Great Place to Bring Your Kids 12/9/2005

The Pacific Science Center is fun for the entire family. I would highly suggest buying a membership there so that you can save a lot of money; everytime you go after the first time pays for itself. I personally got the Platinum Membership, which allows me to bring my entire family plus FIVE more people in for FREE! I also got a Gold Membership for a gift to my cousins. more

Super Fun! 12/7/2005

I love the science center! I usually go there on rainy days, heck even on sunny days! It's a great place for all ages. The exhibits are very unique and you can learn a lot from them. The key features of the science center are the Boeing Imax theater and the butterfly house. The theater's screen is a whopping 10 stories high. Surround sound and all the great ish. I would definitely recommend getting a membership there. Memberships are really cheap and they last year long. The family membership is a really good bargin, but nothing beats the PLATINUM membership. It's loaded, comes with 6 imax movies per person up to 6 in a household. Year long admission for free, up to 5 free guest for exhibits, and special engagement passes for everyone on the membership. You also get discounts and all the great stuff the science center has to offer. PICK UP A MEMBERSHIP IN THE MEMBERSHIP OFFICE!!!! Best place hands down for any age. more

Get the family membership, it's worth it 12/2/2005

We go every month, sometimes every week and my girls (3 and 4 y.o.) can't get enough. We've brought many out of town guests in (they allow 5 in for free per visit w/ your membership) and it's always been a hit, especially when there are little ones. The membership is well worth the price since you get free passes for other museums in the nw, imax passes, and discounts in their gift shop. more

Fun and Educational 11/14/2005

We take our kids to visit the Pacific Science Center on an annual basis. It is a very educational and fun for our kids. There are a few permanent exhibits that we don’t get tired of visiting each year, my kids have most fun in the tropical butterfly house and of course in indoor playground for younger kids. more

Great for a rainy Saturday 10/29/2005

We have had a family membership for about three years. The science center is an hour drive for us. In the first year, we went almost every month. Since then, we usually make it down three times a year. Just going twice pays for a family membership. The science center has some things that I played with when I was a kid still there. The have one building that has a rotating exhibit. This is usually what we hit. My kids won't let us pass up a chance to play video soccer. They use a blue screen to make it look like you are in the video game. I love going into the butterfly house. It's free with admission and is a true antedote for gloomy Washington weather. The also enjoy the imax passes that are included in membership. When we first joined, we were worried that Saturdays would be packed. I think most of the crowds are school groups coming through on weekdays. We've found Saturdays to be quite nice. more

Fun place for kids! 10/19/2005

This is such a fun and educational place to take your kids. They have something fun for all ages. They usually have a special exhibit running, along with a huge IMAX theater. They have a place to eat if you get hungry. It's all very family and kid friendly. Went there growing up and my kids will love it too! more

okay 10/17/2005

This place was created for the worlds fair back in the sixties, I believe, and looks like it has not been updated since. It is a sad bland place resembling a carnival gone bad, with a few pathetic rides, which I would not trust my safety on, and a children’s museum, which I would not visit again if it was free admission. If visiting Seattle, skip this one. more

Great for the Kids 10/5/2005

The Pacific Science Center is the perfect outing for the family with small children. The exhibits are all highly interactive and children are encouraged to explore and play to their hearts content. It's always noisy in their so you never have to worry about your kids being the loud ones. If your an adult with no children, you probably want to skip the Pacific Science Center since so much of it is geared to children. Be sure to check out the annual butterfly exhibit. more

Entertain your kids 2-4 hours 9/16/2005

Skip the Imax Movie or Lazer Show unless your kids are older and have the attention span for it...There's plenty of exhibits to keep them interested, including a permanent full-size dinosaur room for the boys and many hands-on science exhibits. The butterfly room is wonderful for anyone but rambunctios boys. Moms will love it. Once a year or less will cover it. more

Maybe I was too old to enjoy it....bring kids if you have them 9/9/2005

My husband and I went to Pacific Science Center. We don't have children and perhaps that's why my review may be skewed in the eyes of some. That being said, I think that Pacific Science Center has alot to offer.....but based on what's there, there's not much for childfree people to do here. They have tons of activities for kids that are very interactive and hands on. I even participated in many of them, including the exhibit outside where you stand on one side of the walkway, someone else stands on the other, and you speak into these concave red things and you can hear what each other is saying even across that distance. They have a mole exhibit where you can see the moles digging and doing moley things. They have a planetarium as well, which was kind of fun. The best part is the Butterfly Room where you can walk amidst millions (i'm assuming) of butterflies. There were some dead ones on the ground that had been ground into the floor by millions (again, assuming) of feet treading through. Try not to touch the butterflies--the staff doesn't seem to like it when you do. more

Wonderful Place 9/9/2005

I loved visiting the Pacific Science Center. They had so many different Exhibits. We went to the IMAX theater which was so much fun for the kids. They also had this awesome butterfly exhibit going on while we were there. It was the best one I have been to. They had so many different types of butterflies. I can't wait to go back. The price was well worth it. more

Pacific Science center 9/3/2005

This is a great place to go as a family or to take the kids out for awhile. The IMAX theater is awesome and the 3D shows are spectacular. The museum teaches children about different stages of animal, plant and insect life along with the dinosaur age. There are games and exhibits for the kids to use IE:microscopes, blocks, puzzles etc. My kids enjoy it greatly and love to go back . Strongly suggest that you take a peek. It's fairly inexpensive and is actually a lot of fun. Trust me , a lot better than McDonald's play land. more

Great to Learn and Have Fun 8/25/2005

I actually have not been to the Science museum in a while. As a kid I would always come here for field trips and they were some of my fondest memories of school back then. The museum is huge with a variety of exhibits that will allow kids to learn as well as have fun. more

Pacific Science Center 8/24/2005

The Pacific Science Center is a very fun and imaginative place. In 5th grade we went here as a field trip and it was very enjoyable. First off when you go to the entrance you have a great view of the space needle. Inside they have everything from robots to virtual reality soccer. What I really liked was the dinosaur museum. They had what looked like real dinosaur bones that stood very tall. They also had a kitchen table and chair that were 8 times the normal size. I really enjoyed the place and plan to go back sometime before the end of the summer. more

Love it, needs some updates 8/24/2005

I've had a great number of visits to the Science Center. As a kid, this was a place that I loved to go to, definitely one of the top field trips every year. The displays sometimes get a bit stagnant, or are a bit outdated, but overall they are quality and fun displays and activities. The interactive aspect is great! more

Science made fun for everyone 8/20/2005

The PACSCI center has became our favorite downtown museum destination. The center has permanent exhibits as well as rotating exhibits. Be sure to check out their website for their current schedule. The center is less crowded during the morning, but it seems to move smoothly even in a crowd. The center has a toddler area for the little guys with a huge water table, blocks, and climbing toys. It is also home to the IMAX theater. If you are going to see one of the special engagements, be sure to get the tickets on line early as they sell out fast. If you are a local, be sure to buy the year long pass- it is definitely worth the money. more

Pacific Science Center 8/19/2005

This major science museum includes an IMAX screen, laser shows, a dinosaur exhibit, a butterfly exhibit, outdoor exhibits, high-tech exhibits, and various special-event exhibits among many other things. Throngs of kids will be on hand at every turn, so time your visits appropriately (for example, not when classes are in session). more

A Great Place for a Play Date 8/19/2005

The Pacific Science Center is a great place to meet up with another family or child for a play date. The exhibits have plenty of variety, including interesting demonstrations of physics concepts, various animals such as snakes and bats, enormous robotic dinosaurs, and the beautiful tropical butterfly house. I could spend hours in the butterfly house just imagining I am on a tropical vacation. The kids always have a good time because the exhibits are very hand-on and permit plenty of physical activity. more

Great place to bring your kids 8/18/2005

Pacific Science Center is definitely worth the trip. There are a lot of educational and fun things to see and do. Kids can learn about hurricanes, volcanos, dinos and other science subjects. There is alway an IMAX theatre here. The exhibitions change frequently. So if you live in the Seattle area, you should definitely get an annual membership. You can easily spend a fun afternoon here. more

Showing its age, but still a great way to spend the day 8/18/2005

Every time I end up at the Pacific Science Center I always end up enjoying myself and having a lot more fun than I expected I would. Although some exhibits and facilities are starting to show their age, you will certainly come away learning something and having a great time. I recommend going for the best value combo ticket that gets you admission to the exhibits and an IMAX movie. The Center has two IMAX theaters, so you will have several movie options to choose from. more
