You pay for the view at Palisade, not the food quality. Once again I see it as a chef who cares more about being fancy than putting out the best meal. Most chefs I know are not in...

Top Notch Service and Great Food!! 8/19/2007

I recently got engaged in Los Angeles and took my bride-to-be to Seattle to dine in their finest restaurants. My hotel recommended Palisade and called them and told them that we were going to celebrate our engagement at their restaurant. Palisade delivered! They delivered a limousine to my hotel to pick us up and brought us to their gorgeous restaurant which rests nicely on the water. They seated us in a great romantic 2-seater overlooking the water and sunset. They sprinkled our table with rose pedals and included a congratulatory card. Putting in this extra effort went a long way for a great night. Their scallops and crab cakes were impeccable and the recommended salmon and halibut were expertly cooked. Our waiter was first class and I told him to bring us whatever drinks he thought would go best with our food. Again, he expertly chose great drinks for us. At the end of the night, our limo was waiting for us outside. My fiance and I loved this place and would highly recommend it for any type of celebration. This restaurant is not as pretentious as some of the other restaurants in Downtown Seattle and everything was just perfect! Thank you, Palisade! Pros: Ambience, personalized service Cons: None, it was perfect more

Great food, great service, great restaurant!!! 4/8/2007

This is my first time ever leaving a review for a restaurant, I wanted to share how wonderful my experience was. I had never gone to Palisade before and decided to take my family (who's from out of town) there for Easter Brunch. Since we made reservations (recommended), we didn't wait long to get our seat. It was very busy there and we were still greeted and our drink orders taken within seconds of sitting down. The food in the buffet was very good and fresh, the prawns and oysters were properly chilled, and their famous pancakes were hot and delicious. The entree's were all wonderful, hot, and cooked to our liking. This restaurant is a definite 10!! I would recommend it to anyone. Even my family would drive from out of town to eat there again. Pros: great food, good service, not too loud, great views more

Exquisite, romantic ambiance 3/29/2007

What a great place to cuddle with your significant other. The ambiance is so romantic. If you think you are going to get ""lucky"" definitely a good place for a first date or to impress someone.\r \r The salad is primarily lettuce... more

One of Seattle's best! 3/9/2007

We have been coming here for years and they have been around for years. It is easy to see why. A consistently great product at a reasonable price! Good food, great service, beautiful decor and one of the best Seattle dinning views! A great special occasion restaurant. They don?t bring out the whole wait staff singing ?Happy Birthday?, your table is covered with rose pedals and a birthday card and a simple complimentary desert. They also have a great Sunday brunch! Pros: Food, service, brunch, parking, special occasions more

A great experience for all 5 senses 12/14/2006

I've been to a lot of restaurants in seattle and i can say majority of the time i am very disappointed however Palisade never fails to disappoint (except for one time where the food was a little too salty). \r Your attention is held from the moment you enter the restaurant; the ambience captivates you and the water decoration is a delight--even has sea life residing in it in addition to the koi fish. Try to get a seat by the windows which will only entertain you even more with the Seattle skyline. \r The food is great--the servings are fulfilling and the service is great. \r I recommend this place for any occasion. Pros: Ambience, Food Cons: Must have reservations, seating can be a tight squeeze. more

Best Steak of My Life! 11/20/2006

I have been to some of the best steak restaurants in the country and my #1 is definately from Palisade. Everything on the menu is great. It is a bit out of the way since it is not right downtown, but it is definately worth the drive. Amazing food, amazing views, and great decor. It is great for special events or just a night of fine dining. Pros: consistent, everything on the menu is great, views, service more

A tourist restaurant for the tourists 11/16/2006

Having living in Seattle for 16 years I no longer have to go to the tourist restaurants for dinner. That being said, I kept hearing all the wonderful comments about this restaurant so I decided to take the leap and try it out. I called to make reservations for that Saturday which from May through September is a joke because they set aside the majority of their tables for all the downtown hotel concierge while the cruise boats are docked. I made a reservation for 3 weeks later. We arrived on time and waited 35 minutes in the bar because their tables were backed up. The service was efficient but rushed and the server behaved like she knew she would never see us again. The food was good but not equal to the price, the rushed feeling, or the wait in the bar. If you're visiting Seattle and your concierge can get you in by all means please go. I'll go to one of my favorite restaurants without the tourists. Pros: View, interior design Cons: Wait time for table, rushed feeling more

For a special event... 9/6/2005

This restaurant is expensive, however, for a special event I would highly recommend it. The waitstaff is wonderful and will be very honest with you about what to order. They offer recommendations and great service. I am not an expensive restaurtant diner, however, this is the ONLY place I will recommend for that high priced meal. It is worth it. Great view, beautiful inside, terrific food (I really like being able to order off the first seating menu - it is surely a value). Try the ice cream dessert - its to die for. Definitely worth the bucks you'll spend for a special event. more

Grossly overrated tourist trap 8/20/2005

My wife and I dine out frequently. We chose Palisade for her birthday dinner and so informed the restaurant. She ordered salmon medium rare. This is Seattle. The featured BBQ Salmon was overseasoned and overcooked. The replacement salmon was sent back raw as if the cook staff was passive aggressing us. My dish was also improperly cooked. The wine list was brilliant and saved the night but the food was inexcusable for a top of the line restaurant especially since they knew the night was a special occasion. A $75 apology coupon arrived today and they comped only one of the two badly cooked dishes. Salmon is an easy dish to cook properly in a restaurant and to resist cooking it properly is inexcusable in Seattle. Pros: ambience, service Cons: overcooked dish more

Seafood was very dry and bland 7/11/2005

I was looking forward to eating at Palisade for my birthday dinner. I heard they had really good seafood. However, my boyfriend and I were very disappointed in the seafood. It was very dry, overcooked and bland. We spent over $120 for dinner (a bottle of wine and two entrees) and we feel like we did not get our money's worth. We will not be returning patrons and want to warn others to choose another restaurant if they want fresh, tasty seafood. Pros: view Cons: expensive more

cannot describe how good it was 4/1/2005

the best food i have possibly ever tasted were the crab legs and salmon here. its pricey but worth every dime. the service was incredible, as well, and the kitchen will make any combination of selections you want. they aim to please. i have been lucky to have dined in some incredible places, and this is top notch. Pros: incredible food, great service, special occasion plac Cons: difficult to find, very expensive more

Early Dinner Specials 7/26/2004

My wife and I took advantage of the early dinner special (4pm to 6pm, I believe)-----it was a delicious 3-course meal with no lessening of quality, presentation or service due to this time-sensitive special offering (quite unusual for a gourmet establishment)---a very rewarding dining experience----they deserve their great reputation. Pros: Great View more

Was my favorite 11/13/2003

Overall it is a very good restaurant. But with new chef coming over their menu changed dramatically and a lot of great stuff disappeared. Service is always great, they have great e-marketing tool that attracts a lot of customers. Dine there and find for yourself whether this place is right for you. By the way - try Waterfron Seafood Grill - it is my favorite seafood restaurant now. more

Bad brunch - I still can't get over it! 11/4/2003

Had heard some mixed reviews. First thing I noticed was not the view but how badly the fake plants needed dusting. The buffet was Boring, 3-4 pasta salads swimming in their own mayo sauces, fruit which looked great but was disappointingly bland (except the pineapple), and nothing that impressive sweets-wise. Had the crab strata, $24, basically an egg-loaf and a waste of crab meat with hard crust on the top.The bill was outrageous of course, I could tell that before I ate but it was a b-day brunch, it would have been rude to send back my plate and leave. The view was nice and they definitley charge for it. I do have to say that service was good our server ""Sean"" was funny and real and very attentive. And the other review is right you can go in jeans or dress up and not feel out of place either way. Pros: Nice view, Big space, events Cons: Bad food, Boring menu, value for PRICE more

sox stayed securely on feet 10/28/2003

after knowing for yrs that this is a destination restaurant & frequently seeing limo's outside, i expected the food to knock my sox off. well, that didn't happen. definitely, the ambience is great & so was the service, the food was much too over priced ($75 for 1 shared salad, 2 entrees, no wine, and we used a coupon) and our crab & halibut combo was just ok. it wasn't bad, but i had expected it to be spectacular & it wasn't. i would like to go back, tho, and try out another dish & 1 of their rich desserts. i recommend tosoni's in bellevue, or cafe juanita if you're looking for an exquisite dining experience. Pros: great ambience, friendly service, good bread Cons: way overpriced, food good, not great more

Very nice people 10/4/2003

The table was ready with a birthday card for my wife and a few rose petals. My wife wasn't sure about a particular wine, the waitress was more than happy to bring her a taster before making a decision. Then my wife couldn't decide between two different entrees, so the waitress suggested that she could combine them for one plate...which my wife was a little surprised, but loved the result. Several different people were very attentive to us as they went about their jobs, offering to take our picture together with our camera, oogling over the birthday gift, etc. They were all always smiling and friendly. And we were kind of shocked when we went outside to give the valet our ticket, and our car was already there with a valet holding the door open. They created a very pleasant evening for my wife's birthday. Pros: Service, Food, More service Cons: A little expensive more
