Joseph Alleva is a newcomer to the Atlanta hair scene but not a newcomer to the industry. With a loyal following in South Florida, Joe is ready to make the women and men of Atlanta look and feel beautiful. He is an amazing stylist and an even more gifted colorist. He has been my stylist and friend for the past 6 years and has made my mother and I into the beautiful blondes we are today! Every time we went to him, we left looking amazing. Muse salon is definitely the GO TO salon in all of Atlanta. 3 years ago I moved here from Boston. Being a city girl I thought going to the city was where I need to find the most cutting edge salons. After going to the BEST salons in Buckhead I was so disappointed... I found Muse in my own back yard... I made an appointment with Daniel ( the magic behind the salon) and it was love at first sight... He has not only the knowledge, but a true gift of style. His assistant Shawnese at the time always worked on my color and all the finishing touches. I have never left there looking less than my best. Daniel, who is always in very high demand with several people on a waiting list requires booking in advance. I don't have that personality to book out in advance so I started to go to Shawnese (who no longer Daniel's assistant but one of Muses newest talent on the floor )when Daniel couldn't fit me in. I felt very comfortable going to her when I couldn't get an appointment with Daniel because she knew me and worked on my color with Daniel the entire time I've been going there. WOW is all I can say about Her... She has the gift ... Shawnese is incredible hairstylist with an amazing gift of style. Shawnese will be very successful in this business because she has been trained by the best and she has this innate ability of knowing what makes a person look and feel great... She is also very smart and sweet. I never have written a review before, but just left the on Thursday and I have had more compliment on my hair than ever before Thank you girl... You Rock. I have been to Muse Salon 3 times now & my experience just gets better & better! It's spacious, inviting, & the staff is very friendly. I had heard about the salon, so while visiting the Alpharetta area, I went in & worked with Arielle. She is fantastic! Since I don't live there but visit frequently, I make sure to see her when in town. My hair color this time (we've been experimenting with different looks) is the best color its ever been for my skin tone. My eyes pop & my skin looks creamy & flawless. Sometimes even make-up can't do that! I can't recommend Muse Salon & Arielle enough! more

I've gone to Muse for almost two years. There has been a shift in the attitudes. The cutter I worked with found it necessary to move on. The last time I called in to make an appointment, the desk told me she had moved out of state -- she hadn't! I eventually found her. That says a lot out the management's integrity, haircuts aside. more

I am totally in love with Muse Salon and Shawnese Polland!! It took me almost 4 years to find someone as amazing as Shawnese in Atlanta. She cuts and colors my hair. I leave her feeling like a new person. She is the most professional and personable person. When you're in her chair, it's a friend doing your hair. I absolutely love Muse Salon and Spa. Service is wonderful and staff are friendly. Hair stylist (Shawnese) is professional and talented. I am a fan of Shawnese, She is extremely talented and does a hundred percent job with my hair. Every time I get my hair done by Shawnese I always have tons of compliments. I have had a few friends come in Muse Salon to have their hair done by her and they can not stop smiling leaving the Salon. If you want a fantastic hair stylist I would recommend Shawnese. I'm so excited because I am going to Muse to see Shawnese this week to color my hair. The last time she put highlights in and it was amazing. I received so many compliments, I thought I was a STAR. This time she is going to take me darker and give me shades of brown. I can't wait. My daughter went to Shawnese to get her hair done for her Senior pictures and all I can say was WOW....she looked beautiful. Want a great stylist, go see Shawnese Pollard, I love her. more

I've been going to this salon for 3 years, and after the last two bad experiences, I'm not returning. I had my hair colored by Shawnese, and I explained exactly to her what I wanted, and she reiterated it for me: my natural color, but with bright, funky highlights. Well, after all was said and done, my highlights were barely noticeable. They were hidden and the color was so subtle they blended in with the rest of my hair. She, of course, came up to me afterwards and gushed about how great my hair looked, and when I told her how disappointed I was about the color of my highlights, she said, ""but you like their placement, right?"" When I told her sure, but they're not bright like we discussed, she told me they'd brighten up over time (they never did) and again, she asked me how I liked the placement of my highlights.\r \r I got my hair cut by Daniel, and it was really just a trim as I was growing my hair out. He got his assistant to blow-dry my hair, and all she really did was blow my hair around. It looked a total mess, but of course, they both gushed about how fantastic my hair looked. Even the front desk people who are obviously paid to tell everyone how fabulous they all look just gawked at me after my appointment.\r \r On to the front desk... When I called I asked for the same thing as last time, but I was charged $20 more this time. $85 for a 5- minute trim. Oh, and a blow-dry that I could've gotten by driving my convertible home. When I expressed my anger at being charged $20 more than last time, I was told the extra $20 was for my blow-dry. Really? Because that's what I got last time, EXCEPT my hair was blow-dried by the ""internationally acclaimed"" Daniel, not by some assistant who really couldn't have cared less to be working there. The woman at the front desk, who, by the way, always has a surly look on her face and who obviously also doesn't enjoy her job, looked insulted when I told her how upset I was about my whole experience: the dreadful highlights, the overpriced haircut/blow dry (my hair, btw, was about 3 inches long). She sighed several times, rolled her eyes, and said, ""do you want me to talk to Daniel?"", like this would really put her out. I said no - I didn't feel like causing a bigger scene, as any more time in there would've caused me to lose it - and I left. I'll never go back. more

I am a fan of Sophia and travel to Alpharetta from out of state to receive hair coloring services that I have not been able to find locally. She is very talented and clearly understands the appropriate color for my skin tone. more

I normally see Sophia, but she wasn't available on short notice, so I tried Arielle. She did a wonderful job with my cut, and I couldn't be more pleased. Arielle told me that she previously worked at a very popular salon in Buckhead and was familiar with all of the same products that Muse uses. I'm extremely picky about my hair and for me to even write this review is out of the ordinary for me. I think I've only written one other review in my life. She's super talented, and on top of all that she's sweet and down to earth. Pros: Friendly, organized, great cut and color, top notch products more

I just joined Citysearch but have been a client at Muse Salon & Spa since they opened their doors. You never feel like just a client, rather you are greeted by everyone by name and you are treated like royalty where your every desire is anticipated, sought out and fulfilled. This may seem unbelievable by people who haven't been to Muse, but I can tell you that the customer experience far exceeds any Salon I have been to. I am well-travelled and have been to upscale salons all over the country. Muse far surpasses all of them in terms of customer service and satisfaction, attentiveness, superb cut and color with styles that you can go home and recreate. The stylists are all well trained and innovative, but most of all, they excell at listening to the customer's needs, desires and lifestyle. And unlike other salons I have been to, the stylists do not get an attitude if you would like to try someone else. I encourage you to try Muse Salon & Spa. You won't be disappointed! more

Muse Salon and Spa was such a pleasant experience. As soon as you walk into the salon you are greeted and asked if you would care for something to drink. Arielle Liberman did my cut, color and style and she is absolutely AMAZING! I highly recomment Arielle for all of your hair needs! more

Amy's highlights are 5 stars! I'm so happy to be able to have beautiful highlights with the relatively new INOA coloring product. I love the fact I have finally found a product that is gentle, odorless, and non-damaging to my hair. Amy found the perfect color combination for my hair and I highly recommend her for color. more

My husband purchased a gift card for me to see the salon owner/educator Daniel. I am a natural blonde that has darkened a bit from having a child and wanted a dimensional blonde look with highlights and lowlights. I sat in his chair and showed him pictures of what I liked and did not like. He said this was an easy process so I relaxed and trusted him to do what he said. Daniel does have a great personality and explained all the education the salon undergoes...I just wish he would have applied his knowledge to my hair! Upon completion, my hair was broken in the front and white at the roots which totally meant I was over processed. I was speechless and he came and told me how fabulous it looked. I had to leave before crying my eyes out in the salon. My hair is not only broken which can not be fixed, but I had bleed marks from sloppy application all over my scalp. I did notice my head was sensitive and this is why. I called the next day to explained the situation and the lack of care was quite surprising! He did not have time to call me back and had a receptionist call to say sorry and come back in sometime to fix it. I will NEVER go back to this salon and I will tell my experience to everyone who considers giving it a try. more

If you're looking for a professional, experienced stylist who is an expert colorist and can give you a phenomenal style you can actually live in, do yourself and favor and spend some time with Sophia. She took my average head of hair and gave me a new look that made me feel great and gave me a little boost of confidence. As a L'Oreal Professional Educator, she knows exactly what color magic to mix up to bring out your best features. Absolutely amazing. Sophia was my stylist in Minnesota before she made her move to Atlanta, and I must say - my hair is still recovering from her loss. She's the best stylist I've had...EVER. She had a vision for my long hair and together we worked toward a goal - and, saw great progress along the way. Before she moved to ATL, Sophia was my stylist in MN and she is fabulous. Not only is she an awesome colorist and L'Oreal Professionnel Educator, she is a wiz with curly hair. I recently had my hair cut at Muse Salon and Spa by Shawnese. I can be hard to please when it comes to my hair, but Shawnese really listened to what I wanted. She is creative and also extremely professional. I went out that night and I got three compliments on my hair cut. I absolutely love it and will definitely be back to sit in her chair.
