I have been very unhappy with the glasses that I purchased at Ottica. They were very expensive! I have been met with unflattering comments and a chunk out of my bank account.

Gratifying shopping experience 8/4/2011

Good: I have shopped at this optical shop for many years because the staff is experienced in their field and I trust their opinion as to knowing the right look and fit on your face, they absolutely will not steer you wrong even if it something you don't want to hear.. Bad: prices are a little high but they are competitive in the high end optical market. i take care of my glasses and have kept each pair for many years.. Other: very friendly and professional staff. Excellent selection. Always the latest in style and fashion assortment. So fun to shop there even if I'm not in need of a pair. So many to choose from that you want to buy another.. more

People love my look 5/27/2009

Don't let Lorali's crazy glasses fool you. She is the best. Her gentle encouragement and understanding of how glasses and facial feature fit together was what I needed. She has fit several of my friends and we all look great. If you want to look great, go see Lorali at Ottica. more

My Faaaabulous new Ottica Glasses 5/1/2009

Well, I just got my new pair, and I am loving them. I'm also getting people stopping me on the street complimenting me on my glasses. I was a little afraid to go as bold as I did, but the people at Ottica gently helped me push my comfort zone and I am thrilled they did! more

Experience pays 2/24/2009

I've worn glasses for years and have experience with LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Market Optical, Eyes Over Fremont and Ottica. Of all these places I have found that Ottica to be the best, with Eyes Over Fremont a tight second. I hear some people saying they think eyeglasses here are expensive. However, if you consider the fit and service you get, it's worth it. I recently priced out two other shops. Another boutique and LensCrafters . . . mainly because moving into a progressive bifocal lens, your lens cost, just about triples. I was told by LensCrafters that my lens alone would range somewhere between $200-600 depending on a variety of factors, none of which could be estimated over the phone. In the end, I chose to get my second pair of lenses at Ottica. There is value in working with a store that knows what they are talking about, and can give me the focused attention I may need during the process. I have never been impressed with the longevity, or long-term customer service of LensCrafters and other stores like that. You might as well compare with clothes, food, or anything else, where you can get what you pay for, or just get it cheap. more

Disappointed! 11/22/2008

I found Ottica to be expensive and arrogant. Their frames are trendy but not necessarily practical. I had problems with their lenses, which were priced much higher than any other high-end optical store that I have been too. Their store policies are not clear and they bend them to suit their benefit. I do not recommend Ottica Seattle! more

Ouch! 11/21/2008

Not a good experience at Ottica Seattle! Their prices are ridiculous. I know the markups in this industry and the outrageous profits that they make. I get top of the line lenses for half the price with the newest and best coatings. Who needs that arrogant, money hungry attitude. Not me! more

Incredible eyeglasses, incredible people! 11/9/2008

I love this store! The people were so helpful, and so much fun. I constantly get compliments on the glasses I bought there. The selection of frames is so unique. I had problems with the first set of lenses they put in, and they were wonderful! They quickly put in new lenses without any trouble, and now m glasses are perfect! more

TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! 11/7/2008

Staff...A+ Frames..A+ Customer Service..A+ As a first time eyeglass wearer I wasn't sure what would look good. Everyone at OTTICA were so helpful and knowledgeable. I will NEVER go anywhere else!! more

NEVER AGAIN!!!! 11/3/2008

Liars and crooks! Save your money and your dignity and go elsewhere. They do not stand by their own store policies and customers stand below their own whims. more

If you wanna be a star! Ottica Seattle 9/25/2007

This is the first time I have written an on-line review BUT I really need to comment on the tremendous 5 star service I received at Ottica. As a person with some new physical limitations that require mobility devices, I have been a bit timid about shopping downtown. However, I recently had such a tremendous experience that I must encourage everyone to seek out Ottica! I have purchased eye wear there before and always been very satisfied and thrilled with the many compliments one receives when wearing Ottica eye wear. My most recent visit was the best. The staff did not just "accomodate" me;instead they genuinely respected me and I left with the most beautiful pair of vintage sunglasses from Paris. I felt like a movie star both inside and out. Who could wish for more! M. more

No Place But Ottica Seattle!!! 1/10/2007

OK, I live in Austin, Texas but I only shop for glasses at Ottica in Seattle. There is one cool optical shop in Austin but they can't select a style to go with a customer's face for love or money. It is no match for the uniqueness of Ottica and Lorelei's superb selection. Not only does Ottica have great and unusual products, but Lorelei and Arlene supply terrific style and nurturing service. Everywhere I go people compliment me on my glasses and ask where they can get some. One of my very favorite things is that Ottica won't sell you a pair that doesn't really suit you - they'll even tell you to come back instead. Every trip to Seattle means a trip to Ottica and usually another pair of glasses. It would be dangerous for them to have a website-- I'd buy more than I do now!! more

Don't bother looking anywhere else!! 11/18/2006

Lorali is hands down the BEST optician in Seattle. Her store is gorgeous and she will find the best glasses you have ever imagined for your face. I know, I currently own five unique pairs that I rotate to match my mood or outfit. She has exquisite taste and my glasses from six years ago receive the same positive comments as the ones purchased last year. The only drawback is I can only visit when I really need new glasses because I always find something I cannot live without! I have referred several friends to her and they always come back with rave reviews for both style and service. more

the best in Seattle 8/15/2006

I've followed Lorelei around the city in her career as the best at what she does - picking out the perfect frames and combining them with the best lenses. She has done this at several other venues but finally opened her very own place, Ottica, on First Ave. If you want the best in first rate, stylish and great eyewear, this is the place to go. I now travel from Portland to get my glasses from her and it's definitely worth the trip! Mel K. more

Beautiful, original frames and HIGH quality lenses 12/16/2005

Ok, it's the insurance's fault. But, the last time I got glasses, it was at Target. I Love Target, but only get glasses there if you truly must. Even when they were new, I could not see out of my glasses. Fast forward a year and a MUCH better insurance plan. I researched eyewear places in Judy's Book and Citysearch. All indications were to check out Ottica and the other shop in Freemont. I never made it to Freemont, which is fine, because I am VERY happy with the glasses I got at Ottica. First, the frames: Lorelie (owner/buyer) selects frames that work for a variety of faces. This store is not just another Seattle eyewear place with dozens of rectangle frames that all look alike. (Go to Target if you want that.) Lorelie shops Europe and Asia to find cool frames - really good looking frames of high quality. Second, the lenses. Ok, obviously this is the important stuff (right after looking good). Ottica provides only the highest quality, newest tech solutions for lenses. My lenses not only have a fab but subtle gold-tone, but are progressive and -- yes, it's true -- I CAN SEE!!!! (Not channeling Dr. Strangelove, really.) So, if you want a more unique frame than what all the other shops have to offer, and better lenses, too, check out Ottica. See Lorelei, too. She is super at articulating how a frame works with your face, etc. more

Great Eyeglasses - Stylish but Not Too Wild 11/8/2005

Ottica has a fantastic selection of frames. The ones that Lorelei helped me choose were greeted with many, many comments of "fabulous", "stylish but not over the top" and "where did you get those, I've been searching for glasses like that!" more

Best service in town! 9/6/2005

When I first moved to town I went to Eyes on Fremont. The young woman who helped me was awesome at helping me pick out just the right pair of frames. When I returned the following year she was no longer there. I continued to go to Eyes on Fremont, but never felt like I got the same quality of service. Fast forward 3 years...I wander into Ottica (which is in my neighborhood) only to discover two familiar faces...one a former co-owner of Eyes on Fremont and two the awesome young woman who had helped me before. She even remembered me! I was delighted to get the same quality of service I remembered from my first visit to Eyes. When I got in they always have a smile for me and I seldome have to wait long. The space is open and beautiful. I'll be going back to Ottica for sure! more

Stylish and Helpful 8/19/2005

I just got my first pair of eyeglasses from Ottica. When I initially checked out what they had in the window I thought the style was a bit too over the top for me. However, when I went inside, I found that they have a wide range of styles and plenty that would fit my slightly more conservative tastes. Lorelei was extremely helpful and patient, asked me several questions about where I worked, what I'd be using the glasses for, etc. Then she patiently helped me try a dozen or so pair until I felt confident I'd found just the right ones. I ended up with something that was conservative enough to feel comfortable in, but stylish enough that I don't look like I just walked out of one of the cheapo optical chains. My glasses were ready a day later and have been great. more
