Classy urban restaurant offering a thoroughly modern menu.
The SceneLong, narrow and overlooking the City Center shopping mall, the dining room manages to combine dim lighting with an airy, open feeling. Ornately modern glass lighting, large, bright paintings and comfortable, if crowded, tables create a setting that works best for friends, rather than a romantic evening. Servers aim to please; let them know if you're rushing to a show. The FoodStart with the crispy waffle-cut fries drizzled with light cream sauce and chunks of Gorgonzola--it's shareable by several or makes a great pick-me-up while shopping. Pizzas have a cracker-thin crust, too thin to support the heavy coating of cheese and toppings. Linguine with clams is a wine- and butter-based version that allows simple flavors to shine. Skip the signature steak--it offers little of either tenderness or flavor. The creme brulee and the chocolate tower end the meal on a high note.
