My pick for best happy hour! 10/19/2006

Palomino on 5th Avenue in Seattle! Great ambiance, good service, easy parking and nice deals on food and beverages. For example: house margaritas, beer on tap and house wine for $2.99, 1/2 off appetizers and thin-crust pizzas for only $4.99. I go there all the time after work and it has yet to disappoint. Try it out next time you are downtown between 4-6 and see what I mean. more

It's all that 5/7/2006

My husband and I love to go to Palomino. The menu is interesting and fun - you're pretty safe trying anything on it and not being disappointed. The service is attentive but not overbearing and the location - right downtown - is convenient if you're headed to a show after dinner. If you make it that far - the creme brulee is fabulous. more

Superb Dinning 1/12/2006

I have been going to Palomino since I was a kid. Excellent food, service, and location. Right in the heart of Seattle's down-town. If you haven't been, go! It is a bit pricey, (25-45 per-person) but it's worth it. More often than not I get their fire roasted chiken pizza that's to die for. Great place for a bite and a movie. more

Classy urban restaurant offering a thoroughly modern menu.

Editorial
  • The Scene
Long, narrow and overlooking the City Center shopping mall, the dining room manages to combine dim lighting with an airy, open feeling. Ornately modern glass lighting, large, bright paintings and comfortable, if crowded, tables create a setting that works best for friends, rather than a romantic evening. Servers aim to please; let them know if you're rushing to a show.

    The Food
Start with the crispy waffle-cut fries drizzled with light cream sauce and chunks of Gorgonzola--it's shareable by several or makes a great pick-me-up while shopping. Pizzas have a cracker-thin crust, too thin to support the heavy coating of cheese and toppings. Linguine with clams is a wine- and butter-based version that allows simple flavors to shine. Skip the signature steak--it offers little of either tenderness or flavor. The creme brulee and the chocolate tower end the meal on a high note.
