Our 7 and 12 year old loved it. It was nice to see the excitement in their faces while they came across a creature that was new to them. I heard about the jelly exhibit from a c...

Sharks are sick and dying.

Aquarium 8/20/2005

The Aquarium is a nice and fun place for family, children, and animal lovers. If you're not interested in any museum like feels then you probably should pass on this. It can be a lot of fun though and if you've never been to the Baltimore Harbor before make sure you stop by here! more

National Aquarium 8/19/2005

The National Aquarium is a lot of fun for the entire family, but I highly recommend going on a weekday if possible and getting there early. Not only are the exhibits too crowded on high traffic days (you pretty much have to stand in line to see each and every tank), but once a certain number of tickets are sold they go to timed entry, which restricts you from going into the museum until the time specified on your ticket (when we went, we were scheduled for an hour after we actually bought the tickets). However, the aquarium itself is really nice – watching the stingrays from a story above is a must! It’s not quite as big as I expected it to be, but there’s still a ton of stuff to see and do here. Highly recommended! more

Aewsome spectacular 8/19/2005

The National Aquarium in Baltimore is breathtaking for those interested in what lies beneath the sea. The exhibits are extremely well put together, and are both informative and entertaining. My favorite activity at the Aquarium is the dolphin show...the dolphins are adorable and incredibly well trained. The admission is a little pricey, but it is well worth it. I highly recommend this activity for those who enjoy colorful fish, freaky sea creatures, and the adorable dolphins! more

Awesome Dolphin Show 8/19/2005

This aquarium is always busy. If you want to n'joy the aquarium I advice you all not to go in the weekand. All the floors are dam packed. The best part which i loved was the Dolphin show. I really enjoyed the way the trainer would explain to the audience why they are making the dolphins do certain acts and also what they would be doing with the dolphins next. I've been to quite a few shows where they just have the dolphins swim around and do acrobatics without giving an explanation of what is going on. This show makes for some easily obtainable great photos. more

Neat aquarium to visit 8/16/2005

From sharks to electric eels this museum has it all. A great place to take the kids too. It’s located right in the inner harbor across from Hard Rock café which is perfect to go to after a visit to the aquarium. Make sure to get there early in the day as the aquarium can get very busy during mid-day, especially on weekends. more

Great for family, and dates! 8/15/2005

I first went to the Aquarium with my family when we were up in Baltimore one summer. The high prices were the only turn off, but well worth it. When we were there they had an exhibit of different jellyfish, which was absolutely fascinating. I recently went there with my boyfriend and there was an exhibit on sea horses. It was amazing, and a really fun date! more

If only I could find a day it isn't so crowded! 8/14/2005

My son has been asking to go to the National Aquarium in Baltimore for as long as he could say it. I finally decided it was time to go check it out, so I invited a friend and her kids, and lucky us, it was a special discount day. Lucky because we got in pretty cheap, but then our luck ran out. The place was completely overcrowded, it was close to impossible to see most exhibits, and there were so many people there, it made it hard keeping your little ones close by. Because they were having a special promo, they did not include the Dolphin show which was truly disappointing. My son, who had asked me about 100 times if we could go there, and who jumped up and down with glee when he found it it was our suprise outing for the day, was asking to leave after about 15 minutes. I may never know how great the aquarium is, as I think they charge way too much on a regular price day, and they get way too crowded on special days. more

Fun Day! 8/9/2005

We decided to take our children to the Baltimore Aquarium on Father's Day of this year. We had a blast seeing all the different types of sea creatures and even got some great pictures of a shark, and another of one of the volunteers swimming with the huge sea turtles. Included in the price of admission is a Dolphin show which was a great way to end our day. We got wet and had fun seeing how they train the dolphins and how they develop relationships with them. Overall it was a great experience and highly recommend it for a family trip. more

Huge Aquarium 8/9/2005

The Baltimore Aquarium is huge so absolutely plan on spending a few hours here and even then you might now see everything. The have every type of fish you can think of and even some you didn't know existed. You much purchase a ticket which will have a time that you can enter so it can be pricey for a family of four. The other bad thing is it gets very crowed (lots of schools in the area take field trips here). It is on a whole a very nice aquarium. more

Wonderful Experience 8/6/2005

The Baltimore Aquarium is a nicely designed and operated attraction. Ticket pricing is average and the aquarium is rather large. It is kept clean and the staff are friendly. In the aquarium there are cafeterias for guests to eat in and they also have 4D shows that you can purchase tickets for. The only thing to watch for is the day and time you choose to go because it can get crowded. I would recommend this for anyone with children or anyone that like looking at different aquarium displays. more

love the indoor rainforest! 8/4/2005

You can't miss that building in a Baltimore skyline shot, its quite distinct! My daughter loves going here since she was 6 months old. Especially after Nemo came out,she went through a fish phase. They have live dolphin shows, visiting exhibits like sharks or jellyfish, and the indoor rainforest which I thought was so neat. Parents beware,no strollers are allowed and you can check it and borrow a kidpack, which my husband said was the most uncomfortable ever. Wish they would reopen the seal pond outside,we would always walk by that if downtown even if not visiting the aquarium/ more

A Bit "Fishy": In A Good Way 8/4/2005

The National Aquarium in Baltimore has been a tourist attraction for kids, families, school trips and people with a love for sea creatures for as long as I can remember. With a dolphin show, a petting zoo, a newly opened (or soon to be opened) Australian exhibit and a rainforest, there are more than 5 floors of things to see around there. The workers and volunteers at the aquarium are very knowledgeable and friendly. The cost can be a bit high (approximately $18 for an adult) but on Friday evenings after 5:00 from September through late March/early April they offer a $5 special. more

Another World-Class Baltimore Institution 8/3/2005

When visitors from out of town come to Baltimore, they always seem to want to see two things: Camden Yards and the National Aquarium. I leave them to their own devices for the baseball stadium, but am happy to oblige them with a visit to the Aquarium. Why is it that a bunch of fish are so appealing? I think it's that the designers and interpreters took such care in this building--the low lighting and lit tanks keep the atmosphere peaceful in spite of the crowds, while the flow of the crowds is perfectly controlled--you rarely have to struggle to get in front of a tank. The signs and displays are perfect--just long enough to give you a good amount of information and hold your interest without holding you up. You learn so much without even realizing it. The special exhibits are always top-notch, and the dolphin exhibit is just plain fun and amazing. The ticket prices are high (between $11 and $18), but well worth it for an occasional indulgence. If you have a lot of out-of-town visitors, consider getting a membership to keep costs down. more

Fun and educational, but crowded and costly 7/27/2005

The National Aquarium deserves its reputation - it has a wonderful collection, displayed in a natural setting, with lots of educational information. However, it's almost always really crowded and it's quite expensive ($17 for an adult ticket), so it's not worth going often unless you purchase a membership. more

Great place to go 7/22/2005

This aquarium is wonderful. I liked it a lot. They have some much to offer. My favorite part is the live dolphin show that they have. This is very neat and great for the kids. Highly reccommended. more

The Best there is 7/17/2005

This is the best aquarium anywhere. Don't even bother going to any other after going to this one. If you do, you'll be disappointed. The aquarium is several levels and includes the most awesome fish, sharks, exhibits I've ever seen or experienced. The rainforest on the top floor is amazing. There are different shows throughout the day also. Plan on spending at least half a day here. After you are done at the aquarium walk around the Inner Harbor and enjoy the other sites and shops. They are great. Also, get some crabs or crabcakes. You won't be disappointed in any of it. more

Beautiful Displays, Great Winter Deals 6/30/2005

The Baltimore Aquarium is a beautiful and educational facility to visit. It's fun for all ages, with a wide assortment of aquatic animals to view and to learn about. They have an enormous tank of sharks, turtles and larger fish, as well as smaller tanks for the smaller fish. They have some of the most beautiful and colorful saltwater fish. There are also many displays for the domestic creatures of the Chesapeake Bay area. During the winter (January, I think), there is a program where you can visit the aquarium for only $5! It's an amazing deal and well worth taking advantage of. Just check out their website or call the Baltimore Aquarium for details. more
