I Love the Games Here 3/16/2012

When I?m in Atlanta, it?s typically during basketball season?which means I can catch a Hawks game. This arena is great because there is no bad seat. If I don?t get to find out about my travel until the last minute, I can still get a seat good enough to see the game. The prices on beer are very reasonable in comparison to the rest of the country and the arena is clean. Parking is decent and the bathrooms are actually clean, too. more

For what it is... an arena... it's not bad. 3/21/2010

The old Omni, with it's goofy waffle-iron outside and lack of corporate attachment, at least had some charisma. Philips Arena, yet another venue named after electronics company, still seems squeaky clean and new, even though it's been around a while. I hate seeing concerts in any forum that's bigger than say, the Tabernacle, but in all honestly, Philips isn't that bad. Whether you're catching a hockey game, the Hawks or Pearl Jam, there's hardly a bad seat in the (giant) house. (I can't say the same for the Dome.) The last two concerts I caught were The Boss and Black Eyed Peas, who's shows seemed perfect for an arena. Food and beer is your usual event pricing and parking is the pain-in-the-ass we Atlantans have come to expect from Downtown. Despite all this, I'll take the charm of the old Omni any day. Pros: New and clean Cons: It's an arena more

New comers! 2/26/2010

I got my family some tickets to the Hawks game. As far as the game goes it was a wonderful game. But the bad part is that I bought the Chick-fil-A deal and when we enter the game I ask the lady that took our tickets where was Chick-fil-A and she said down the steps in front of where the Chick-fil-A mascot was standing. So when we went to go into the Chick-fil-A area which is in the CNN area I was told once you enter into the game you can not go back out into that area. I felt like this was a set up due to I ask when I enter the game. So the man told me from the guest center there was nothing that he can do. I was out of my money. This is wrong and there needs to be a change made. This is not right for those who are new to going to the Philips Arena. You are taking people money who work hard for it. Pros: Seats are not that bad Cons: Chick-fil-A more

Okay place to go for events. 3/9/2008

The seating isn't too bad. It's a litte awkward when you have the stage on one end and you are sitting along the side. The only bad seats are in the 400 section. I've attending 2 childrens shows in the past couple of months and am going to a concert in the upcoming month. I was able to determine my seats based upon being here previously. The arena is large enough to accomodate and small enough to not get lost in the shuffle. Pros: Okay seating Cons: Pricey concession more

Bargain@any price 6/17/2004

The greatest resource at Phillips is the sense of caring and security provided by the people who work there. At the Clapton concert tonight(6-18-04) my friend, who is handicapped, became too weak to walk to our seats. The security people had a wheelchair brought to her and took us to our seating area, providing us with seats easily accessable, checked on us during the concert, and came back at the end and took us to our entrance.Thank you so much, everyone. Pros: Safe, Secure, Clean more

Phillips Arena 4/13/2004

As a concert venue, Phillips' seats are too close together and the sight lines are horrible. After paying $160.00 for Paul McCartney tickets, I couldn't even see the man and I couldn't cross my legs in the seat, which is unbelievelable since I'm not even 5 foot tall! Cons: , too expensive, no smoking anywhere more

Great Food and Value 2/22/2003

I like the Nava and Pricci locations in the Bank of America Club in Philips Arena. Good value for the quality of food you receive. Also, the seats were very cozy. Pros: Food, Comfort more

Rock On, Philips Style 2/15/2003

This venue is great. I loved the view from the suite at Bon Jovi. Great acoustics and list of upcoming events. Pros: Events, Sports, Food more

Versatile venue 6/16/2002

Philips Arena works equally well for hockey games and concerts. Though its upper seating does remove you from the action (it's a big place), there aren't many bad seats in the house. Its proximity to MARTA is one of the venue's most convenient features. If you plan to drive your car, expect to pay at least $10 to park, and sometimes more. Pros: Close to MARTA Cons: Expensive parking more
