times to share a pastry and a cup of coffee. In a city full of dirty coffee shops filled with rude employees, this is a true gem. more

YUM YUM!! 12/4/2002

Ordered my hubba a cake there for his b-day last week and it was so good and looked adorable all covered in multi-colored polka dots. We were eating it for 3 days after the party, it was so good that we did not want to throw it away. It is my best firend's birthday this weekend, and you know that I am going to order her cake here too. Plus, they were so nice, you want to go go back there and make sure you help them stay in business. more
