Petit Plumbing

I called Petit for a leak in the ceiling of my rental property. Being that I could not get over there to look at it and assuming water leak equals plumber I was at the mercy of Petit. I was told on the phone they charge a $65 disbatch fee to go over there and look at it and if there was work to be done they would apply that $65 towards the work. Since I felt that was fair I gave them my credit card number over the phone and asked them to please call me once they look at it and let me know exactly what is wrong. The only call I recieved was from the other company I had over there First Atlantic Restoration who told me by LOOKING at it that it was a duct problem and he doesnt think a plumber would be able to help but to try an HVAC or an Airduct person. I called an AC person and explained the problem to him then called the plumber and asked him to call the AC person and explain it to him so that he could understand exactly what is wrong. The AC person called me back and told me I need a Duct person WITHOUT EVEN SEEING the property. When I talked to Petit not once did they say "Ive been trying to reach you, we had to do x y & z" So it was my understanding that I was simply charged the $65 to look at at and since they couldnt help and that was it. 3 days later I have a $175 charge on my account from Petit and still have a leak. I called the office to ask why I was charged so much since my understading was Petit could not fix it. I was told that test were run which accounted for the rest. My problem with this is if First Atlantic Restoration could LOOK at the problem and tell me I dont need a plumber, and an AC guy over the phone could HEAR the problem and tell me I dont need a plumber, why couldnt the expert in plumbing diagnose the problem without doing an additional $110 in tests? They took advantage of having my credit card number and me not knowing the full extent of the problem to price gouge me. I would never ever use them again and never recommend them to anyone. more

Do not hire these plumbers!! I hired them to do a complete removal of old quest pipes in my condo and replace them with pex piping (over $4,000 job). Then I hired a home inspector to come around behind them and check out the job they did in addition to looking at the whole condo. He found several (not one or two and not minor) safety issues that the plumbers neglected. Here are the things they did wrong, straight from my inspector: ( 1) missing nail guards covering the pipes going through studs – this was in 7 to 8 spots in the house and some were glaring being less than a quarter of an inch from the wall (2) missing insulation on piping in an exterior wall (3) unanchored pipes under the sink (4) loose exterior faucet (5) AND THE BIGGEST ISSUE…they crushed the dryer vent behind a wall with the water pipes causing complete blockage of the venting and creating a serious fire hazard!! I had to speak with a manager and state all these issues to get them to come out and fix them and they continued to make excuses about why the things were missed and why it wasn’t a big deal. They even tried to talk around why crushing the vent wasn’t their responsibility. They did not fix that issue stating that because the venting wasn’t to code it wasn’t their issue. I had to meet with the owner and only after lengthy looking and talking with the city inspectors did I get him to admit that they missed these things and it shouldn’t have happened. He told me that the city did catch the errors and asked them to fix them, but his worker forgot to do it. In addition to this, early in the job a worker called me and stated it would cost $900 more since the shower faucet valves would not work with the new pipes. He stated he could use the old valves but he would have to get me to sign off that if they broke it wasn’t their fault. Again, I had to ask to speak with a manager who then told me a day or two later that the valves would work and it wouldn’t cost extra. Other issue but running out of space. Don't hire them! more

Petit Plumbing did a great job. They were professional and time but most importantly they fixed my problem. Also they quoted me a price at more than half the price of three other companies. I would not hesitate to use them again. They will be our go to plumbers. more
