I first heard about this place/service in Daily Candy-- I had such total voice-phobia that I clipped it out and kept it for THREE YEARS! But when I finally called, from the very first contact, I encountered someone (who turned out to be Ita Olsen herself) who was so positive, so encouraging, so easygoing (but don't let that fool you-- nothing gets past her... no matter what tricks you've devised to cover your voice up, you'll never get away with them once she's begun working with you!) that I was able to jump right in. I had always considered my voice as being sort of separate from the rest of my life, but working with her has led me to see how much more effective I can be in work, relationships, and all areas that require speaking (even ordering cappuccinos and getting heard over the Starbucks machine, believe it or not.) She has-- as does the method she developed-- an astounding combination of energy, personality, approachability, and the hard science to back it up. The whole arc of working with her has had, for me, an immediacy that is more than any book or tape could be. And its just as convenient, because you can do it from anywhere.
