Entertaining the kid in you 12/30/2005

The Outagamie County Historical Society is the home of the Houdini museum information. It is all about the famous magician "Harry Houdini." It is a lot of fun (even for adults) to tour the museum and learn all about the life of Harry Houdini. There are different areas of the museum pertaining to different parts of Houdini's life. The museum even has an area that allows you to experience Houdini's magic through hands on activities. The museum also has a gift shop to purchase Harry Houdini memorabilia. more

Great & educational . 10/17/2005

Great & educational is nestled in a housed in a Norman Revival style 1924 Masonic Temple . wow just think of the great stories inside .changes in people's daily work in the Lower Fox River Valley,it does relate to all the changes of the tools used in that time of the year ..I saw the 1930s bulletproof bank, Dr. Taylor's c. 1941 examining room, a 1926 model T Ford car, and a working 19th century reproduction paper shop. which is so hard to believe how they worked in the 19th century.. historic photographs artifacts history lessions shown .. I was very happy & so was hte lids on the history .. they were all able to do a full report for school.. take the class or family it was a well worth trip . it is a beautiful house of history more

great learning spot 8/10/2005

The Outagamie County Historical Society is inside an old mason. It's a tribute to the magician, Harry Houdini, who just happens to be from appleton. They have lots of awesome programs, for both adults and our children, to teach them about how people lived back in those years. It will leave a very lasting impression on both the old and young about holiday traditions, inventions, and the hardships our ancestors faced just to stay alive. it proves that our life today is much easier then they had it an we should be grateful for all we have. more

enjoy a taste of yesteryear 8/7/2005

The Outagamie County Historical Society is located inside an old mason temple. It's claim to fame is the display they have as a tribute to the magician, Harry Houdini, an Appleton native. They offer much more than that though. They have wonderful programs, even for children, to teach them about how people lived many, many years ago. It leaves a lasting impression on old and young about holiday traditions, inventions, and the hardships our ancestors must have faced. more
